Actually I'm reviewing a product called "Sebastian Shine Define" which I believe replaced the "Laminates" spray in Canada, which I used and loved for many years. This spray is just as good if not better. It is described as a "shine and flexible hold hairspray" I use it often to slick my hair back into a low ponytail. This spray differs from the old laminates in that I find it drier in it's application, which I like. it holds my hair in place, leaves it shiny, doesn't build up, and brushes out easily - what more could a girl ask! The only drawback - the new can is smaller, and more expensive, but I will continue to re-purchase because it holds HG status for me.

I love this as my flat iron styler! It doesn't make my hair too sticky or crunchy, easy to work with, and the can lasts a long time.

I get this product for £16.50 online as it is rather hard to find here in the UK. Let me start off by saying that I usually HATE hairsprays - they leave my hair crusty & I end up having white flakes throughout my hair...ick!

Anyway. Unlike most who have reviewed, I use this for hair straightening. Before I straighten each section, I spray it with laminates hairspray. DO NOT FEAR THE WORD HAIRSPRAY! It doesn't make your hair sticky and stiff. It makes it silky soft when the heat of the iron activates it -- just don't forget to brush after ironing the piece (it's crispy at first). So with each piece, comb, spray, iron, comb. That's it.
I have VERY long hair (a few inches above my waist) which is a damn pain to straighten, but this hairspray makes my hair so straight & soft. My hair is naturally curly, but I have it permed straight (it's a non damaging perm using japanese technology!)...even still, my hair has a slight wave to it & gets curly at the roots where my hair begins to grow out. Not to mention, I have very thick hair. So for this hairspray to work wonders on my hair & perform better than any other hair product is amazing.

For use as a regular hairspray, it also works wonders too. Doesn't provide a strong hold, but that's what I like about it - it's less drying on the hair & allows your hair to move & look like...well...hair! Easily brushed out aswell.

I would definately recommend this, & I'll most certainly be repurchasing.

I have used this hairspray for many years (10 or 15?!) and it is the very best. Occasionally, I have tried other things (as I read about products that others consider to be HG), but I ALWAYS come back. I have found my teenage sons (16 and 18) sneaking in to my bathroom to use this hairspray, too, even though I buy lots of well-reviewed (but less expensive) products for them to use. Even though they don't "follow" reviews and aren't persuaded by fashion ads or trends (they are oblivious to "brands"), they intuitively know which product, among the options, works best. (Now, I just buy Laminates for all of us!) For all of us, it is this fabulous, LIGHTWEIGHT, but LONG-LASTING spray. My stick-straight hair is very long (middle of my back) very fine, but very thick and heavy (I have a lot of "strands per square inch"). I like it to be lifted up and away from my face around my forehead and temples (kinda like Angelina Jolie wears hers - though I do not mean to compare myself to her in any way!!). It takes quite a strong and long-lasting hairspray to keep my heavy hair "lifted" like this all day (I also use a strong mousse, which is a necessary component, as well). My sons use it to keep their straight hair (maybe two- to- three inches long) "messy" and texturized without falling flat. Plus, they are athletes, and they say it doesn't cause their eyes to burn when drops of sweat rolls down their face during games.

I love that it is not an aerosol spray, but it is not a "spritzing" pump, either. Somewhere in the middle. It gives me lots of control in the application, without feeling like I am "wasting" it by having it spray all over the room. Sometimes, it splurts out in big drops, but then I simply rinse the nozzle under hot water, brush out the drops (once they have dried), and re-mist. This is the best hairspray I have ever found!

Sebastian discontinued my HG mousse (Fizz Extra) -- and I am still trying to find (without much success) an adequate replacement. I hope they never discontinue this hairspray!!

This is my favorite hairspray for putting the finish on my flat-ironed hair. I also like Tigi's Control Freak Extra Extra Straight, but I give this Sebastian Laminates one the edge. I usually spray it once my hair is straightened, then run a hairdryer and round brush through my hair one last time to make sure to keep the volume and not have it look weighed down, and love how doing that after using this hairspray keeps the smoothness but doesn't give it that hairsprayed, stiff look...you would never even know hairspray had been put in, but it keeps the hair smooth. Love it!

I bought this as an alternative to Aveda's non-aerosol hairspray and I found it works better for heat styling. I spritz it in, comb my hair through, and use my hot rollers to add volume. Works great, not sticky if you comb it through. I would definitely buy this again and don't think I'll be using the Aveda kinda any more.

I LOVE this hairspray. I've been through so many bottles of hairspray in search of one that will give me what I want without making my hair dry and stiff. I use the hairspray as a finishing touch after I've styled my hair. I need something to control fly-aways and add a bit of shine and Laminates does just that. My hair is silky, soft after I spray it on and it doesn't leave those annoying white flakes in my hair. It doesn't provide MEGA hold but if you're looking for something that gives light control and shine then this is for you. I don't like to flat iron my hair AFTER I've applied Laminates because I find that it tends add alot of static. Otherwise, a great hairspray and I will continue to repurchase..love the scent too.

I have used this hairspray for years. That is saying alot, since I am always changing the products I use. It is medium hold, adds shine and it can also be used prior to using a curling iron. I will buy again and again.

I have been curious about this hairspray for a long time so I finally picked up a bottle. This is a medium-hold hairspray that adds a very nice shine to the hair. According to the directions, it can also be used prior to using heat appliances (haven't tried this but I have a feeling it would make the hair crunchy). One thing I don't like about this hairspray is the nozzle....I thought it was an aerosol hairspray but it comes out like a strong burst of product and it feels "wetter" than aerosol hairsprays...it dries quickly so it's not a really big deal, I guess I just prefer fine-mists. Not a bad product....I may repurchase, but I still think I prefer Tresemme Tres Two Ultra Fine Mist to this product.

I really like this hairspray for its incredible shine, the fact that I can use it with straightening irons, and even the smell. The hold is medium/light, which suits me fine at the moment, as I'm wearing my hair in a flat style with sharp edges (I've got short hair). It was perfect when my hair was longer,too. Another great product from my favourite line!

I love this spray! I have fine, board straraight hair and this is the perfect product for spraying on before using a curling iron or rollers. When you are done with the whole head, just tossle. Perfect everytime! I am a complete product junkie but I won't be looking elsewhere for hairspray.

So far it hasn't clogged on me RAVE. I love the hold without hardness. I can spray my hair and still touch it. The smell is nice too

This is my favorite hairspray by far! I've used it for a year straight now! It gives just the right amount of hold while making hair nice and shiny. Not at all sticky nor does it leave your hair stiff. If you're looking for the perfect hairspray I highly suggested trying this one!
