The Sephora compact foundation gives coverage..
It also made my skin very oily and after 2 weeks horrible breakouts!
It also had a funny smell to it, so I asumed I had a bad one. I decided to throw it away and give my skin a break. After 2 months I took another shot, since there was a nice promotion going on at Sephora: I bought myself a new one and made sure my brush was clean & desinfected:
Same story: funny smell, oily skin and breakouts after only two days!
I'm never touching this product again.. Very happy with my powder FX mineral compact foundation now.

I've been using BE Matte, but was looking for something simpler and less messy to try. After hearing recommendations for this powder from 2 different people, I decided to test it out. I was really happy with the shade that was rec'd to me by the Sephora salesperson because it's usually hard for me to find a good color match. I have neutral to yellow undertones, but a lot of red in my face due to current acne and old scars. C22 matched my skin perfectly. I wear Medium Beige in BE and C3 in Studiofix. The consistency of the powder was really fine and not cakey when applied with the BE Heavenly Face brush I already own. Coverage was really good, although I still had to wear concealer on trouble spots and red areas. The only trouble with the packaging is that I wish this had a mirror. I wore this all last weekend. It stayed on all day and skin looked great in pictures. I thought I had found my new foundation, until I woke up with 2 huge cystic pimples covering my entire chin on Monday. The horror. I still break out frequently, but I haven't had the cystic variety of pimples in several years so I know it was due to this powder. I'm really disappointed this didn't work out for me since the price for this is reasonable and the coverage and color match is great. Back to BE I guess.

I didn't expect much to be honest but I was pleasantly surprised. I have never, never, never liked compact foundation, and I've only ever used loose minerals. The packaging is sleek and convenient, and it lasts all day.

As for powder foundations I found this one to be decent. The coverage was nice. The color stayed true through the day. Purchased mine with the entire kit from Sephora, though I was not real into the fact that they put a cream concealer with it. Overall I could see me purchasing it again.

I tried this on in store and went home. When i got home several hours later the coverage was still as perfect as it was when i put it on. It come with a padded applicator with two sides. Side one is white and meant for light coverage and the other side is black and meant for heavier coverage. The pad is good but i use a kabuki brush instead. I feel like it leaves a more natural look. The only reason i gave it four stars instead of five is because. If i scratch my face or wipe it lightly with a napkin some of the foundatuon wipes off. However, i think a good primer can resolve that problem!!!! All in all, im really surpriseds by some of the negative reviews! I totally reccommend this product!

I HATED this powder!! I tried giving it so many chances and I really tried to like it, but I seriously can't stand this product so i ended up returning it. Although this does give really good coverage, it makes me soooo oily! I don't know what's with this powder but I seriously feel like a grease ball within 2 hours of applying it. It also makes me look really cakey too. Blegh .. i hate it!

I have this in D40 to use as a contour color. It works well for pulling in the sides of my face just right. It's a little pricey, but since I use it for just contouring it lasts a good while.
Downside would have to be the packaging. The top of my compact sort of fell off and it's very loosely attached right now. I have to be so careful opening the container as to not pull the whole top off. Given, I've had the compact for about 6 months, but even my L'Oreal compacts are holding up better!

I agree with other review that this product cause break out so bad. I went to sephora and tried this one on and just a few hours later when I got home and took it off, I could feel my face have something undersin going on. And the morning after I had 4-5 huge pimples just appeared on my face. I was not sure it was the Sephora product, but the other day I went back to Sephora and tried on the concealer. I had the same reaction with the powder. They totally put some ingredients in their products that some people like me break out so badly. But overall, this powder feels smooth and gives good coverage.

Holy heck girls. I bought this powder because I thought it looked great for the price and the color match was good. I used it for a while and was pretty happy when...I broke out in cystic acne! And I have never had acne! I actually had to visit my derm and get a steroid injection because the cyst on my jawline was about the size of a dime!
I think the culprit in this powder may be "bizmuth" something or other. I don't know for sure because I can't find ingredients for this powder. But this was a definite deal breaker for me. I suppose if you are not sensitive, this would be a good pick because of the price and color range.

Well, at first i have to tell you i have sensitive combination skin.
actually, i am asian so i have medium yellow based skin so my perfect shade is no. D30 (mac sff NC37).
Before using this i use a hydraing gel- creme and then i apply this powder over my whole face with a sponge which comes with. After appling it, my face looks so amazingly matt, fresh and healthy. It has full coverage does not get chalky but feels very light on my face like i have no make up on. The price es tres bien, only 13euro..
->I love this stuff bc it does not irritate my sensitive skin and matches my skin perfectly and isnt pricey at all!
EDIT 9/8/2010
I does not look good on camera because it contains SPF. My face looked so ashy and white, it kinda washed out my foundation and i had to do a lot of touch ups during the day.
i prefer Maybellin dream matte pressed powder over this product

This powder was on sale for cheap. I am a NC45 I bought D30 it was too white. I could still play it off with bronzer. D40 was okay too. The powder and coverage is light. I always have to use more product on problem areas such as the t-zone. Making me use the product faster. The coverage was not cakey. It is not bad for the price.I would buy again if I was broke. LoL.

I bought this compact on a budget but I have to say it is very good for $25 I'm glad I paid the money! I put it on in the moring using a power brush after my concealer for more coverage .it dosen't go on cakey at all and I'm really happy about that.it has SPF 22.this product also comes with a mirror that is pretty helpful.the sponge is ok ,I only use it for touch ups.
Overall my skin does not get oily or sweaty thoughout the day.it is comfortable and it only take me two minutes to apply .
Note:some people complain about the coverage a foundation gives them.if you need a lot of coverage use a concealer.

