LOVE LOVE LOVE Eager! It's a perfect orange-red shade that looks super chic. It reminds me of the color that all the models on j.crew.com are wearing these days. LOVE. The staying power is OK, not fantastic, but it's still awesome.

i was pleasantly surprised with this lipstick! i really like the color, and i find that it is sheer and buildable. it is a nice coral shade that really makes my lips pop. i can see this shade not working for some people though, it is more on the orange side than anything else. i think this would be a great summer shade.

I agree with the reviewer a few posts down - you don't need a tan to wear this. I'm porcelain pale with strawberry blonde hair and Eager looks great on me, although I'm not getting the orange tones some have mentioned. On my lips, it's more a watermelon/strawberry colour and definitely not coral.
Interestingly, the day I bought this was the only time I have ever asked a MUA to pick a shade for me, as I was in the mood to buy lipstick but didn't know what I wanted except I didn't want another red. He immediately reached over and picked out this, and it was perfect!

This is my everyday lipsticks because I love bright lips. It's creamy, does not dry out lips. I am a daring girl who will wear anything bright, so this is one of my favorite.

I'm an NC44 Latina (olive tone). This color isn't deep enough for my coloring. And I really dislike this texture. I own MAC matte and amplified, the latter being the texture I prefer. (I also love the glosses--mostly lipglass and dazzleglass). This particular texture is...streaky? It's hard to describe, but it doesn't quite give the color payoff I expected.

I was looking for a nice coral shade, but this wasn't it for my NC44 coloring. I really need a deeper variation.

I did find this improved when I used a lipglass over it (rich and ripe) and gave me more of the coral/orange payoff.

I took off two lippies for the texture, and one for the weak color.

I think that this lipstick wishes it was NARS' Manhunt. :)

Anyway, if you're in the darker skin tone range, try before buying. It might look weak on you.

I adore this color - to me it is the perfect coral shade. It goes on creamy and has staying power. It gives your lips that "POP" but is an alternative to red shades.

One of my favorite looks ever is to pair this with silver smokey eyes, of course with moderate shadow and liner only the waterline so that it will not be too heavy and compete with the mouth.

Lately, I've been into orange/coral lip colors, and Eager is the perfect hybrid of orange and coral. The lustre formula is my favorite formula from MAC -- it's moisturizing without sacrificing color payoff. I'd wear this color in warmer weather, with dewy cheeks and shimmery eyeshadow. Eager really lights up the face, and will be on my repurchase list.

I never thought I would like this color being that it looks so bright in the tube, but since it is not a heavy texture, it applies nicely and once on my lips it make me look alive/awake/healthy. I don't need any blush when I wear this lipstick, and I just use some nude eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara. For reference I am 42 y/o, brunette, golden brown eyes C3 in MAC studio fix.

It looks really bright in the tube but goes on less bright. I am not a fan of Mac lipsticks. I have tried three of Mac lipsticks and the colors are not what I like because they are sheer and wear off easily. I will stay with Lancome, thank you veddy much.

I purchased this lustre lipstick yesterday and I really do like it. Even though I have seen many colors like this before, i.e. Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent, this one stands out a bit more because of its lighter texture. The SA/MUA helping me suggested this color paired with the Cremestick liner in Smoothberry and when I put them on, my face seemed to lighten up. I am a PPP with light auburn hair and blue eyes. I would buy this again but I already have a few lip colors in my collection similar to this so I am taking off one lippie.

On me, this is a bright coral colour. I was expecting more of a true red-orange, and was surprised at the amount of pink in this. It's rather like Stila's Orange lip gloss (one of my favourites) in lipstick form. It can be applied just as sheerly, or layered for more colour. I think it looks pleasingly retro on my pale skin -- very fifties.

This color is hot! It's definitely a bright coral, verging on orange. As with all lustres, Eager has a smooth creamy texture. The color is substantial, yet sheer, so the amount of pigment can very depending on application. I'm planning on wearing this with a classic black and white ensemble, and I think it will be the perfect unexpected spring touch. Also-- I think it can be beautiful with both a tan or pale complexion. I'm very fair (NC15 in Winter), and I purchased this shade to add a dramatic pop of color to my look. Great color!

