This was a great shampoo for about a week and a half. It smells good and seemed to work really well, but it quickly weighed down my hair. It doesn't lather much, so it was hard to tell how much to use, and if I overshot it and used too much, my hair would be heavy and gross for the rest of the day.
So, in theory, if your color-treated hair is rather dry and needs nourishing, and you use a precise nickel-sized amount, this will last you a long time and work great for you. However, that's too many variables and my scalp is too oily for this shampoo to benefit me, and it's not worth the $22 I paid. I returned this and would not buy it again.

I bought this in a travel size so I could give it a try. This shampoo smells so nice and makes my hair feel great. Seems like it stays clean longer as well.

Hated it. This, in combination with the runny (and useless) matching conditioner, left my hair weighed down/lanky/lifeless, yet dry as a bone at the same time. I didn't even know that was possible! I wish this had worked for me in the way that it worked for some of the other reviewers, but honestly, this stuff has completely turned me off from trying any other Fekkai products.

I color my hair every 3-4 weeks and have been using this shampoo on and off for about a year. It thoroughly cleans my hair and scalp w/o stripping the color. I follow with the Technician color care conditioner and my hair is soft and full of body. The trick is to use a good conditioner after this shampoo; otherwise your hair will feel dry. Most color preserver shampoos leave do not cleanse thoroughly enough and leave your hair greasy. This product does not.

I like that this shampoo protects my color but it is a little heavy. I have super thick, medium wavy hair and while I love how this shampoo moisturizes my hair using the shampoo and conditioner together weight my hair down too much. Then, I have issues with my hair getting greasy quickly and I don' tike to wash everyday to keep the color vibrant.
I love the smell of this shampoo though. Like many other high end and color-care shampoos, there is less sud than normal. This is probably due to a lack of sulfates - which fade color more quickly.
For me, this shampoo is heavy enough to use without a conditioner and I can get away with just shampooing and putting on a leave in conditioner or ends treatment like the Fekkai Glossing Cream.

I've only been using the shampoo and conditioner for 4 days but I can already see a drastic change in my hair. My hair is colored and I wash, dry and straighten it daily. Since using this shampoo, my hair is not only softer, but extremely shiny and manageable. I was very skeptical at first, but it has definitely won me over. I consider this an HG product for me.

Smells very nice, keeps my colored hair very soft and shiny, enough hydration even for dry hair. I bought the Protein RX shampoo and conditioner, it works extremely well, but that is too much protein to use it every other day. So I alternate between that and something more moisturizing. Fekkai is expensive but it is truly one of the best... :-))) I have very fine, curly, very dry, color treated hair. There is a fantastic deal of Fekkai shampoo, conditioner & hair gloss at Costco for $29 (!). ...
UPDATE: The Protein RX shampoo and mask is my favorite from Fekkai. But for moisture I switched to the Pureology Hydrating line! That is amazing, never had more moisture in my hair...

I have curly hair that's naturally dry so I really have to watch the products I use on it.
The shampoo has a wonderful smell, natural not "chemically." It's thick and luxuriant so you don't have to use a lot when shampooing your hair which cuts down on the cost of this somewhat expensive product but you still get great suds which cleanse your hair without drying it out.
I think the main reason most of use color care shampoo is to keep our color looking vibrant as long as possible in between salon appointments and this shampoo and conditioner did that for me. I definitely think you need to buy both the Frederic Fekkai Technician Color Care Shampoo and Color Care Conditioner and use them together because they really work in tandem. I had smooth, manageable hair, without any color fading and my hair smelled great! Definitely recommend these products.
I wanted to wait to review the Frederic Fekkai Technician Color Care Shampoo and Color Care Conditioner, which I received through a campaign as a Bzz Agent, until I could really gauge the results. I have to say after using both for awhile, that these are great products!

s I am a Bzz agent, I was fortunate to receive free bottles of the Fekkai Technician Color Care shampoo and conditioner for review.

I have wavy to curly, color-treated hair that is thick and somewhat coarse. Both the Fekkai shampoo and conditioner have a wonderful scent that is neither overwhelming nor artificial-smelling.The result of using both products, even after one use, was shiny, soft bouncy hair.

