I have the 2005 version of this...
The good: the little eyeshadow quad has just got the most beautiful colors ever, and the lip gloss duo introduced me to Sun Shine lip shine, which I keep buying
The bad: The AWFUL packaging (customary w/ Stila, unfortunately) the fact that Stila DOESN'T name the colors in the collection!!!! I had to basically do full-on forensic research to figure out the name of "Sun Shine Lip Shine"
The ugly: that horrible gloppy, smeary mascara that came with it!!!!!

I have the 2005 set which I bought at Holt's for only $36. It was a really to get 4 high quality shadows, 2 glosses and a mascara from Stila for such a low price. The shadows (shimmery light beige, shimmery golden pink-peach, shimmery light taupe, and matte chocolate brown) work together to give a natural look that's perfect for every day. I always use an eye shadow base and these shadows last all day. They actually look better as the day goes on. The two lipglosses are sheer and last a decent amount of time on me. The paler shade is pretty much clear on me but I love the peachy gold one. If I could change one thing about this set is the packaging. It's so cheap!

This review is for must-haves 2005. At $25.00 this was a steal. Four basic eyeshadow colors, two lip colors, and major lash mascara for a nice, everyday look are what you get in convenient and easy-to-close snap packaging. Stila eyeshadows are always very pigmented, easy to apply, and long-lasting. I love how much space I save in my make-up bag with these three. I definitely am glad I bought this. :)

I loved the neutral e/s all in the one place - so versatile. And it was a great way to try out the new (then) mascara. But I'm not a big fan of pot glazes, so I swapped the compact away. But love the e/s combo - lovely warm peachy look. Very versatile.

This is a great set! You get 4 eyeshadows, 2 lipglazes and a mascara for $25. Colors are practical and wearable for almost every skin tone. I can't wait to try the 2005 Must Haves set!

I just found the 2004 Must Haves on eBay & grabbed it! The colors are fabulous, and while the packaging isn't as sturdy as it should be, it helps make this set affordable. With two of my favorite everyday eyeshadows (Kitten/Jezebel) this is the perfect travel-friendly set: 4 shadows in a tiny compact (also includes Barefoot Contessa/Moonlight). And I was so surprised at the wonderful strong smell of the lipglazes (Berry/Vanilla). Berry is the most gorgeous raspberry color on! Stila *just* released a 2005 Must Haves set, but I think 2004's colors are gorgeous.

I bought this as soon as it came out. I loved the lip gloss, I like the palette rather than pen form. I didn't try the mascara, I have very pale lashes and all black looks fake on me. As for the eye quad, I wanted to love it, but I couldn't. All the colors except the white one looked too orange on me. I looked sick. That was too bad, because the mini quad is a great way to try multiple shadows for a good price. The consistency of the shadows seemed better than usual too. Hopefully they will come out with more quads in the future.

I got this from a forum and I only bought the eye quad. It was my first foray into Stila.
It definatley wont be my last.
The colours have been described already. The pigmentation is great, staying powder of shaddows, ability to blend and contour are all fantastic.
These colours will be staples in my collection. They are indeed must haves!
I'm not a fan of the packaging though.

Love this! It's the only palette I own - usually I know I won't use a good portion of a palette, but I use all of this.
Beautiful eye colors that I imagine would be wearable on most anyone. Great for summer.
The lip stuff, although very pretty, isn't packaged well (hey, it's Stila, right?) and I'm always afraid it will open in my bag, so don't use it on a daily basis. I do really like the eyeshadows with MAC's VGV l/s or l/g though.
For reference, I'm a MAC C2, Stila 20 watts, with strawberry blonde hair and green eyes.

I bought this as my first venture into Stila and I'm so so glad that I did!!
I love all the shadows (superior quality to any others I have tried!) and the solid lipglazes are such pretty colours (particularly the vanilla - what a divine nude!) I'm a PPP with blue eyes and I am now a complete Stila Convert!

