I've been wanting this fragrance for months, ever since buying a tiny sample on the web somewhere. The only source was Lancome for $125, or Nordstrom in another city. So I just tried to forget about it. But then I missed the rose fragrance and decided to look on Ebay and lucked out. I got a bottle for $66. The bottle is very pretty and I rather like the blue color liquid. It's nice among my pink and amber color fragrances and it's unique. The cap does not sit very tight on the bottle, but I've never held a real bottle to compare it with. It looks authentic to me and smells just like the sample I got. I still love the fragrance but I wish it lasted longer on me. I end up having to spritz a few more sprays a couple of hours later. It smells strong initially, but dries down to a soft rose, very pretty and feminine. Something different than what I normally wear (Chanel Allure Sensuelle & Coco Mlle, Flowerbomb, Badgley Mischka). I liked the price I got on eBay, but I don't think I would pay full price for this fragrance. I think if I were to splurge and pay >$100 for a fragrance, I might try to get Ecume de Rose, a hard to find rose fragrance that I also love.

I am more a fan of fruity and oriental perfumes, but this flowery perfume is one of the exeptions. I love the clean rose note in this perfume and I get compliments when wearing it. I dont think I buy it again, but if you like roses, i recommend this perfume.

This is the most gorgeous rose scent I have EVER smelled. First of all I really don't like rose or that many floral perfumes to begin with. I kind of liked Stella Absolute but '0' staying power on me. This is so much better than Stella. This is a rich long-lasting fragrance on my skin with vanilla, amber and musk. I sprayed some on in Saks, walked around the mall, and 3 people asked me what I had on and that it smells beautiful. I told them it was this rose fragrance from Lancome that only Saks sells. I went back and purchased it. They now call it Mille et Une Roses. I guess it's the same scent as the 2000 rose. I know it's expensive, but it's worth it to me. I hope it's not a limited edition. This should be a classic.

The combination of rose, vanilla and amber is beautiful, but I actually like Stella EDP slightly more than Mille et Une Roses (the re-released version). And that's great news, because I can afford another bottle of perfume with the money I save buying Stella instead.

Yawn. Boring! I jumped through hoops to obtain this hard to find, discontinued fragrance after reading the raves here on MUA.
It seemed like a 'cult' fragrance that I just had to have.
I bought it on Ebay from a woman in Germany (unsniffed) at an exhorbitant price.
I eagerly waited 2 months for the bottle to arrive and what an extreme disappointment it was.
It was VERY boring.
I realize that the bottle that I bought may have been old since as I bought it in 2006 and the fragrance was released in 1999 as a ltd. edition.
It had a very faint aroma and certainly was not an interesting rose.
I really thought it was going to be something truly wonderful, but it was so bland and so light.
I put it back up on Ebay and I thankfully sold it.
Lancome just released the same perfume as a limited edition in May 2006 called 'Mille and Une Roses' for $125.00 for 1.7 oz. I am tempted to go test it at Saks to see if it may have a stronger aroma than what I bought on Ebay.
Sadly, I expect it will still be a bland and not very fragrant scent.
I will update if I sniff the new edition.

I haven't tried this product but this is the email from Lancome concerning it: (note: I just asked about their rose fragrances, not this one in particular)

Stunningly simple yet beautiful fragrance, a mixture of rose, vanilla, amber and musk. It begins slightly green and then softens into a warmer, sexier base. This could convert any rose-hater, I'm convinced. I also love the elegant blue juice. Of course, Lancome discontinued this.

Lancome 2000 et une rose is the most beautiful rose fragrance there is. It's the benchmark for what Stella & all those other single note rose scents wish they were. 2000 is remarkable in that it's definitely a rose base with a touch of vanilla in the drydown-absolutely lovely. I met one one of my closest friends thanks to 2000. I walked past her & she followed me around to find out what scent I was wearing.

