I have dry thick hair and used this shampoo during my stay at the hospital after surgery and recuperation and suprisingly a lot of hospital staff members gave me compliments on how shiny and bouncy my hair was. (Unless they were trying to cheer me up)

I have fine shoulder length color treated hair. I was looking for something to keep my light brown dye job from fading back to my natural blonde. This stuff sucks! It weighed my fine hair down massively, left lots of buildup, and made my scalp itch like crazy. Do not waste your money on this junk.

Awful: in this case cheap means dreadful. Unlike B&B it does not deposit any colour, smells horrible and strips my hair from natural oils. It lathers like crazy. I got this on sale and after one use it went in the bin. This is a case of cheaper means rubbish. Buy B&B colour support instead. B&b is more expensive, but another league. john frieda is gimmicks and tons of money spent in adverts. This product is rubbish. Awful (as well as the conditioner)

This has been my "go to" shampoo for several years now. I was skeptical of the claim that it would enhance the colour of my hair, but I have to say that I really noticed a difference! My brother is a lighter brunet than I am and when he borrowed my shampoo once, he even noticed a difference in his hair.

I use silicone serum every day (either John Frieda or Silk Therapy), so I need a good shampoo to cut through the silicone build-up and get my hair really clean. Brilliant Brunette works perfectly.

The scent is pretty mild for a shampoo; it's a nice, clean scent that isn't strong enough to overpower your perfume. The price is a little bit high, but still, not bad for a good brand.

My main complaint is that I can't open the bottle with the pad of my finger -- I have to use my nail, which can sometimes chip my nail polish.

After I died my hair black, I immediately used this shampoo along with the conditioner. I have to say, my hair looks shinier than when I've had expensive treatments done at the salon. I could tell, just by the texture of the shampoo, it was like no other product I have ever used, high end or otherwise. My hair felt super soft in the shower and then when I applied the conditioner it was unbelievably soft. The smell is amazing.

I love this shampoo for days that I know I will wash my hair 2 days in a row. I usually wash my hair every other day but on some days I like to use this when i will wash my hair again the next day. I find that it's not so great for keeping my hair clean for 2 days in a row and after the first day it gets greasy. However if i use it daily it keep smy hair so shiny and smooth and light reflecting! (shade chestnut to espresso) I only use this about once a week but thats when my hai ris at its best. In conjunction with the conditioner it is great, but i just wished that my hair didn't get greasy so quickly with it. That's why i cant use it every day.l also wish that there was more in the bottle for the price you are paying for it.

I love this shampoo. It has a nice, soft perfumey smell. It also makes my hair shiny and very soft. I have medium thickness, wavy hair that goes to my shoulders. When I went to get a haircut recently, my stylist said that he was really impressed by the shine in my hair, and that I should keep doing what I was doing! This shampoo and the corresponding conditioner are all I ever use with any consistency, so it must be these products that give my hair its shine and bounce. :)

I've been using this shampoo for about two years and I really like it! At the beginning, it did make my hair dry and damaged a little bit, but then I also bought the conditioner from the same range. I tried using other shampoos - but I keep coming back to this one! Smells nice, too.

The yummiest sweet caramel toffee smelling hair product i have ever smelled! Makes hair shiny, has crushed pearls in it, but dont expect it to keep your dark hair dark or make it darker, the brunette thing is just a gimmik, blondes can use it too. Smell very sweet. I buy it just for the smell, it doesnt do anything special.

I generally did not like this shampoo. To be fair it did make my hair shinier. However, it dried my hair out. After using it for about two weeks my hair was extremely dry and felt damaged. I still have most of the bottle and will not continue using it.

There is no other shampoo I have ever used that has made my hair so lustrous. It's unbelieveable how a little shampoo can make every day a great hair day.

I use the Daily version of this (come to think of it, the last time I purchased, the name seemed to have been changed to Naturalizing) and it is incredible.

I'm a shampoo rotator, and I go from high end to drugstore without a thought. Recently I'd tried Garnier, which didn't go well; a panicked trip to the drugstore made me pull the Brilliant Brunette off the shelf, which I'd used years before and loved. The first day I used it, I thought, "This must be why I stopped." My hair felt weighed down, and almost unclean... but because this would be my second failed bottle of shampoo, I didn't want to return, and I kept using it.

After a week of continued use, I started to notice a major difference in my hair. It was shiny, bouncy, and I had day after day of great hair. In pictures, my dark, subtly highlighted hair just looks - well, brilliant.

I'm a John Frieda convert, again. Love the clear, upside down packaging too. It's no mess, and I know exactly when I'm out, and I never have to whip the bottle around just to get the last amount of shampoo. For $8, it's totally worth it.

This shampoo makes my hair shine very nicely. The smell is amazing! I wash my hair with this rinse and repeat. I don't even need conditioner it's so smoothing. I wish they had a perfume for this scent! LOL! Buy it, if you want shiny hair and you are a brunette ;)

I love this shampoo!! This has to be my HG! I got it for $5 at Target for a huge bottle. It really brings out my natural highlights. My hair is no longer greasy or flat. I have really nice volume. Even though it has SLS, it is not breaking me out. Which is amazing! Also it smells really nice.

Nothing about this product justifies the price. It's not a terrible product, but I find it to be no different from any other drug store brands - except for the $8.50 price tag!! I didn't HATE this shampoo, but I won't be repurchasing it. It didn't wow me enough to want to spend another $8.50.

I bought this on sale and I like it for that price, not for the retail. I have straight unprocessed Asian hair. I got it cuz I tried it once at a friend's house and I loved the scent. I think it makes my hair very shiny and I use it about once a week or every two weeks for that reason. But I find that if I use it more often than that it tends to create a layer or a film on my hair that I do not want to build up (hence defeating the purpose of the shine). I do not use finishing products.

So far, I'm loving this shampoo. I had my hair colored (demi permanent) a few weeks ago and needed a gentler shampoo than the clarifying ones I usually use. I work with horses/outdoors a lot and my hair is almost to my hips. I ride/train and compete, so my hair gets pretty squished into helmets or baseball hats. I also have an oily scalp.

I found this shampoo to be gentle enough that it didn't aggrivate my SD, though I do get occasional flaking and will switch to my dandruff shampoo. I don't wash my hair daily, and this shampoo lets me go about 2 days before it gets really greasy.

The conditioner is wonderful and has no cones in it, and has been making my hair soft and managable, as well as super shiny. I've been doing a cool water rinse for my hair and not sure that helps.

NOTE: This shampoo will NOT color your hair. There are no colors/peroxide in it. What it does is manage color treated hair, gentle for color treated hair. If you use this shampoo/conditioner, it won't change the color of your hair. If your hair is damaged/been colored/sun bleached, you would need to color your hair to see color change results. This is stated right on the packaging/bottles.

I'm an avid lover of Pantene, but their brunette line really dried out my hair. I guess it's all relative to each person's hair type. :)

This product was okay. At first I loved it, but after time it seemed to really buildup in my hair and my hair never felt really clean. It definitely added shine to my thick but fine hair, but it also make my hair whispy and dry at the ends.