What I would do if I didn't have this I don't know. I love this set so so much. I'm really all about the shadows though- I like the included glazes, I've just not really used them. I like the mascara, it's a great size for just tucking into my bag and having on hand if I can't get my mascara on at home. It can flake a teensy bit at the end of a long day, but other than that, it's pretty good. But, the shadows! The shadows are all so heavenly, I really can't rave enough about them.

This set is wonderful! It comes with an eyeshadow quad that includes four neutral shades. These colors will look good on everyone! It also comes with a black mascara that really lengthened my lashes well! Also includes an adorable lip gloss duo with a nude and pink shade. This kit is wonderful for anyone who wants to try Stila products for a good deal! Highly recommend!

I've been dying to have this and luckly my sister bought it for my birthday! The eyeshadows are soft and shimmery which I love. The mascara is black and makes my eyelashes fuller. I love the lipglaze duo because i've been wanting Vanilla for so long! For the price this is perfect! I hope I don't run out!

I have been wanting this set for so long & when I caved in it was no longer available on the sephora site. I'm so glad I found it=D. This is my first stila purchase and I am in love with their e/s! I actually find it to be a lot better than mac's. The pigment is *great* (I touched one of the e/s with the pad of my finger and it was able to evenly cover up my entire lid) and the colors in this palette are the perfect neutrals to wear everyday! I am definitely looking forward to try more stila shadows. I haven't and prolly won't be trying out the gloss & mascara. So basically, $28 for the e/s quad is worth it to me. Plus, it was the last one left at Sephora so I feel like i've conquered the world=P, lol!

I love the colors of eyeshadow in this set - all beautiful shades of brown from coppery to dark chocolate...pretty, pretty, pretty! They have a little more shimmer than I usually care for, but I am getting over it! :) The lip colors are great, too - I am loving the berry lip glaze and am impressed with the staying power. The mascara is pretty good but not something I am likely to buy again. I agree that this would be even better if the compacts had mirrors in them, but the set is great just the same.

Wow, this is a great little set for the price - you really can't go wrong if you don't already have these colors. Yes, the packaging is flimsy, but $28 for this much stuff -- what can you expect? It will certainly hold up long enough for me to get some good use out of the set and decide if I want to buy the colors in full sizes.
What surprises me most about this set is how great the colors look on this cool-toned girl. I was worried that they would be too warm, but there is a certain rosiness to all of them that allows them to work with my coloring. I have brown hair and eyes, fair skin, and cool undertones. I have been wearing these colors with NARS Outlaw blush and they look just great.
The downside to this set is that the colors are almost identical to the soon-to-be realeased Nordstrom Anniversary set, so that's a disappointment because they're both such good deals that I'll be sad to not take advantage of both. Additionally, I put the Major Lash mascara up for swap because I had tried a sample earlier and it clumped like crazy on me. Even taking that into consideration, this is a great deal and all the colors work beautifully together.

It took me a while...but I finally gave into this lemming :)
Yes, the packaging is a bit flimsy (plastic) but I feel like Stila is going back as close as it can to it's old Stila Trios with this one. Although the packaging is square, the eyeshadows are quad sized pans that combined create a circle. I wish that Stila would come out with some new shades, but these ones are so pretty! It's really a great deal if you don't already own these colors. Big rave from me! :)

I really enjoy the longevity of their e/s! I must say that I am impressed with them! Much more than say MAC which I find to be too trendy and way too garish (I'm a BB type girl btw) I wish the compacts had a mirror but other than that it is really quite good

This is a great intoduction into Stila products. The only way (other than improving packaging) that they could really make this better, would be by adding come sort of blush/face color. Not that Stila would keep this out long enough for me to repurchase or anything, but if they ever did, I would definately purchase this again or hunt it down on ebay!

I wont go over the colours again, as they have been listed in prior reviews.
For $28usd, this is an awesome set. The eyeshadows are my new faves, and this was my first attempt at lipglazes (i refeused them before because of the price tag) and i'm impressed!
Very cute little set, with typical cheap Stila packaging. I'm quite scared one of these little compacts will break very soon.
