This shampoo is pretty good. I do find that it is quite stripping but it's hypoallergenic and not too many choices. It doesn't have a scent which I like because that's what tends to irritate my skin the most.

update 10/10/09: I don't use this product anymore because it ended up irritating my scalp and causing some severe itchiness. I switched to the Neutrogena Active Soothing Shampoo a few months ago.

I loved their Chamomile Shampoo and used it forever until they discontinued it a few years ago. I was hoping this would be similar, but it isn't. I found this to be way too drying and it made my hair stiff. Also, the herbal extracts and oils irritated my hands, ears, and I'm always stuffed up when I use this. So, not for me. Update: I finally figured out that it's the Decyl Glucoside (and Decyl Polyglucoside) that is so irritating for me. It's supposed to be super gentle and used in baby shampoos (like Cal Baby) - but it literally burns my skin - that explains why this shampoo is so irritating for me.

This is a basic, less irritating shampoo. It cleans fairly well, but as far as moisturizing goes, very mediocre. My hair can handle this shampoo, though I prefer the rosemary mint version to this. I will continue to use it until I finish it up, then I'm switching back to my brocato cloud nine shampoo. I suggest using a good conditioner following this stuff.

I used to really love this shampoo. It worked great for me for a long time. It didn't seem to be too drying, but now I think that using it over a long period of time (about a year or so) caused my hair to be frizzier, so I won't be buying this anymore. What I liked about it was that it was a nice, clean-rinsing shampoo.

Compared to most drugstore shampoos, this is "gentle." It has one sulfate, so I wouldn't put it under the "gentle" category, but it can still be used as an everyday shampoo for people who use heavy styling products. Now that I limit what I put in my hair (only water soluble silicones) and use even gentler washing methods (no/low sulfate shampoos and CO washing), I use this shampoo as a mild clarifier once or twice a week just to make sure I get all the stuff out of my hair. I'm not too crazy about the smell, but since I use conditioner it's not a big issue.

While this is free of dyes and perfumes (which is a good thing), if you're looking for something to keep moisture in and color safe, this is not it. This has the same harsh sulfates as most "regular" shampoos. Sodium Laureth Sulfate instead of Lauryl (harshest), but still not that great. I think it would make a good unscented body wash though.

What a difference compared to regular harsh drugstore brands (ahem, most L'Oreal and Clairol products) and even some salon products (ahem, Biolage)! My scalp has all the sudden become sensitive to most of these harsher shampoos and Aura Hypoallergenic Shampoo doesn't make my scalp itch. The price is very reasonable for such a good-sized bottle. However, after a while, I found this shampoo not moisturizing enough, especially with the matching conditioner. Overall, I didn't think it was particularly special and am looking for a more moisturizing shampoo.

Sorry to say, but this shampoo did nothing for my hair except strip it of moisture. I had high hopes after all the raves, but after washing my hair with it and using my regular conditioner, I could not even pull the comb through my hair. It was tangled, dry and felt horrid. I tried twice and will not torture my hair any more with this product.

Well, I gave this a whirl since I am always looking for "fragrance free" products. I am not crazy about this one, but I don't hate it either. I guess I don't like the fact that it claims to be "hypoallergenic"-- which doesn't really *mean* anything actually, it's just a label they decided to slap on this product. In fact, it has plant extracts such as lavandin and bergamot--which are fragrant extracts that can potentially be irritating to skin. And it has Kathon CG (methylchloroisothiazolinone + methylisothiazolinone), which is a preservative complex considered too sensitizing to be included in products which are not rinsed off the skin. If it was really "hypoallergenic," I think it would not contain such ingredients, even though shampoo is a rinse-off product. The product itself does function well as a shampoo, but I am going to keep looking for something else that is more up to the standard of a "hypoallergenic" label--and will not likely repurchase. Especially since my skin feels like it reacts a little to this product (slight burning sensation).

I am really low maintenance when it comes to my hair, so I was happy just using Suave Daily Clarifying shampoo for years. Well, eventually the Suave became too much for my hair, I guess, because my scalp became oily (as though it was over compensating for something) and didn't feel as clean as it did before (I rarely use styling products, so I knew that wasn't the problem). Also, I began getting breakouts along my hairline. So, I began a search for a new shampoo (something I hadn't done for almost eight years). After stumbling upon a few that failed, I found Aura Hypoallergenic. This stuff is great! It cleans incredibly well, but doesn't overdo it. It lathers well and doesn't irritate my skin at all! It was a big deal for me to spend six dollars on shampoo, since I'd been spending barely a dollar on Suave all those years, but this is well worth it!! I will continue to re-purchase.

This shampoo is a super lathering shampoo, basic SLS, but not moisturizing enough for my hair. It thoroughly cleans my hair, but leaves it feeling too dry. I prefer Biolage Hydrating shampoo or Redken Hair Cleansing cream.

This is the shampoo of my dreams. I have hyper sensitive eyes and almost every hair care product irritates them, but not this shampoo. Plus it's gentle and nicely packaged.

A great shampoo that I bought because of the raves on the Hair board. Glad I did. This barely has a scent, and leaves my hair very clean. I will definitely be repurchasing this!!

I got this in a package along with the conditioner and gel, for about $6 so it was a great deal. This shampoo is awesome, especially for people who don't like strong-smelling products. It cleans well, and doesn't feel harsh at all. One of the few products I am actually close to finishing!

A great basic, no frills shampoo. It cleanses well, has zero fragrance, and doesn't dry out my hair. This has become a staple in my shower; my husband even adores it.

I love this shampoo. I've been using it for almost 3 weeks now. It's pure and simple... nothing fancy; just a good, quality shampoo. It's not overly moisturizing, just leaves ya with clean hair. No build-up! :o) I like to pair it with my Fekkai Shea Butter Conditioner. The bottle is pretty big, so it will last a long time... I'm sure that I'll repurchase when the time comes.

This is a great shampoo. Cleanses well without being too harsh. I have not tried the conditioner because I think it would be too light for me but I absolutely love the 'poo because I tend to use 'cone heavy conditioners and styling products and I find that this give me a clean slate (and more volume) without the harshness of a clarifying shampoo. Very mild as well.

Thanks to Vanity68 for a generous sample of this. It is a very gentle shampoo indeed! It's removes excess oil without depriving your hair of moisture. It doesn't suds up like most shampoo but it does lather well. It's perfect on dry winter weather like this!

I like this shampoo paired with the cherry almond bark conditioner. I don't feel its very moisturizing and leaves my hair kinda of "squeaky" clean but the fact that it doesn't make my head itch like crazy from all the perfumes and harsh ingredients is a huge plus for me!

I love this shampoo & conditioner! I have oily roots & normal ends. I resently was using Silk Result, Which I still love. I started breaking out badly from it. So I'm using this now.
