at first a blast of alcohol, then smoky, but fresh, bright smoky. reminds me of a calm version of CdG Tea. quite a surprise, even though I'd tested it at the store, I had not put it on my skin. Smells completely different on paper.

what a suprise this is -- i smell no musk whatsoever but only unsweet, subtle, and entirely wonderful wood. it is a *woody* fragrance -- period. will be a staple.

This is quite heavy, earthy, strong musk. Dark, musty and almost 'dirty'.

Weird take on musk - very woodsy, a bit sweet and slightly smokey. It starts off with a strong burst of alcohol, dries down slightly sweet and powdery (and unpleasant), and becomes tolerable only when it's been on my skin for a while. At that point, only the woodsy aspect is left over, and everything else (including the musk) has disappeared. To me this smells rather masculine, although I don't find it to be strong at all. The sweet-woods-smoke combo just does not work for me. Overpriced considering the poor, poor lasting power.

From the Etro website: Head notes: The scent starts out with the fresh, clean head notes of bergamot, grapefruit and verbena; Heart notes: Perfect accord of floral heart notes blends with warm, precious woods such as sandalwood, guaiacum and cedar; Base notes: Sweet, delicate base notes of Indian and musk emerge.I found this so light I could barely detect it at first but what I did smell was definitely towards masculine. It's a bit smokey, woodsy, warm ... I think it would be lovely for a man I think. Like clb97p it also reminds me of something which I cannot place.

Male. It's for men. They may not say so, but this is not feminine, and y'all know I don't hesitate to wear male fragrances and the DH wears feminine ones and we get along so well, but I would not wear this one..... I love the name ~Etro Musk~. Simply stated, yet maybe deceptive. It takes about twenty minutes to hit the sweet musk notes which are mostly white...but who knows? The musk part smells white, floral, and a little itsy bit soapy, but it isn't there alone yet at twenty minutes. This scent begins with strong vetiver, sandalwood and cedar notes mixed with citrus. It's a very woody fragrance, a touch toward masculine I thought at first. But now. Well.. I wish I could ramp it up just a little, make it decide what it is, but then no one else would buy it. I wish they had used a more animalic musk to go with the woods, but then no one else would buy it. It's the white musk in it that I don't like. I'll bet men would appreciate this scent for themselves more than they would for a woman. I'm giving it a 2 because it failed to make me swoon and the white frilly musk with heavy wood notes just plain bothers me.

I was disappointed in this musk. This is not a light, sweet musk--in fact, it was hard for my nose to even discern that this was a musk at all, at first, but after an hour or so I did acknowledge that a musk it must be. However, it smells JUST LIKE *something* and I don't know what. I will edit this review when it comes to me. There was an amber quality to this scent as well, which I was not expecting. Not my cup of tea.

Oh I'm in *love* with this stuff. Clean and light, sensual and subtle, with a slightly almondy/nutty undertone to make things interesting. The most perfect and addictive musk I've encountered so far.

I think this is new for Etro. As a musk lover, its a blast to try the musk/musc scents from different lines. No idea what the notes are in this, but on me it smells like faint acetone. It isn't really horrible but it isn't a way I want to smell anytime soon. I'll pass on it.
