I initially bought this product on the advice of a hairdresser at a Bumble and Bumble salon after a haircut. When I first used it, I absolutely hated it - it made my hair dry, straw-like and frizzy.

Now I discovered how to use it and I really like it, even though it's very expensive for what it does. I use it now to revive my hair between washings. I have very fine, thin, curly hair, dry hair and I normally had to wash my hair everyday because it got greasy at the roots.

Now I wash my hair only every few days. On the days I don't wash my hair, I rinse it in the shower, and spray this product on my damp hair - I focus on the roots and use quite a bit of product. I then run my hands through my damp hair to distribute the product.

My hair looks great afterward, and I also think it looks way healthier now -- it used to be very dry and I had trouble with split-ends, etc.

Overall, despite the expense, I would buy this product again. I really like not having to wash my hair everyday, and I would definitely recommend it for people with fine hair.

Edit to add - if you have fine dry hair like I do, don't use this product on the same day you wash your hair - it will make your hair much more dry. I was ready to throw this product in the trash because of that.

ACK!! I bought this spray to use as a quasi vitamin serum for my hair. I loved its ingredients: hops, rosemary, biotin, amino acids. But this didn't moisturize OR make my hair look healthier. And for some reason, Bumble and bumble's fragrance irritates my scalp like crazy!! I don't know if the culprit is the diazolidinyl urea (formaldehyde-releasing preservative) or limonene (irritating fragrant component). But I couldn't stop itching my scalp and was losing way more hair. I have this problem with Aveda as well.

I use this as a next day style refresher and it works wonderfully to perk up my hair and bring back the bounce and texture. This is a must have b+b product for me!

Love this product. Helps detangle and prep hair for product. I always use this as it helps other product distribute evenly. Think of this as a primer for the hair. Smells lovely as well.

Edit: I have used this, as my friend is an assistant and I borrowed it for a while. She later told me this is intended for untreated hair. Tonic is better suited for colored or chemically treated hair.

I have long fine hair and this doesn't do a thing do it but make it more dry. It certainly doesn't add moisture, which is what I want a leave-in to do. I wanted it to protect my hair from blow drying and my ends were rough and dry after.

I have long, thin hair and it's a struggle for me to find leave-in products that add moisture without weighing my hair down or making it look greasy. A tiny amount of Prep adds moisture and controls frizz and keeps my hair healthy. I usually spray it all over my palms, then "scrunch" it into my hair with my fingers. I bought a 2 oz bottle in January, use Prep every day or every other day, and I still have half the bottle left. Very good value for money. I highly recommend this product to others with a similar hair type.

Prep is some sort of hair primer, I didn't know we needed those (I don't even use a face primer), but now I can't live without. =) It smells great IMO, but the best thing about it, is that it detangles my hair after washing and makes it SO MUCH easier to deal with. Also it makes me able to go one day longer without washing my hair: I make my hair a bit damp, spray it on followed by a bit of thickening spray, and style it with my hairdryer.

I love this stuff. I love the way it smells: fresh, a little citrusy, and kind of unisex. It is ideal for restyling hair in the morning. If you spray it on the root area and comb it through, it helps redistribute your hair's natural oils down the hair shaft. This is great for people who have long hair and don't wash it everyday (shampooing is too drying on a lot of people's hair to do it everyday), because it will freshen up your hair without a wash. It also feels great to spray it on the scalp if your scalp is dry or itchy, and you don't have to worry about it making your roots greasy, because it doesn't coat the hair. This was so much better than the Oscar Blandi Jasmine Protein Mist for Restyling Hair. That product could be kind of coating, and yet was not very effective. But this is so different. As much as I love it, I can't say it's purely essential - Sephora is out of it right now, so I'm doing without, but I miss it! It's pricey too, and I'm a cheapskate, but I will definitely buy it again. I recommend getting the little mini bottle to try it out.

Of all the Bumble and bumble hair products I've tried, this is my favorite. I have fine straight hair and this helps detangle while making my strands soft and shiny.

Effective when used (sparingly) to refreshen/revive hair between washes and before blowdrying/air-drying. Not as effective if used liberally as tends to overwhelm hair. Bottle lasts for months if used in this way. Scent a bonus.

After reading reviews, I decided to try. Do not Like. Helps with tangles so-so, but does nothing else it claims to. I actually think it is making my hair more dry/frizzy. Will not purchase it again.

I don't know how I managed to live to 26 without knowing what detangler is. I even had to cut out tangled hair on several occasions - not any more! The first detangler I found was B&B and I love it so much I am not looking to try any other brand. It does not weight my hair down, does not it greasy...it is simply amazing!

