I bought this in Europe for about 130 SEK/15€, and I'm really happy with it! The colour is intense without looking cheap, and I only needed 1-2 layers to make it opaque. The nail polish also came with the new broader brush, which I prefer over the old one. I think this colour stays on better than my other colors by Essie, but that might also be because I bought it during Christmas and stayed at home a lot.

Love love love! Bought it when I ran out of my fav (OPI's Red Hot Ayers Rock) and couldn't find a bottle at my local Trade Secret. I think I like this even better! My favorite part is how shiny it is, even without topcoat. As the name would suggest it truly is "Really Red", but I think the color totally works, at least for me.

For years, this has been my summertime-red-toenail polish.
It is a radiant, bright red with strong blue undertones. No orange undertones.
Among the 3 reds from Essie I own (Really Red, A-List and Fishnet Stockings), this is the brightest and least classic red. And definitely the most cool-toned of my reds.
With this one, I need to put two coats on to make the colour opaque. Otherwise, it is more sheer and streaky than my other red shades. But when you have the two coats, it´s just lovely.
For reference, I´m a MAC NC20/BB sand with neutral-olive undertones. This colour works with my skin-tone quite well.
A true summertime colour that really pops on your toenails and is very prominent. Very fresh and just what you feel a good red should be on a hot summer day. But not cheap, not tacky, more of a "refreshing, sparkling and young" red than a "grown up" red in the best sense.
Maybe that´s the reason I never wear it on my hands. It doesn´t look good on my hands as it is too bright for my taste and I prefer a more classic red on my hands.

Heavily pigmented, thin formulation that applies super easy. You could probably get away with one coat on this one. Nice classic red colour with a shiny finish. It is very close to OPI Big Apple Red, but a tiny tiny bit lighter. A classic!

I prefer OPI's Big Apple Red over Essie's version of the true red only because it takes 2-3 coats with Essie's over 1.5-2 coats for BAR. Just a personal preference kind of thing.

Score! I am not necessairly an Essie girl but trade secret is no longer going to be selling it so I picked up this shade for a dollar. I am impressed with the formula. Its not my favorite red, nevertheless a worthwhile addition to my collection. Applied in one coat.

This is a very pretty red. It isn't too blue or too orangey. However, Revlon's All Fired up is just about the same color. I would only buy this again if I couldn't find the Revlon polish. The Revlon polish is almost half the price.

Holy bright classic crème red! I’m a bit of a nailpolish newbie and I’ve never owned a true bright red, so I was overjoyed when I found this at Marshall’s. I’m quite warm toned so I was fearful this would look “pinkish” on me, but that was not the case. It’s a beautiful striking red, sure to drawn attention. Two coats were adequate for even coverage on my toenails and it lasted a good week and half before I had to remove it. I will say that this may be too loud of a red for certain occasions, but I’m quite pleased with it. I’m not so sure I would purchase it again at full price as I’m sure there is a drugstore equivalent, but hurray, I finally have my bright glossy red!

Very nice, true red creme with nice application. I don't own too many true red cremes, because a. boring, and b. orange reds usually look better on me (I'm warm-toned). But I'm glad I own this.

Yep, great color! I bought it for my Valentine's pedicure and it's perfect. After the first coat I thought, "oh no, this won't work!" It looked very cool toned, blue base, pinkish. I almost didn't put a second coat and was going to just take it off but decided to go ahead and the second coat, like magic, turned the color from pink to a very nice, neutral red. I cannot do blue based reds so this one really is nice and neutral and works perfectly even on my very warm skin. 2 coats perfect!
Edit: Taking off a point because this seems to chip more than my other polishes.

My favorite "true red" nailpolish! It's a really bright, not-too-pink-or-orange creme red. The staying power is great and you only need 2 coats for an opaque finish. This is one of the few nailpolish bottles I might actually finish!

I love red polish but I'm not really happy with this product. Although the colour is truly beautiful (just like everyone said it is a true red) I get a decent coverage after applying three coats. With one coat only the colour is very sheer more pink than red. It is also very streaky so I have to be very careful when applying it. Another problem which seems to be the case with all Essie polishes is that I only got through around a fifth of the bottle and the formula has already changed and started getting gloopy. The staying power is very good but all in all this one is a disappointment. Will definitely not repurchase. OPI Big Apple Red is definitely much better. It is nearly the same colour (maybe just a touch warmer) but the formula is definitely much better with no streaking and a fairly decent coverage. When it comes to Essie I'm moving onto Jelly Apple, Russian Roulette and Forever Young to see if these are going to be any better.

I'm a red nail polish connaisseur and this one is my ultimate favorite. Not too blue, not too orange, just a perfect true red. Looks good when I'm tan and when I'm pale. It's the best.

this is the perfect red creme nail polish! i think this would be flattering on any skin tone. it looks really great for a classic red pedicure and it only needs two thin coats to be opaque. i love it!

This is my favourite colour shade! It is a bright red and my mum bought it for me to prove her point that the "red" essie shade I had previously (not sure what the name is but much darker) was a dark shade of pink. When she gave me this shade I called her crazy and insisted it looks orange. Well she has proven me wrong. It is the most beautiful truely, honestly, undeniably really RED shade ever and has the same great texture every other essie polish has; goes on so easily, shines more beautifully than any other brand and stays on for ages. LOVE IT!!!

So I bought this because Allure had this as best red polish...I LOVE it. I painted my toes with it and I can't stop staring at my feet. I normally don't even paint my nails red, usually pink or french but I just had to because this is so eye catching and classy. Essie nail polish is becoming an obession...

Really Red is a nice, bright true red creme. I think this shade is perfect for a pedi. It looks fine with one coat, but a little better with two (as most polishes do). The polish I used before Really Red was thicker and had a larger brush. I actually prefer the smaller Essie brush and slightly thinner formula for painting my toenails with the two thin coats. It applies nicely without a lot of mess around the edges. I usually prefer deeper shades for winter, but this is nice year-round and ideal for summer. If you have a ton of red polishes (like I do) you might not need this one, but if you are looking for a nice bright red, definitely consider this.

Great eye-popping cherry red creme from Essie. I've tried so many reds and I always come back to this one. I've received numerous compliments when wearing this, and I thought "Wow, could a normal red get this much attention?". I guess it isn't normal! *PIC*

Wow. This is shockingly red. I love this on my toes for a pop of color. It has no shimmer, which is a nice change of pace. You definitely need two coats to get the rich red color or else it's kinda pink.