A pretty lipstick - transparent, bright orange (I don't see coral at all in this on my fairly pale complexion - just full-on orange) but actually very wearable indeed, sassy and fun.... if you're pale, and you want a real orange "zing", Eager's definitely the lipstick to get.... similar to "Plush", but a couple of steps brighter.

Only problem with this, as another reviewer has noted, is it does seem to be fairly fond of going "walkabout" alllllll over your face at the slightest provocation :-) .... every time I've had this on, I've ended up with orangey smudges on my chin shortly after, and none of my other lustre lipsticks do this at all, even though I do own some of the other strong shades (Oceanberry, Lustering). Wearing Eager with a nude lipliner is the only way to go, and spoils my enjoyment of this lipstick slightly - part of the reason I like lustres so much is that they're comparatively "low maintenance".

Texture is as wonderful as all of the other Mac lustres - sheer, butter-like, rich and moisturising.

I cannot give any MAC lipstick less than a 2 or I would with this one... I got it today as a 'Back to MAC' and have already thrown it away. That's fast even for me. I quickly chose it because I had an idea it looked like the lipstick equivalent of the beautiful lipglass 'Lychee Luxe'. I dabbed it on in the store and it looked ok so I got it. Well, where the lipglass looks juicy and attractive and fruity - "Entice" is hideous as a lipstick. It made my mouth 'stand out', even trying to tone it down with lip pencil and blotting off some. Though the colors are similar, this is one to be careful of - gets uglier and louder with time.

Sorry ladies but I totally disagree with all the reviews suggesting one get a tan in order to get the most out of Eager, Sashimi Mimi, Vegas Volt or any of the these other gorgeous retro colors. Pale skin brings out the loveliest pigments in these shades. Unless you live in LA or Miami Beach or have been brainwashed into thinking that a tan is a necessary accessory, you will get these undertones and pigments. Maybe if the color isn't working on you, you shouldn't get darker, but rather attempt to Lighten Up...and see how gorgeous the retro glam look can be in its orginal and intended incarnation.

I talked a friend into buying this. It turned out to be too bright for her so she gave it to me. Eager is a beautiful coral. Perfect for brightening up your face during the winter with a nude colored eye, some liner and blush. You're good to go. I'd definitely buy another when I finish this tube.

Shade description

From MAC Website: Blushed coral (Lustre)

Me: A blushed coral is right; there is also a prominent grapefruit-orange undertone to this lipstick.

Comments

Hmmmmm I love corals. But Eager didn't really work for me because the lipstick slipped off my lips so easily, which is typical of MAC lipsticks with a "lustre" finish. My problem was that when it slipped off, it made quite a mess around my mouth because it's quite a bright shade! I can imagine this looking really good against bronzed/tanned skins, as some reviewers have mentioned. It's a very sexy colour and so luscious!

Mmmm! :)

My coloring

Yellow-beige Chinese Asian NC35 with jet black hair and very dark brown eyes.

This is a very fun product. Not something I'd usually buy, but I got it with B2M empties, so I figured what the heck. In the tube it looks scary - an ultra bright orangey pink (or is it pinkey orange?) that looks like the signature shade of a Miami Beach retiree. But if you apply a light coat, it actually goes onto your lips as a sheer, glazed looking wash of coral. If I apply it *extra* light, it gives me a MLBB appearance! Who would've thought. Also, if you're feeling colorful, it's the perfect lipstick for pairing with Lychee Luxe Lipglass, as the shades are nearly identical.

I was Eager to get this lippie once I tried it on my wrist in the store.
It is sheer with a bit of a shine which requires layering. It is a coral, red with an orage under tone. Nice on my warm ddd skin. I try not to put to much on because I find it a bit bright, but my friends don't so maybe it is just me! Anyway great color, nice texture and great quality
worth every penny!

I love this coral lipstick. It looks fabulous on nicely bronzed summer faces. It's wonderful with Mac's Tropicolor nail polish!
