I am actually really surprised at the negative reviews. If I were to look at the makeupalley reviews before purchasing this face wash (like I usually do), I would not have purchased it - since I only try to purchase products higher then 3.5 stars at least. My skin is sensitive, and if i run my fingers over my skin, I used to be able to feel little bumps. Barely visible, but if you look really closely, they were there. Skin colored, and not really a problem - but an annoyance. I normally try to use a more natural and gentle face wash like Burt's Bees, etc. I discovered this face wash because I was at my friend's house and I spent the night. I forgot to bring my face wash with me, and this was all that she had. I was actually scared to use it because I have sensitive skin and redness, and I figured that all this cleanser would do was irritate my skin. Considering I don't have actual acne. I was so wrong. While cleansing my face, I was pleasantly surprised that it did not foam up much. Cleansers that foam up too much dry out my skin. After I rinsed it off, my face just looked very bright and "glowy". It took off my mascara as well which is a must. I figured I'd purchase this since it is such a reasonable price, and now it is a complete HG product for me. The little tiny bumps on my face are 100% gone, and my skin is always very smooth and bright looking from this cleanser. Maybe its just the salicylic acid? I'm not too sure, but regardless this cleanser has worked wonders on my skin. It also doesn't flare up my redness, it actually disperses it if anything. I use this cleanser once a day even though I don't have acne, and it keeps my skin SO clear. I havent even gotten the occasional pimple since I started using it. Highly recommended!

I generally use a gentle cleanser on my face, but when my face starts getting oily and I breakout (monthly, ughh), I use this. It pretty much cleans all the oil off my face, and clears my skin up quick.

This sucks. Really bad. I hated it. It didn't clean my skin and it doesn't take off make up at all. It doesn't even make suds when putting it on. They should put the foaming wash in the 3 step package instead because I love that stuff. But i absolutely hated this.

This product is horrible! I've used it w/ my clairsonic thinking this would actually be good for my skin and it would help my face clear out but after 5 days of usage(I only used it once daily) it absolutely damaged my skin leaving it dry and sore especially on my forehead and jaw line. I had to go through a week of natural masks and applying moisturizer every few hours to somehow restore my skin.

I can't say I'm a fan of this cleanser. When I first used it I thought I was gonna love it. But then I started to notice that after washing my face with this one I didn't have a feeling that my face was thoroughly clean. And I found the smell being too strong too. I just don't think that it is good for my skin and removes all the dirt. And it didn't do anything for improving my skin condition either.

I bought this when I couldn't find my normal Clean&Clear cleanser. It's nothing special. I thought it was a bit runny. The scent is way too strong, and I personally don't find it very pleasant. US $5.97 for 5 oz in WalMart.

I'm reviewing for new advantage 3-in-1 foaming cleanser.

Actually, I've been using old advantage cleanser for more than 5 years
since I found this product for the first time i've never used anything else.
However, clean and clear discontinued making the old ones and came out with this new fomula.

It isn't expensive but not cheap either. But for the same price, they increased from 147ml to 200ml?(I dont have the bottle with me so i dont really remember)

Packaging has changed from tube to transparent bottle with pump
as long as what's inside is good, i think the packaging doesn't bother me at all.

The consistency of the cleanser has changed too.
before it was white non transparent gel and now is transparent liquid
I must say i prefer the previous one. Meantime, I can see why they had to make pumped bottle for the new one because it is very liquidy..

Also, they changed the frgrance too.
I so much prefer the previous one compared to this new one
I feel like im washing my face with shampoo
and the smell is quite strong..as it lingers after a while i wash my face

It is much more drying than the previous one
but i dont really care because i always use moisturiser after washing
and i only use it at night

What i like about the new fomula is that
it lathers much better than the previous one
when i make it to lather it is more dense that the old one

will i buy again?
yes. until i find decent 2% salicylic acid cleanser..I dont know why it isn't very easy to find good drug store cleanser...

This works well to get all the oil and dirt out because my skin feels taut and dry after washing with this. It hasn't worked miracles on my acne...yet. I actually broke out the first few times I used it. It's a bit annoying when the product doesn't come nicely out of the tube.

I purchased this cleanser as a part of Clean and Clear's kit. I am disappointed in the fact that the cleanser will bleach clothing and pillowcases. This bleaching effect is my main grief with this product.

I bought the 3-in-one Advantage Acne Cleanser from the C&C Advantage line. It was just okay for me. Personally, I like the Continuous Acne Cleanser better. It's creamier and leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed. The Advantage Acne wash seems to leave my skin a little layer of soap scum.