I'm always skeptical of buying things on ebay. You just never truly know if fragrances have been watered down etc. I'm reviewing this fragrance hoping that it is indeed the 2000 et une rose.It smells of fresh rose, a little tangy then calms down with a bit of vanilla. I would really like to review a sealed box that has never been opened to give a more in depth view.As it is, this is a fantastic rose fragrance but doesn't seem to last more than 2-3hrs. Maybe this is normal.I certainly wish that Lancome would bring this back to the U.S. My husband had called the boutique in France and they do still have this fragrance but I don't believe it comes in the teardrop bottle. The boutique will not ship to the U.S.,. as we have asked that.I ever wonder if people who work for perfume companies ever read MUA and see how missed the beloved 2000 et une rose is?I would hope so as I suspect that many, many people would purchase. My wish is that they would make about 10-15 oz. baccarat special edition of it,in case anyone is listening!

This fragrance was truly amazing, a real gem, LE for a New Year 2000... Such a shame that it is not a regular Lancome's fragrance, this would be their best! A bottle was wonderful, too, and the scent was very longlasting. High-quality, noble and special scent. Yes, I would buy it again but I can't. :(

I got this for Christmas from my hubby that year. This is the most amazing rose scent I've ever smelled. The teardrop bottle is just gorgeous, too.

The perfect rose scent. I honestly cannot even begin to tell you just how exquisitely beautiful 2000 et Une Rose is, mostly because I tear up every time I think of its discontinuation. Here vanilla, musk and rose are so deeply intertwined that they seem to be one single note: the clear, pure essence of dark, dusky, mysterious purple roses at eveningtime. Comparisons to Stella have been made, and are somewhat valid, but Stella has an effervescent citrus aspect to it, while the Lancome is more muted and serene. 2000 et Une Rose's lasting power is also unparalleled -- one drop will last for hours upon hours. A good thing, because I have to make my scant supply last me far longer than it should have to. I curse the simian at Lancome who decided to carry this fragrance for only a single year.

Whoa Nelly. I normally really dislike rose...the only rose frags I have ever been able to tolerate ate Hermes Rose Ikebana, LM Eau de Lune and sometimes Stella. I was really sick to death of hearing about this legendary fragrance especially since it was an LE and is not available at this time unless you want to fork out $200+ on e-bay. Unfortunately I really really love this perfume. It is the best rose frag I have ever smelled. It is so refreshing, soft and clean...with a little kick in there, it's peppery. It's tough to describe but if you like Stella, you would love this. I almost liked Stella but it was lacking for me in some way...it was a bit thin and watery for me...it lacked a punch. This has that punch. I cannot stop smelling my wrist, the rose is there and so is the musk and the vanilla but it's not too much of any one thing. This is really the perfect rose scent. Thank God it is still available overseas and a bottle is in the works, I can see myself blowing through it pretty quickly. A lovely frag that needs to come back soon.

This is my grail fragrance. It is the perfect rose scent unlike anything else I have ever smelled. Can't count the number of times I have been asked what fragrance I'm wearing. Sadly it was a limited edition, I treasure every single drop of this lucious liquid.

I bought this as a potential Christmas gift several years ago, then promptly forgot about it. Sits in a drawer with the box unopened. (Now sells on the web for about $250. Holy smokes, I guess I have more of an eye for this stuff than I thought!) It is tempting to open before it "turns," and I can't take it to my grave. But oh, the sample I did use on my skin did smell very nice and much better than most things out there now. Why not make good perfumes all the time? Maybe the fine ingredients vary like wine and can't be reproduced consistantly year to year. However, the cheap stuff would be easiest to make in a lab on a regular basis. Oh, God, please do not tell me I will have to shell out $250 to wear this again! *sigh*

This is one of my holy grail fragrances. Cavewoman introduced me to it the first time we had dinner. She gave me this lovely light blue teardrop bottle with a ribbon hanging from the cap. She said "If you like Stella...you will love 2000 et une Rose".
This was an understatement. I was beyond smitten.
The notes are dune rose, musk rose, bulgarian rose, amber, musk and vanilla. There is also a dash of pepper somewhere in the scent. The lasting power and drydown is more impressive than Stella. This is also one of those rare fragrances that will get you compliments. It is just perfection and it is a shame that lancome discontinued it. 2000 et une Rose runs rings around all the current lancome fragrances. This fragrance currently can only be purchased on EBAY or various online sites specializing in hard to find scents. A million lippies for this scent!!!
