Scent: not obnoxious to me and I usually don't like scented products at all.
Use very little product - it's oily.
If you have fine hair - forget it!!!!
Otherwise, for my coarse hair - quite good for the $$

Loveee this product! It smells amazing, just like candy and it doesn't make my hair too oily. It is super cheap and great quality and it also adds a pretty shine to your hair

I am on my 3rd bottle of this product. I have tried many flat iron sprays ranging from $25+ a bottle. This product is much less expensive and provides the same quality results. This product works great on the ends of my hair as a flat iron protectant. I have color damaged hair from bleaching,so my ends are basically fried. This spray provides my hair with moisture without making it greasy and leaves my hair feeling smooth and less damaged. I have never applied it to my entire head because I have naturally oily hair. But it works great on my ends.

I absolutely love this styling spray. I use it before I flat iron and my hair is so soft and shiny afterwards. Some reviewers said it made their hair feel greasy; I do not have this problem at all. Just use a spritz or two on each section, comb and iron. I usually relax my "semi-ethnic" hair, but when I use this before I flat iron, I don't need to in order to have super-straight strands.

If I could give this a 0, I would. I picked this up at Sally's on a whim because I didn't see alcohol in the ingredients. I wanted an alcohol free heat protectant spray to make my bleached ends as non-frizzy as possible. I sprayed this on before I flat ironed my hair and was immediately turned off by the overpowering sweet tart smell. It was ridiculous and clashed with my shampoo and body spray. That scent may be fine for teens, but not for me. The next thing I noticed was that it made my hair SO greasy. I looked like I hadn't washed my hair in weeks. My hair is still nasty looking today after washing it. I will never buy it again.

This is a giant bottle of candy scented silicone-y goodness that my damaged hair just adores. Before I heat style my hair I apply Redken anti snap, then my leave in conditioner of choice, then a generous amount of this spray. I blow dry, then I section off and apply 2-3 sprays to each section, with a focus on my ends, and comb through before I flat iron my hair. It starts off making the section look oily, but after the iron runs over the hair, it just melts right in and makes my hair so soft, smooth, and shiny. This is a product that someone with nice healthy hair would find way too heavy to use as much as I like to use, or maybe too heavy to use at all. That's why I love it- it makes my bleached blonde hair lay down! It gives my hair the perfect amount of weight to make it sleek and shiny- but not limp. I also use it as a shine spray. It works better than any other product I have marketed specifically for shine enhancement. It has a very sweet scent and I love it. My only gripe is that my hands, flat iron, hair dryer, comb, and the bottle itself can get very slippery during styling with this. Keep a towel on hand to wipe things off during styling or things can go flying right out of your hands. I've had my pricey flat iron go flying more than once- catching a hot flat iron is tricky and sometimes painful. Ladies with thick course hair and/or damaged bleached out hair who love to heat style- this is soooo worth a try. It's only $7 or so for a huge bottle and easy to find at Sally's.

My Aunt gave this to me as a Christmas present, and I must say I was a little disappointed. The smell is strong...very strong. It doesn't protect well either (although I do have fragile hair). if I sprayed even a little too much, my hair would look so greasy. I'm glad it works for some people, but it definitely didn't work for me.

***Update: OH MY GOD, DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE FINE HAIR. DOES ANYONE READ REVIEWS BEFORE PURCHASING??? IDIOTS

DISCLAIMER: This product works best for hair that is THICK.

I have naturally thick, dry, curly hair and this is my HG product when straightening it (almost every day). I use it before I straighten and it makes my hair feel like silk after. I've been using this product for four years and I love it.

I wash my hair about three times within a two week period with nice (and expensive...) shampoo and conditioner, but don't need to pay much (8$ a bottle) for this heat protector.

It's like an oil that activates by straightening irons.

The smell is a bit overwhelming (but it does die down) and most people actually liked it.

I wouldn't recommend this to any one who has thin hair, it's too oily. This is for anyone with THICK, DAMAGED HAIR, who likes to use any kind of heat to style their hair (especially curly to straight).

Luckily I picked up the small bottle of this instead of paying a lot more for the bigger bottle. When I first tried it, I thought the smell was nice--for about a second, then I was overpowered by it. I BARELY sprayed it in my hair and the smell, although nice, was SO STRONG and overbearing, I could taste it. It even made me feel funny, from the fumes it was putting off, and it did not die down at all. Some people may not be as sensitive to the smell as I was though. I could not stand it.
Secondly, along with the HEAVY smell, the product felt heavy and made my hair limp. I did not coat my hair heavily at all. I have pretty thin hair, so I always use a very light hand applying anything like this, and still, it was really heavy. I would not buy again.
I can't say how it does against heat, because I can't even use it due to the harsh scent.

Before I tried CHIs protection this was my go-to one. The pros: cheap price, a little goes a long way, leaves hair soft, has a yummy scent. Cons: doesn't seem to aid in the heat department, works better as a shine spray almost! For those saying it leaves your hair greasy are apply either too close to your hair or too much product.I have since found a product I prefer so for that reason I would not repurchase. I used this for over a year and a half and still had 1/3 left.

this prduct for me makes my hair SO oily! i sprayed my hair while it was wet only a few times like i would any other spray and dried my hair and my hair was stuck to my head and completely nasty! i had a ponytail day.

so i thought id give it one more chance and i sprayed it on my hand and rubbed on only the ends and it was alright but still weighed my hair down a lot.

and a lot of people seem to love this. and i'm sure it works good for u but just not for me :]] also the smell really isn't to great at all

ill use it on days i'm experimenting with heat but i don t recommend this at all

I really like this product! I'm not big on heat protectants but I noticed a lot of breakage on my bleached hair. This product makes my hair soo smooth and silky! I can definitely tell the difference. I can see how it could make some people's hair greasy though so I don't recommend it for people with thin hair! I haven't noticed it stopping the breakage but I'd use it just for the smoothing and shine effect

I love this spray! I used this right before i straightened my hair with the Andis Ceramic 2 inch straightener. It left my hair feeling smooth and soft. One problem is that you HAVE to be sure to keep it as far as it recommends on the back or it will grease up your hair. Big time. Other than that I love it!