I dont think I can live without this compact! I have been buying this for 4 years! Everytime I run out I buy more. I just think its a versatile foundation that can be used many ways. When I first asked the SA about it she showed me ways to wear it. Gives light to medium coverage. I use D32.
1) You can use it wet with a moist sponge to dip it in the powder and it goes on for a light coverage
2)You can use a brush and use it as a powder/finish powder (which I use it for)
3)Use it with the sponge it came with and pat it on your face
I love this product! I find it great for dry skin. The packaging is super convenient and the sponge is great too. It provides the coverage you need depending how you use it.The finish is matte and does not look cakey. Only wished this product had some spf.
*UPDATE: Man I perhaps have gone through over 10 of these compacts since 2006. 9-23-2010, I have discovered Diorskin forever compact and I love it for my very dry skin. Although Sephora is cheaper, it doesn't help my dry skin.

I happen to like this product a lot. It has the coverage that I was looking for and it is something that you can pop into your purse to take with you for touch-ups. The staying power is pretty good since I do not touch my face too often. My face definitely looks much more even-toned after applying this, which makes me happy :) My only problem with this product is that i have to keep on flipping for the mirror when I'm applying foundation on the go. But other than that this was a pretty good buy; i would definitely buy this again :)

For my dry skin, this powder goes on cakey, doesn't offer very much coverage, (I actually have decent skin, I don't even need that much coverage, this just went on and gave me cake face) and the packaging is awkward and horrible. Flipping between the powder and mirror is a hassle. $20 doesn't seem like much for powder, but this has a little more than half the content you could get with MAC Studio Fix for a few dollars more, not to mention a better product. I think with dry skin like mine you need a product that isn't so dry like this one is. I don't have any acne, and just like something to even out my skin a little bit but this did absolutely nothing good. Would not repurchase.

This isn't a bad product but it didn't work with my skin either. It accentuated the dry skin on my nose pretty badly but it didn't break me out and kept my face matted all day. I still ended up exchanging it for the Sephora brand liquid foundation instead.
Overall, I would only recommend it if you have oily skin or plan on using only in the summer.

I really like this product. I have oily, acne prone skin so I really have to be careful with what I put on my face. This powder has yet to cause break outs and I have used it for a few months now. It's really great for coverage and can be used alone, as it is a foundation, or to set your foundation, though I would suggest you use it sapringly in the second instance. When I wear it alone I tend to use the sponge applicator as it layers it on better and provides that nice coverage, whereas if I wear it on top of something I use a powder brush. It lasts a fari ammount of time though you may have to reapply in the T-zone after a few hours depending on your skin. Overall it's a great product and I completely intend to purchase again. For the quality, the price is also perfect!

This is a nice powder foundation with very good coverage. I usually use MAC studio fix but decided to try a different powder foundation (as there are many there are just as good if not better) and I was pleased! It's a great price, has a nice sponge and is mineral based. All in all, I would buy again!

I think this is the review for the mineral compact-which is the one I purchased.
I really like this compact the coverage is nice and matte and the mineral foundation is appealing. I bought this for an on the go type thing to carry in my purse for touch ups. It has 2 sides of the sponge if you call it a sponge, more like a velvety sponge but one is for light coverage and the other side is for heavier coverage.
The color matched my skin completely as I spent a good amount of time in Sephora choosing a color. Goes on silky smooth and doesn't irritate at all. The only thing I don't really like is that you have to flip the mirror up and grab the sponge and do this weird back and forth thing to be able to see the mirror and then grab more powder. It is a little pricey too but overall I like this powder and I like the ingredients.

I'm in love with this foundation. I normally use BE, but since I have some acne and very oily skin, I have a pretty time-consuming morning cleansing regime, and when you add time to apply super-full-coverage BE with eyes, cheeks, lips, etc., sometimes it adds up to be way too much to do if I want to get to work on time.
So a couple of weeks ago I came across this compact at Sephora. It piqued my curiosity, since I used to use something like this made by MK, but MK's version broke me out, so I stopped using it. But THIS foundation said "matifying," (spelled wrong by either the French or Italians, since it was designed in France and made in Italy) so it got my hopes up that my skin would be safe this time. So I tried it. How did it turn out? It's my in-a-hurry HG, that's how it turned out! Lovely packaging, mirror and sponge included. I get great coverage from the sponge, I haven't tried applying with a brush yet, and it keeps me matte and oil-free throughout the day without my MK oil mattifier or BE Oil Control Prime Time primer, which amazes me. It feels like there's nothing on my skin, too. This foundation is the best find I've had in years. I'm thrilled, and I highly recommend this for others with oily or combination skin.
I don't recommend it for anyone with dry skin--not only does it say "mattifying," which means it isn't really for the dry-skinned; there's also the fact that someone as oily as I am wears it and it absorbs all of my abundant oil. I can't imagine how that would turn out for people with dry skin, so do yourself a favor and avoid it. If you have oily skin, though, get thee to a Sephora and reach for this heavenly stuff!
As far as shade availability goes, it's really great. There are two shades that work on my face, R15 and R20 ("r" stands for rosé, which means pink-undertoned), and I've purchased one of each. Usually, I buy the lightest foundation shade available, because my skin oxidizes everything I try on my face, so the light foundation darkens to match my face color within just a few minutes. But with this compact, I can actually buy my true-to-color shade, so I've decided to wear the R20 shade, which matches my skin exactly and does NOT oxidize/darken during the day. Hooray!
EDIT: I have been using this for a month now, and I've almost completely stopped wearing my BE foundation, this stuff looks so wonderful and works so well. Woo hoo!.