I am consistently impressed with Bb products. I see a difference when I use products together rather than just using one at a time. I've gotten into a hair routine that gives me great blowouts for 3 days. (Note - I was already able to go 3 days without washing my hair. I don't mean that Bb will allow you to do this if you've never done it before. It took me a couple weeks to train my hair to do this.) I wash using my shampoo du jour (currently Biolage color care until it runs out, then back to Bb) and condition with Bb Super Rich. I spray Prep all over my towel dried hair and comb it out. Then I use Bb Styling Lotion and spray all over before blowdrying. Prep is excellent for my hair, which tends to be pretty tangly. My length just reaches my shoulders and I highlight every 8-10 weeks. I previously had very dry ends, but not washing every day has changed that immensely. Prep has an interesting smell, kind of herbal to me, but I don't dislike it. I don't know exactly what it does, but if I use Styling Lotion or another Bb product by itself, it's just not as good without using Prep as my foundation. I'm a Bb girl now and would definitely buy again.

not sure what to make of this: the spray doesn't really *hold* anything, but it does provide texture + it's useful for adding definition at the end of the day as a pick-me-up. not crazy about the smell- not fruity nor flowery.

This product really surprised me. I thought it was just hype, well it is not! It helps keeping my hair soft, and I use it before styling my wet hair and to revive my dry hair in between washes. It smells pleasant and the spray bottle makes it easy to get the right amount. I really like it, but would not repurchase as it is not an essential product.

Yep, I'm hooked. I have fine lightly layered wavy hair that tends to go dry looking since I keep it blond. This product makes such a difference in the manageability and healthy-looking-ness and really helps to spread other styling products layered over it more easily. Yes it's pretty expensive and I've gone through probably 5 bottles over the years, but I tried going without it, and what a difference! I spritz about 8 or so pumps all over my head on towel-dryed hair and then comb it through and than layer on some styling product, blow it out with a vented round brush and voila! A gorgeous shiny healthy head of
blond hair. Thanks B&B this stuff is a winner!

I just tried this, and it's the best product I've found (Bumble & Bumble or otherwise)!!! I have very fine hair, and when a lot of time has passed between cuts my hair tends to get more and more tangly, to the point of forming dreadlocks! It's always been a battle to detangle my hair. The first time I tried this I sprayed it on my dry, windblown (tangly) hair. I sprayed twice, and I noticed a difference immediately when combing out my hair. So I sprayed all over and I EASILY combed out all my tangles! Anyone with fine hair knows that it is the worst for getting tangled. Combing out those tangles HURTS, and this product made me comb out my hair with ease. I find it expensive, but for me it is worth the price. Hopefully a bottle will last me a while. Right now I have mini trial size, but I will be buying the full size very soon.

After reading all the reviews I decided to spend the $$$ and give this B&B product a try. I haven't liked pretty much all the B&B products I've tried ... and this was no different. I like the packaging a lot. The Prep made my hair feel dirty once it dried. Kind of "sticky" and, well, just dirty feeling... I didn't find that it helped with comb-thru at all. Smell is fine (hardly noticed any at all), price is high. I need something to help detangle and this made virtually no difference. I'll give this to my daughter and won't re-purchase. Maybe I used it incorrectly? Used too much? Not enough? In any event, not worth it to me...!

i love love love this! I go to a bumble and bumble salon so they always use this after i get my hair done. I never use any styling products in my hair except this one. This product has the LIGHTEST holding effect on however i style my hair and keeps it that way. It makes extremely soft and shiney. Also something random ive noticed is when i use this product i dont have to wash my hair as soon as i usually do.
EDIT: You really don't need a lot of this product just spray around your hairline and work it in. Also stated using the thickening spray on top of this and my hair looks so shiny and feels amazing. IF YOU CAN FIND A SALON THAT SELLS THIS THEY USUALLY HAVE A 6 OR 9 DOLLAR BOTTLE IN CASE YOU JUST WANT TO TRY IT OUT

This is a nifty little product but dare I say, superfluous if you are into keeping your regime streamlined / on a no-buy, etc. This is primarily a detangler and provides grip for subsequent styling products. When I use this, the style lasts for longer. No strong scent, no residue and the best detangler I have ever used. If you don’t need a detangler, I can’t see that much use for this product. Pumps a fine mist and if you blow dry your hair afterwards, makes it feel as if you have used expensive shampoo/conditioner when you have not. If you have hair that needs to be detangled, I highly recommend this. Price can be a bit inhibitive though.