This is just OKAY...
You do have to be careful not to spray to much or to close as it is very greasy. It does leave your hair shiny can't complain about that. I haven't really noticed a difference in the actually heat protection part so I don't think it's that great. Its smells really good though even my bf likes its.

I LOVE this product with out a doubt the best shine spray or heat protector ive used! Its very cheap and works great and ive noticed it doesnt leave a sticky brown mess on the sides of my GHDs! Only problem is (this could very well be just me with a faulty bottle) but it always seemed to leak?

I am african-american/cuban with 4A/4B natural hair. My hair is very thick, wouldnt necessarily say course, but VERRRYYYY THICK. I part my hair in 4 sections after blow-drying. before flat ironing, i spray each section a few times. It makes my hair feel soooo soft. it works wonders, especially since im natural. I have tried it on friends that had perms, it made their hair feel soft, but it wasnt as soft as mine (i dunno what was up with that). but for me i will be keeping this and getting more bottles to come. AND IT smelllleedddd soooo good. It smelled like candy UMMMMM

For starters I have fairly thick, coarse, wavy hair that is color treated. I used to be fine blow drying straight until I got a super short bob and needed to flat iron after blow drying straight. I can tell a big difference from when I use this and when I don't. The flat iron glides through my hair much easier when I use TUTH. My hair stays shiny, the ends don't feel as brittle, and it stays smoother longer than when I don't use. I do however use sparingly because when I go through the process of blow drying and flat ironing, I want the style to last a few days before I wash it to reduce the amount of styling time and heat damage. It does have a pretty strong sweet scent but it doesn't seem to linger on my hair. Will repurchase but wont have to for a long time!

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this product yet! I bought my bottle 2 years ago, and am just now getting to the end - this stuff it great.

My hair: medium-long, very curly (3b), very dry, color treated, damage and frizz prone, some what thick and takes forever to dry.

My experience with this: I bought this after getting a new hair style with side fringe bangs. My hair is really curly, so I blow dry & flat iron the fringes and let the rest of my hair stay curly (usually air dry, or defuse part way, air dry the rest). At first I was just using leave in + serum before and after a few weeks I notices the bangs were getting fried and damaged quickly, so I got them trimmed and picked this up at sally's to see if it would make a difference.

It did! after several weeks, my fringes still looked frest. There was pretty much no visible sign of damage. As time went on, I actually noticed that my bangs - despite all the heat applied to them close to daily, was actually looking healthier then the rest of my hair that gets very little heat! It was amazing! I could not believe how well it worked: so for people who say that can't tell if it made a difference, I am telling you now, it totally does! It's a HUGE difference!

Like other's have said, it does have a greasy texture, and so it must be used sparingly. For doing my bangs. i would use about 1/2 a squirt. Over time, I found that the best way to apply it was to spray it onto my round bristle brush and comb through rather then applying directly on the small area.

After I am done, my bangs look sleek, shiny and soft. Although it feels greasy at first, by the time I am done with my hair the greasiness is gone and my hair look so pretty and polishes, and is STICK STRAIGT which is amazing because my hair really just wants to curl on me. Before I was finding that if I didn't apply a lot of heat, it would start to curl up midday. I use this and use the medium setting and it stays stick straight all day.

If I straigten all of my hair, I section it off and use 2-3 sprays per section. Again, I have long, very dry hair and a lot of it, so that's kind of a lot. I use it before I blow dry on medium, and then run the iron through on medium and it is left soft, sleek & shiny. Before this I never had good results straightening my hair: It would always looks frizzy unless I put in a ton of serum, and then it would be flat. I use this and I can get sleek, straight hair WITH VOLUME - so it doesn't weight my hair down, unless I spray to much.

Like I said, I have had this bottle for 2 years, and I use it pretty regularly. Unlike what some people have said, the sprayer has held up, and is still working like a champ. The shape is a little awkward for me to hold with my small hands, and I usually need two. I would prefer a trigger-sprayer, but that's minor. I'm just happy it still sprays and hasn't clogged EVER. I also like that it sprays in a fine mist, not a direct spray, so I can distribute it lightly all over

It is also a great shine spray, even without heat. If my hair is looking frizzy I spray some on my hands a smooth over that it adds instant smoothness & shine.

I also like that there are no silicones in this! That means no build up! I only wash my hair about 1x a week, so that is great. It seems to wash out fine with my conditioner-only washes.

The smell, like other had said, it very sweet. It's doesn't bother me, but for sure wouldn't be my choice of fragrance. I've become immune to it, and I use to little in my hair that it doesn't really matter beyond the initial spraying.

Now that I am almost to the end, I am trying to decide if I want to repurchase. I like it a lot, but I tried the tressemme heat tamer and liked it a lot, and it is a lot lighter, so you wouldn't have the greasiness issue, but I also think I would go through it a lot faster. I might try it to compare, but yes, I think this will be something I repurchase.

It's not the cheapest, about $8 at Sally's- but seeing is how you need so little, it's a screamin' deal, and still far less that a lot of salon brands.

In all, if you have dry, thick, frizzy hair, I think you should try it!
