I love this hair dye, but i'm pretty sure it's been discontinued. If it hasn't it's impossible to find anywhere. I use the light golden blonde (sunrise) and/or dark golden blonde (bamboo). I got lucky with these shades as they have just enough red in them that make me border on the line of blonde/strawberry blonde. Sadly though I'm looking for a replacement since they're no where to be found. Anyone know of a dye thats comparable to this one?

Well, I have really light blonde hair. And I was thinking of going some shades darker. I was looking in the Clairol site and I found the SeaShell Shade, which was very appealing to me.
I have to say I didn't like it that much. It fades very quickly and it dried out my hair...I never had my hair in such a bad shape. Will not buy again. For sure

I have been dying my hair for over 6 years (I'm 20) and have been using this formula for 5 of those 6 years for one simple reason: For me, it is almost fade proof. I have tried several other hair dyes that fade very quickly or do not look nearly as rich and even. The color I use right now (and have used in the past when I wanted black) is Black Pearl and its beautiful, shinny, black that does not fade!
When I first starting using this formula, they did have a 1 minute pre-color treatment. I skipped using it at first since I didn't want to bother with an extra step, but after a couple of times decided to give it a try and WOW am I glad I did!! When using it about 2 inches from scalp and putting through the hair evening, it absolutely does ensure even distribution of color. I used to ALWAYS get damned close to running out on my mid-length hair and ALWAYS managed to find spots I missed, but not after using the pre-color treatment. I'm not sure what the ingredients are, but it smells kind of nature-y and is amazing at working with what you have. I usually still have 1/4 or 1/5 of the bottle left when I am done and my hair still has even, long-lasting color!

This is the only hair dye that doesn't make the roots of my hair lighter and the ends darker. I get an all over same color. I usally get the Sable Cove and yes it almost looks black but the color fades a bit after a week.

I bought this in Sable Brown, overall I liked this hair dye, but the color turned out waaaaay darker than pictured on the box :/ I was trying to dye my hair back to its natural color and it came out WAY dark brown, nearly black. However, my hair is super shiny and soft, so it's actually a good hair dye.

wow, this was a life saver! i had horrible orange-yellow hair from bleaching, and it really fixed my hair. I used Seashell-medium blonde. It turned out a really pretty blonde color with no orange at all! the only thing i didn't like was that the conditioner did nothing at like all. other then that, this stuff is great!

I bought this in Cocoa Harbor (light brown). It is flat, dull color. I'm going back to nice n easy (my natural h/c is med brown).
THIS BRAND RUNS DARK. BUMP UP ONE SHADE.
I gave it some credit because it was a wonderful application texture with no-drip and no smell. But the color is just totally flat.

I bought this in "Sunshine" to touch up my roots because my local market hasn't been stocking my shade of Palty.
The box showed that dark brown hair would turn a strawberry blonde shade. My hair is now dark red. I am not happy.
This hairdye joins SmartColor and Feria on my shitlist. It smells especially horrible, feels greasy when you're trying to wash it out and just doesn't work as well as the box indicates.

I have been using this product for several years and have been really happy with it. After searching everywhere for my medium golden brown colour and not seeing it on anywhere. I decided to phone Clairol to ask if there has been a recall on this product. They told me there is no recall but the Hydrience has been discontinued.Great now I have to search for an another haircolour that doesnt give me headaches with the fumes.

My Feria colour was discontinued so I found Tahitian Blonde (lt reddish blonde) for $7.99 at my local SDM. I was so scared to try it (didn't want bright orange) that I waited till my 30% gray/white 70% dark mousy brown roots were almost an inch long. I was pleasantly surprised! While it seems that the white didn't get completely covered, the gray did and the dark completely was covered. The colour is not at all brassy or orange, but really a medium/light blonde with a mild strawberry blonde tint. It blended really well with my Feria coloured here which surprised me, I liked the treatment for the ends which kept them soft and unfrizzed, and when I washed it out, my hair wasn't a dried up mess like it is with Feria (which the conditioner fixes right away anyway). I wasn't in love with the Pantene conditioner, but once in a while I actually don't mind Pantene (like at the hospital after the birth of my second son 15 years ago...). I treated my hair afterwards with Redken antisnap, Redken so soft leave in, let it dry naturally, then sprayed Loreal Tek leave in heat thermal spray whatever stuff, and then straightened with Paul Brown's iron at 375 degrees and my hair came out FANTASTIC - soft, natural, totally unfrizzy and it didn't smell like it does with Feria. I am quite pleased but I cannot find a whole lot of Hydrience anymore anywhere - perhaps Zellers/Walmart and some of the older Pharmapluses and SDM's might have a left over cache (I cleaned them out of my discontinued Feria when the colour was discontinued and now getting my mom in the States to hunt in Walmart and Walgreens for me). All in all, I will stick to this until I decide to either go darker or lighter and then try other brands like 10.
EDIT: My hair was getting drier and drier with each use. 10 didn't help. I always get dry with Clairol - I have got to commit to stop trying it already.

