I loved this soap! If you wear the fragrance its a must have! It is on the expensive side, but a beautiful fragrance like nothing else you will ever find that claims to be a beach fragrance.

I purchased this online, and wish I'd been able to smell it first. This did not smell like the beach at all to me, more like a strong cheap hotel soap, or something cheap and strong like Zest, Irish Spring, or Spring Bouquet. And the scent lingers on the skin. The soap itself gives nice lather and is not drying, I just can't get past the smell.

I LOVE Bobbi Brown's Beach and I really like this soap. The sand that's on one side of this soap is a great exfloliator -- I just wish it would last longer. It is a bit pricey but soooo luxurious. I just used it in the shower and I feel like I just spent a great day at the beach... but no sunburn! I purchase these every time they come out but use them only once in a while when I want to indulge myself. (Like Charlie in Willie Wonka and the Chocoloate Factory, hoarding away his chocolate... ;)
The Beach is my all-time favorite scent and I wear it year-round. LOVE it!

I love the scent and creamy foam of this so don't consider it a bad product, My skin feels really nice after using it.
I do think it's really poor value for money. The soap is a very soft mill and doesn't last long at all. The sand is a thin layer on one side and whilst effective I found it had disappeared after 3 showers worth of use. I paid £8+ though it usually retails at £11+ in the uk. I will look at other products in this line to see if there is something that would last longer.

I buy Beach soap every summer and just this year purchased the EDP as well (why oh why did I wait so long to buy this???). I love the scent. Smells like yummy suntan lotion, if you like that sort of thing. The soap is very creamy and the sand side gives great exfoliation. As some have mentioned, the sand side of the soap doesn't last too long, but I've found it lasts longer if I run a washcloth over the soap side first, then barely brush it over the sand side. Doesn't take much sand at all to do the trick.

I really like the soft beachy scent of this soap, and the sand exfoliates well without being too harsh. After the sand has been used there's another layer of exfoliation (maybe oatmeal?), but eventually you're left with just soap. I'd give this 4 lippies, but the bar itself doesn't last long at all, so the value isn't very good. I will probably purchase the fragrance soon.

I held onto this unwrapped for a year after I bought it on impulse thinking I'd swap it away, but tried it after hearing some good things about it, and I'm very glad I did. It's a nice splurge and treat in the shower, and does lather up very nicely to a rich foam. That's the good news. One thing that I didn't like about it is that the exfoliator side of the soap didn't last more than 4 showers for me. It's a very thin "slice", or section, of the soap, and I was disappointed it disappeared so soon. Also, after not using it for about a month of it sitting in a soap dish in my shower, when I picked it up, it all but crumbled apart in my hand, like it just fell apart and ended up being this little 1" by 1-1/2" little piece of soap. So I used it as a hand soap at my sink. I'm not sure I'd run out and get another one immediately, but I might swap for it when mine runs out. Some people would be bothered by the gritty feel that is left on the bottom of your shower after using this, but it didn't bother me much.

I agree that the price is a bit high but it smells wonderful. I do love the sand layer. It's alot like LUSH's Sandstone soap minus the fragrance. My son and I have used it around 5 times and it's just awesome. I will buy it again if my son wants it but took off a lippie for the price.

This soap is wonderful! The sand part is a terrific exfoliator especially on my dry rough feet and heels, knees and elbows. The soap part is so soft and creamy and the fragrance is true Beach! Yes it's on the expensive side, but I got 10 uses out of my bar so that breaks down to $1.50 a shower - not bad for soap/exfoliant in one. Will definitely buy more if I can find them!

I really love this product, despite the negative reviews. For a beach lover who lives nowhere close to a beach, this brings pleasant memories - I even like the sand! I do think the soap is a tad expensive, however. I really wish she would have made a beach shower gel too. The scent is amazing (especially if you like the smell of sunscreen, which I do.)

I was lemming this so bad, and all the BB counters in my area were out of stock. Lo and behold I was walking thru Nordies a few weeks ago and there they were! I picked up two of them. I thought I would like them better than I do since I love the Beach scent. What turns me off is the novelty part of this bar of soap - the sand!!! Cute to look at and a catchy gimmick, but when it comes down to the "nitty gritty", of using this, it is way tooo gritty!! As someone else said in another review, it tears up your skin and the sand gets all over the bathtub, making it necessary for a major cleanup of the tub after you're done. The soap part is high quality and is pleasantly scented with the Beach fragrance. I will not be purchasing these anymore. I have another one on hand and will probably save it for now. Maybe I'll forget the trauma and drama of using this by next summer and try it again:(

I'm sorry, Bobbi, but this is one product I must give a resounding thumbs-down. How could you slap your name on this soap? The only reason I am giving it two lipsticks is because of the divine Beach fragrance. It is far too expensive for its small size, but what is most galling is the texture of the product. Don't get me wrong, with a name like "Sandbar" I fully expected a soap with exfoliating qualities. I did not, however, expect a layer of SAND slapped atop a cake of soap. Yes, folks, this feels like real sand, so harsh and grainy that it seemed as though I was rubbing SANDPAPER on my skin. Note to self: a brillo bad would have been more soothing. I first used the Sandbar after a nice long day of sunbathing, and having used Bobbi's Beach-scented sunscreens, I was eager to wash away the residual product with the Beach-scented soap. Do not make this same mistake, particularly if you have any hint of a sunburn (as I did). You can imagine how irritated my skin became afterward, and I only got as far as my right forearm before I gave it up! The only way I could get this to work for me was to run my hand over the sand to loosen a few particles. Then, I mixed them with the rest of the soap for a more gently exfoliating lather. I took about three showers this way before the entire layer of sand just melted away. This was most welcome! Under the layer of sand is a nice cake of soap and a thin layer of large oatmeal-like flakes sandwiched in the middle. I wouldn't buy this again, but if I did I'd try to slice or melt off the sandy layer so that I could enjoy the rest of the bar. BOO!!!

This is bar soap from Bobbi Brown. For $15, it is lightly scented with beach fragrance, and it is exfoliating soap. One side of the soap is rough with, well, a sand-type layer and the rest of it is creamy lathering soap. It's nice, but expensive. It's only 4.4 oz! Small, but worth it for a summer treat I guess.