The percentage of the benzoyl peroxide is quite low as well. For the Continuous Acne Cleanser, it's 10%. For this, it's 5% and from what I heard from other people, this cleanser is supposed to be a newer, improved version of the Continuous Acne Cleanser. For a buck more, I don't see better results so I'm sticking to my Continuous Acne Cleanser. And the little exfoliating beads didn't work for me. I find it to be annoying and I rather use my St. Ives Apricot scrub for exfoliation. I only resulted to this cleanser because Walmart kept running out of the Continuous Acne Cleanser and I really needed the benzoyl peroxide treatment. My skin was starting to break out in blemishes after 2 weeks of not using the Continuous Acne Cleanser.

i personally thought this product was okay... well like it worked for some time like a couple weeks, then i think it sort of stopped working either that or its the stress from school or both. it feels okay. :/ BUT i got it for a pretty nice price. just get one of those small containers at target to try it out. =)

IT SUCKS.
seriously, i HATE this cleanser.
this was my first cleanser i bought to try clear up my forehead acne 2 years ago,
and from this product, i started getting pimples on my cheeks. since i thought i need to use this all to get good results, i kept using this product till it was nearly empty. BAD IDEA. cheeks kept breaking out & existing pimples did not heal fast enough
for a year, i suffered from sore, red, disgusting pimples on my cheeks. after this cleanser, i tried so many other clean & clear and neutrogena products, st.ives scrubs, ivore pore cleansing strips/ cleansers & proactiv,
and finally, im free of pimples & its been over a month since i've gotten any. however, im left with acne scars & hyperpigmentations all over my cheeks, and its taking much too long to fade, even with a skin lightening lotion :((((!!! if you dont wanna become like me, DO NOT USE THIS CLEANSER.
it worsens your skin problems & gives you new pimples!!

This is my favorite cleanser for my oily face. Leaves my skin soft and thoroughly clean and has a nice scent, too bad they appear to have discontinued it.

i love this cleanser, but clean and clear has some better cleansers in my opinion.
although this cleanses well, i use it with a cellulose sponge to exfoliate at the same time. it leaves my skin smooth and soft.
the scent at first was a bit too strong and a little bit srange but i got used to it.

~ I do not have acne on my face at all, except for the occasional hormonal breakout at the end of the month or breakouts from stress. I purchased this cleanser because it was $4.00 and I was looking for a quick fix and I actually have to say I like it very much. Since this contains SA I know that it can be quite drying, so I would not recommend that you use this everyday. I use this to remove my makeup every few days because it deep cleans extremely well :) the last week I was a bit stressed out can got a few blemishes and the my jawline that were so painful! I used this for about 2 days and they were dried out quite nicely without leaving that peeling skin behind- however if you do have acne and use this daily make sure you use a good moisturizer and toner to prevent those flakes. All in all I'm glad I tried this but I will not repurchase because I love trying new products all the time =) however if it will do anything great for my skin I may just buy it again, also for an acne cleanser it has a really nice fresh scent. ~

I've always been a big fan of Clean & Clear products b/c they work well, I used to use this 7 years ago as a teen and thought it was ok, however, I bought this on a whim at Ulta cuz it was onl sale for $2.99. This product is kind of a waste b/c it's so runny that U use so much of the product if ur not careful, I only had it for about 3 weeks and it's almost empty!!!!!! As far as the name that it claims, it does NOT fight or help w/ clearing ur acne at all!!!!! it just smells good and cleans ok, I've had better cleanser, I find the one in the green bottle that smells minty, works much better than this! This one costs about $6 normally, I WOULD SOOOO NOT RECOMMEND paying that much for the kind of quality ur getting. I also find that at first it kinda helps w/ my skin for about 2-4 days and then it went downhill and stopped working, and now my skin is drying and breaking out WTF?????? I will use up all the products on here and then find something else.

Yes, this cleanser has salicylic acid, so IT'S DRYING. People should take that into consideration before they buy it. However, I have combo skin and only break out in my oily forehead. So I only use it on my forehead, and it's totally fine! PLUS it really fights acne, noo jokee! When I first started using this, yes I didn't know about the drying effects of salicylic acid and used it on my entire face, which made my nose peel hella crazy. And it was winter. So just use it on oily acne-prone skin, it will be perfect! I loved it, it cleared my oily acne-prone forehead.

I'm still not sure how I feel about this. The first couple of weeks I used it I broke out really bad. I was hoping it was just getting everything out and was clearing it up, but still not that much progress. I've only been using it for a little less than a month.

This cleanser is kind of liquid-y, so I had to try different water combinations to make it lather. That aside, this cleanser did almost nothing for my acne, it has a interesting scent, but that doesn't do any good when it doesn't serve its purpose. Having combination skin, it wasn't too drying, but I definitely won't buy again since it seemed to make me break out around my nose.
