Tonight was my first night using this product ,and for the most part it looks pretty good. it is making my hair weightlessly straight, and 85% less frizzy. I have her there are harsh chemicals in this, and that does concern me, but it was a pretty good first use.

I agree with what many reviewers are saying. This product is full of chemicals and toxins. Besides the toxicity of the product, it's an ok shampoo nothing great.

I have used this shampoo and conditioner on and off for the past few years and have never experienced any problem until recently. Did they change the formula or something? Anyways, I have a really full and thick hair, so much so that I always tell my hairdresser to give it layers so it will thin my hair out. However, during the past few months, I started to notice that my hair has fallen a lot more than usual and it has also gotten quite thin and feels a lot lighter. My scalp would get very very itchy and get lots of dandruff, and I couldn't figure out why. Then I started researching about Pantene and found a lot of similar cases, therefore I decided to try and move on to another shampoo and conditioner and all those problem stopped immediately after the switch. Will never go back to using Pantene.

I've been using Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner since the age 6, I have tried other brands but Pantene has always been my staple and my preference.
I had absolutely no problem with Pantene, and since their range has expand new lines has been marketed, I've always stuck to 'Smooth & Sleek'.
For years I had no trouble with 'Smooth & Sleek' only till about 8 months - a year ago I really notice something has changed.
One day I just noticed the roots my hair was just soo heavy, greasy and gross, and I shampoo and condition my hair everyday it shouldn't be.
To cut the story short, through process of elimination, I found out it was definitely the shampoo!
I don't understand why companies would go and change something that was working perfectly fine.
I now don't use Pantene shampoo and anymore, I still use their conditioners, but I would not be alarmed if that starts to give me trouble.

Like other reviews said this product is not good for your hair and scalp. It does make my hair smooth but I rather not bath my hair and scalp in chemicals. I have switched to shampoo bars instead. My current favorite is by Arysa Naturals and Sassy goat. Both of them are great. Sassy goat can be a bit drying for hair but it studs very well!

I was fooled by Pantene for quite a while. I didn't use it religiously , but would always go back to it and wonder why I ever stopped using it. I would use it again for a while and then realise why I stopped...this stuff is just not good for your hair..and scalp in the long term.
At first my hair would be really soft, shiny and easy to style, but I would say after a couple of weeks of using it, my scalp would be sooo irritated, itchy & dry..I also noticed build up on my hair as well, but mainly it was the damage done to my scalp. I knew it was the Pantene because within days of changing to another shampoo, my scalp had calmed down and was back to normal. I have also ready some other stories about harsh wax & chemicals used in Pantene and of people suffering some hair loss, but I guess that this could be a result of scalp irritation. I have now switched back to Johnson Baby Shampoo, of all things, but it is just so gentle compared to Pantene and giving my hair some breathing space. I also really like the Aussie Range and have used on and off for a long time with no problems, in particular I love their intense conditioners.
Again this may just be my personal experience, and it is cheap enough, so I don't want to put anyone off, just share my experience
.

I really don't understand these other reviews...this product is amazing! I've been using this shampoo for years and years and I'm still loving it. My hair feels light and super soft. I have no split ends at all and my hair looks very healthy eventhough I use a flat iron almost every day. Oh and it smells really great too. I will probably use this forever.

Unlike most people here, I think this product is great! It's my favourite shampoo! Whenever I run out, I go get some more. It makes my hair shiny, smooth and it repairs my split ends. Can't ask for more :)

The first few times i used it my hair felt great but overtime it made it very dry. I used to use pantene all the time as a child and it worked great they must have chsnged the formula.

I agree wholeheartedly with the reviewers below me. This shampoo sucks! Have used it in the past. Instead of feeling clean, my hair looked/felt dirty and weighed down. I don't feel it moisturizes at all as much as coats the hair strands in some strange film.
I don't like any of Pantene's products. The scent is too strong. It's a nauseating unattractive floral. If I have the misfortune of having to use Pantene at someone else's home, I am guaranteed to have an itchy scalp within a few hours. I try to avoid use at all costs.
Pantene is owned by Procter & Gamble. Even if their products were a god send, I would not purchase as they are not cruelty free company due to animal testing practices :(

This is the worst shampoo I have ever used. I used it with the conditioner and rather than leaving my hair feeling smooth and sleek, my hair was left a greasy mess. At first I thought it was because I was not washing the product out of my hair well enough, but after continuous washes this was obviously not the case. When I went to blow-dry my hair after showering, my hair was very greasy on the crown of my head, as well as on the bottom layer of my hair. It looked like I had not washed my hair in a long long time. Of course, perhaps my hair and Pantene are just not compatible, but after looking around online it seems that I am not the only one that this has happened to.

Just like the conditioner, this is completely useless.
Used it on a regular basis for several months and it literally did nothing for my frizzy and dry hair.
might as well have been washing my hair with bar soap.

I had this product bought for me and I find that although it is supposed to give sleek results, it doesn't really and it just makes my greasy prone hair greasier, quicker. It does not seem to clean my hair properly and it then gives me spots on my scalp as well as dry skin if I really don't scrub my scalp when using it.

When I first started using Pantene, it was fine. It didn't break me out or make my hair unmanagable, but one thing I did notice was that after I rinse out the shampoo, it would never feel clean. There's always something slippery left, which is compounded by the conditioner. No matter how hard I wash my hair after, it would always feel like there's something left.
It didn't do much in the beginning, but after a while, my hair started to become really, really oily far earlier than it did before using this shampoo + conditioner combo. I was on my second set by then, I think. I like the smell and the consistency, though.
Bottom line, it's a good shampoo and conditioner, but only use the small bottles and switch it up with something else once you're done, else your hair will show signs of built-up and stuff.

Why did I buy this? dumb dumb dumb. Some stupid attempt at budgeting...
Hair doesn't feel clean, all clogged up with gunk, looks and feels greasy almost immediately.
As other posters have said, hair loss like crazy.
I guess I thought maybe my years-old aversion to the brand needed re-evealuated - after all it seems successful so can't be bad, can it?
Think I'll go back to my Redken sometimes, MOP sometimes routine