I had this in "Bamboo". This brand made my hair nice and shiny and still felt hydrated - no frizzies even after using for around 4 years straight. However, the color I unfortunately clung onto was horribly yellow. When you're in the store, hold up a box of bamboo and any other blonde close to it and you'll see what I mean. I can't believe I chose this ugly color for so long! However, despite my unfortunate choice of color, I do really like the product. :)

If I was planning on dying my hair again, I might want to try to this, but the only problem is that it's not sold in many stores. Why is this? It is far less damaging to the hair than most other brands out there, and while they continue to fill the shelves with less moisturizing hair color, this one seems to get shafted. The one thing it could improve on is EXISTING somewhere other than the Internet, and more variety in shades would be nice. I've used it about twice in my life and so far both times have gone well, except it does start out very dark (too dark) and fades a bit. But the condition of hair is fairly good.

I have used this product for a long time mostly because I didn't know what else to use. I used to use it years ago, and liked it OK, but tried Ion Brilliance. The Brilliance shades weren't the right color for my skintones, so I came back to the Hydrience. I now have a lot of gray and have to color about every 3 weeks. I need a medium ash brown to keep my color close to my pre-gray color, but this one is giving me lots of red. It also builds up so that some areas of my hair are now almost black. I'm thinking of going to the salon and having my hair bleached out to start over again, but am afraid to. After the last dye job a few days ago, I've decided it's time to experiment again and try something else. Just too dark and red. More mahogany than ash...(I use 3/4 ash tones, and 1/4 medium brown, supposedly neutral. The ash alone won't cover gray very well.} This is a bit ambivalent, but that's how I feel about this product! It's OK, I guess, but there should be something a lot better out there!

I just used the shade 04 sunrise, (Light golden blonde). I really liked the results on my hair. It came out a very nice buttery blonde color. What i did not like was the pantene after color treatment that comes with this. It was not moisturizing on my hair at all. I had to use another conditioner after using it to moisturize my hair a little more. But the hydrience dye itself was really moisturizing and the 1 minute pre-treatment is a plus as well. I do recommend this to anyone. I will use it again. But i don't recommend using the aftercolor treatment. Especially if you dont like anything to do with pantene.

I am soooo dissapointed with Hydrience.I have dark golden brown hair and usually when I buy any Medium golden brown haircolor, it lightens it enough and leaves nice highlights due to my 10%gray hair. I used Hydrience Medium Golden Brown 3 weeks ago (yes, I followed directions and I know you never get the exact color you see on the box) and now my hair color looks a deep flat dark brown and has a few black streaks and a purple sheen to it. What ta hell?! Also my hair is frizzy, has no shine whatsoever, and my hair now tends to knot at the neck area. I've been trying to grow out my hair and I've really been taking care of it, but since I do have gray hair I chose to color it again --with Hydrience. Bad move. I had forgotten how flat the color was the time I used this before, but this time I have the knots and frizz to remind me---NEVER use Hydrience again!

I've tried every single hair-coloring product that you can get and this is the only one that I noticed that damaged my hair more than average. I noticed it frizzing up and tangling the next day more than usual after I dye my hair. Now, I've been doing this long enough to know that the color is always darker on the box and if you have damaged hair, it's going to soak up the dye like crazy. Even though the pre-treatment is meant to counter-act this, I didn't want to take my chances and rinsed it out early. Despite all this it came out EXTREMELY dark. Darker than anything saying "light brown" has any right to be. My hair looks almost black in some parts. Like I said, I know that at-home kits have a tendency to turn out that way, but this was just too extreme for a light brown. It also just looks orange - the parts that aren't too dark - as opposed to the cool-caramel tone on the box. Just wasn't for me.

After having a nightmare experience with Garnier Nutrisse last weekend I bought this in Sable Cove and I am impressed. My only complaint is after I washed and dried my hair for the first time it looked like I had black streaks in my hair(like the color didn't distribute evenly) but after a few days it faded(the dark streaks) and the color is beautiful. It left my hair very soft afterwards, not nappy like a lot of haircolors have done. I will definitely keep purchasing this.

I have used this product twice, heres what i have found:
overall color-nice, smells ok and matches perfect.
application, fairly easy, however, if you are using a dark color,
dark brown, black, the dye goes on purple.yeah.
and it Stains!you will have a purple shower.and it doesnt come out
that easy, or at all, my only complaint.
my advice, leaves hair soft, nice color, but
dont stand in the shower, sit and wash hair out slowly once color
is rinsed, otherwise, ok.