As I used the Fekkai color-care products longer, my hair became more manageable and shinier.I think the color protection is excellent as well. I have colored only my roots for the past 2 months, and the color on my hair length has stayed dark and rich- no brassiness that occurs when dark brown dye fades too much

I really love these products and may replace my beloved Nexxus, which I have used for over a decade, with the Fekkai items. I would like to try the Shea Butter line next.

Shampoo: Cleans well, but I noticed it left the ends of my hair little rough and tangled after rinsing. The conditioner took care of that, however.I did not see any color washing out in the suds or rinse water, either.

Conditioner: I really like the consistency of the Fekkai conditioner. It is not too thin and spreads easily through my hair. I do not need much, and I do not have to leave it in very long for it to detangle and smooth my hair. I have to leave other conditioners on my hair for an hour, but the Fekkai conditioner does its magic in a few minutes. I leave it on for about 20, but I doubt that is necessary.

Love this item from Frederic Fekkai too. I use all the items in his Technician Color Line. The shampoo is good enough to only have to lather and wash one time, no need to repeat and lather twice. This is good for time saving. My hair is clean, soft and has retained its color between salon visits every six weeks.

Not really impressed with this shampoo. It smells nice and lather well but my hair seems to get greasy really fast after using it. I don't know why but I can't go a day without washing after using this. Such a pity, b/c it really does smell fantastic!

This is the only shampoo I will ever use. The one and only problem I have personally is the price. But that is subjective. I love the smell. I absolutely LOVE the way my hair feels after using this shampoo, combined with the conditioner and hair mask. It does not foam very much but from what hair stylists have told me, high end shampoos do not create much lather. But that's just what I have been told. This is my holy grail. I am in love =] Oh and by the way, I have suuuuper thick, very textured hair, not curly, not wavy, but very textured. Luckily I have many layers (starting at the crown) so I don't have to use a ton of product anymore. Hope this helps. I know its expensive but it is the best product line I have found that does absolute wonders for my hair and hair color!

Love this. Will keep buying forever until I die. They better not change the formula or discontinue it or I will show up at their place of business and demand it. :)

It smells fabulous and it cleans my hair well, but leaves it soft. I mean I still need to use a conditioner, but its a good shampoo.

I love this shampoo. It is amazing. I have been using it for over a year now, and it does wonders for my hair. My color always stays shiny and doesn't fade. It smells great and always leaves my hair soft and smooth.

It's a little expensive, but definitely well worth the money. I haven't gotten results like this from any other brand, and I will most probably be using this stuff for years to come!

I have tried most of the Fekkai shampoos ( as well as several others), and find this one to be the best for my hair. I use with the Technician® Color Care conditioner, resulting in shiny, silky and fabulous hair! I flat iron my hair after blowing, which I think also helps the texture. have curly, frizzy hair and this shampoo (and conditioner) is magic for my hair.

I was quite surprised to read some of the negative reviews since my experience with this product is sublime.

I started searching for a shampoo that was color safe. I tried Pureology hydrate and, while I liked it, it made my hair a bit too soft. There was a fantastic combo deal of Fekkai shampoo, conditioner & hair gloss at Costco so I decided to give it a try. It definitely extends the life of my color. I'm absolutely amazed at how little my hair has faded since I started using this shampoo and conditioner.

I like this brand and wanted to like this shampoo. I use the Color Care Technician Mask (changed my life!) so thought that this would be great. It didn't fade my colour which is good but it turned my hair into a greasy, lank mess. So not worth it!

This shampoo really does appear to preserve give extended quality to coloured hair. It keeps depth and shine and a little goes a long way. If yo like a big foaming shampoo then dont go for this.
It is a shame they have re-packaged, while the branding is smart the new bottles collapes in and are much harder to use.
I have really super fine hair and struggle with many hair brands/products. This does not weigh my hair down at all. I certainly recommend for keeping your colour in great shape.

I love this shampoo! It smells amazing - really sweet, like candy but the smell fades a few hours after blow-drying. It has a really thick consistency, so you need to get your hair really wet, otherwise it doesn't gather much of a foam. But because it is so thick, you really don't need to use a lot. I bought a 400ml bottle for about $30 (Australian dollars), a little expensive, but it lasted me for 4 months. It didn't really lock in my colour very well, but it left my hair feeling really clean and shiny. I love this product, definitely worth the money.
