I quite like this body lotion. I usually use Jason Cocoa Butter lotion but bought this when I saw it was on sale. I try to use the most natural, non-chemically products on my skin I can find. I'm pretty sure this is a body lotion, so I wouldn't recommend putting it on your face! Obviously it's going to be heavier if it's made for body skin, not facial skin. Overall, I liked the scent, it was not too strong and didn't linger heavily. It was non-irritating to my eczema and moisturized nicely for the warmer months. I think in the winter I'd still need something heavier, and find my usual Jason to be a bit thicker and more moisturizing. But I would buy this again, and alternate between the two for some variation. I checked the skindeep cosmetic database, and do see that Jason ranks @ 4, and Alba @ 5. So a slight difference there, due to the fragrance in both. I'm not sure if natural vs chemical fragrance is differentiated in ingredients? If someone knows the answer to that I would love to hear it! If a product has naturally occurring fragrance is it still listed as "fragrance" on the bottle?

Currently, I'm living in the far north, where the air is cold and dry. My skin has really suffered and is flaky and dry all the time. Alba Hawaiian Cocoa Butter doesn't work miracles, but it's ok for moisturizing. Probably it would be better for summer, but it's not greasy and it smells good. I bought it thinking that since it's a hand lotion it would fit in my purse, but the container is pretty large. Overall, a decent, but not perfect product.

This lotion made my skin SO soft! And I like the fact that its non-greasy and soaks in pretty quickly. Alot of light moisturizers that I've tried make your skin feel like its dry deep down, but you can feel Alba moisturize. The only thing I don't like about this is the smell. Thats the only reason I gave it a 4. It smells really sweet/fruity and kind of cheap, but the scent eventually softens. I'll buy this again because this is a great product.

This lotion is okay. It does an average job of moisturizing, but does not cut it in super dry/ cold weather. You can get the 8 ounce tube for $6 -$9 (depending on where you buy it) but it also comes in a larger pump bottle, which you can find at Whole Foods or for cheaper at vitacost or iherb. The cocoa butter scent is nice, but it does contain synthetic 'fragrance' as well as a few other questionable ingredients. It gets a moderate hazard rating of 5 from cosmeticdatabase (0-2 low, 3-6 moderate, 7-10 high). There are definitely better, more natural lotions out there that smell good without added synthetic fragrance (Aubrey Organics, BWC & 100% Pure make some good ones) . Not bad, but for moisturizing I prefer the Kona Coffee lotion (also moderate hazard rating of 5) or the Kukui Nut Oil over this one, though both of these also contain added fragrance, so beware if you are allergic or sensitive to added fragrance, or are searching for something all natural.
Ingredients: Purified water, certified organic aloe barbadensis leaf juice, sorbitol, certified organic helianthus annuus (sunflower) oil, vegetable glycerin, cetyl alcohol, stearic acid, dimethicone, theobroma cacao (cocoa) butter, tocopherol (vitamin E), simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) oil, macadamia ternifolia oil, aleurites moluccana (kukui) nut oil, macrocystis pyrifera (kelp) extract, allantoin, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), zingiber zerumbet (awapuhi) extract, carica papaya extract, ananas sativus (pineapple) extract, sodium PCA, sodium cocoyl glutamate, linum usitatissimum (flax) seed oil, sodium carbomer, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, benzyl alcohol, riboflavin and fragrance.

This was honestly not a product I planned to buy. Every brush, cleanser, lip gloss, perfume, etc, is purchased only after a rigorous search involving weeks research and sampling. I tried this in a Target when my hands were dry after using the ladies room. As my allergies were bothering me I had no perfume on, and loved the light cocoa scent.
I picked up a tube (my first impulse buy in months), and decided to try a bit on my super oily face. I massage in a pea sized amount to my face and neck every night, and it is wonderful. Just emollient enough to moisturize without feeling heavy, but still contains enough oil to loosen sebum plugs, which are a huge problem for me. My face is much smoother in the morning after using this, and I'm getting fewer blackheads. Has not caused any breakouts to date- any problematic moisturizers in the past have given me cystic acne right off the bat.
Will definitely repurchase, very inexpensive for quantity and quality of product.

I am on my third tube of this. I originally bought because I'm pregnant and this was the only paraben-free, silicone-free cocoa butter product I could even find. I've been using it daily after my shower and twice daily, in combination with pure vitamin E oil, on my belly and other potential stretch mark areas. I'm now 38 weeks pregnant and measuring BIG, and still no stretch marks.
After pregnancy I'll continue to use this lotion. It smells delicious, and my husband loves the smell too. My skin is moist and supple. And, I've even started using this on my face with great results (my face is VERY prone to clogging, but this hasn't clogged a single pore yet, after 2 weeks of facial use).
A beautiful product.
EDIT: I reduced this from five to two lippies. The past few months I was wondering why I was suddenly getting zits after a year of clear skin. While brushing my teeth, I randomly read the ingredient label on this and saw to my dismay that it has been reformulated with dimethicone. Too bad. They ruined a great product. It even clogs the pores on my upper arms, so I just use it on my legs now, although I won't repurchase--the reformulation doesn't seem to sink in like the old one did (no surprise, since dimethicone sits on your skin like plastic film. Ugh.)

I really liked this body lotion. It made my dry skin feel moisturized and the scent was pleasing. My only complaint which is personal is that I wish they would make a larger size of it (if they do, I have yet to see it), because I went through this in about two weeks since I use lotion all over every day as soon as I get out of the shower. Other than that, I thought it was a great product that didn't have the usual mainstream harmful ingredients in it.

This is my favorite 'thick' lotion, I tend to alternate between this and a lighter BB one. The smell is amazing and this stuff just sinks into my dry dry skin leaving me feeling soft and smelling good :) One of my (2) HG lotions.

I love this soooo much! I don't enjoy smelling like fruits or flowers, but this is absolutely intoxicating! It's a chocolatey smell with a little vanilla, and it fades away so that it's very subtle but every now and then you get a whiff of deliciousness... I have very dry skin, and so far this moisturizes me just fine, which was a surprise because the lotion isn't as thick as some that I'm used to. I got a big 24oz bottle with pump at Whole Foods for $12.99. I'm getting a lot of pleasure for just a little money. (The matching hair wash and conditioner are wonderful too.)

This is my favorite body lotion ever! I was using one that i liked before this but it contained chemicals and wasn't natural. This one smells great, isn't sticky, and is rich... but not greasy! Im such a beauty junkie... constantly trying new products, but every time I try a different lotion, Im HIGHLY dissapointed and run back to this one!!! It really is the best... and the fact that its NATURAL!!!
Think about what your putting on your skin because it soaks into your system! STOP BUYING PRODUCTS WITH CHEMICALS!!! THEY CAUSE CANCER

I've been wanting to buy this for so long! One day I was at Whole Foods and noticed the large bottle was on sale for $12. I figured what the heck...it's a good deal considering the 8 oz. tube is usually around $8. My boys and I have been using this for about two weeks now. I love the way it smells...on me and the little guys. But, all three of us have pretty dry skin. While this is decent for the summer, I can already tell this is not going to come close to cutting it for the winter. It's probably a better lotion for those who don't have drier skin.

This stuff smells awesome...and it provides fairly got moisture, but not enough for me. Although I am sure it is fine for someone with normal skin--because I have eczema and most moisturiser aren't nearly as moisturising as I need them to be for my skin.
I did like this, but the price was a bit much for it size. And it absorbed well, but I ran out of it very quickly which makes me not want to spend so much money and keep buying it.

I'm addicted to this lotion. I live in MN, and during winter months especially, I always need a moisturizer on my hands because they will crack and develop dry, flaky areas no matter what I do. I used to walk past this product at Target because I didn't like the price (around $9 or $10 for a tube, which I found kind of expensive -- especially since I had just been laid off). Several visits later, I decided to try some from the sample bottle. I liked how it went on, but still didn't like the price. As I continued to shop, I kept getting a whiff of the scent, and kept deliberately smelling my hands because I loved the smell so much. It got to the point that everytime I went into Target, I went for a little sample of this from their sample bottle display. Finally one day I broke down and bought it because I just had to have it. This lotion sinks in without being overly greasy, and the smell is not overpowering -- just a subtle light, sweet and sort of "coco-vanilly" scent.

FYI this does not contain parabens as it says on my tube 100% paraben free. Perhaps they have reformulated this lotion.
I was debating between this and the kukui nut body cream but this one smelled more of vanilla and cocoa butter, the kukui nut was a bit too nutty/almondy sweet for me.
This sinks in nicely , Im using it for my hands, legs, and arms. I will probably repurchases.

I'm disappointed. I bought this at Target because I needed a nice, moisturizing lotion for my hands. When the weather gets dry, my hands start to feel really rough, and if I don't moisturize them, they start to crack. Ouch!
I was excited about the natural ingredients and lack of parabens and propylene glycol. On the bottle, this product is labeled as "hypo-allergenic." I'm not sure how any product can claim to be hypoallergenic; there are so many allergens in the world that no product can possibly avoid them all. In the end, cocoa butter and shea butter ended up being way farther down the ingredient list than I would have liked.
The smell is pleasant, better than some of the cocoa butter products I've tried, but not the best scent, either.
The problem with this is that it doesn't do anything for my hands. It gets rid of a little bit of the dryness (for example, the whiteness that occurs around my knuckles when my skin is dry), but that's it. My hands are still rough, and they feel like they have lotion on them, but not moisturized. For $8.99, I expect more moisture.

Mmmmmmm.... I found this at the bottom of an unused gym bag today. What was I thinking relegating it to obscurity like that!? This smells so good! Just what I needed as a break from winter.
As other reviewers say, this is a good lotion, perhaps not the best ever but is worth having for the yummy scent.
I don't think I'll be using this daily as it has a very distinctive smell that I like to enjoy occasionally not daily..

The smell of this lotion is worth the purchase alone. It's a little too greasy to use as a day hand lotion, but it does moisturize VERY well. Overall a 4 lippy purchase; I'd purchase again for sure.. it just doesn't last as long as I wish it did for the price. Oh well. I'm a little cheap and this is worth it. Makes me smell like the beach (in a good way.. not in a seagull way).
