I have Lush's "Honey I Washed the Kids" soap, and while this might not be an exact match, I would say it has a family resemblance. I really like this fragrance. It reacts well with my chemistry and does not morph into anything strange in the drydown. It lasts well, too. I got the dram pulse roller, which is a snap to apply.

LUSH Honey I Washed The Kids soap and forum perfume have a really nice fragrance that has a hint of honey to it, but it's not all honey or predominantly honey-like to me-- it has a toffee and orange scent to it as well. DSH's Lush Honey is supposed to be inspired by LUSH's HIWTK soap, but I must disgree and say that I really don't find the two anything alike. Lush Honey is nauseating to me. It's very potent in the oil form and it makes me feel like I'm getting a stomachache. Ugh, no thanks on this one. This doesn't smell like the honey I want to smell. It's dark and heavy like a mixture of dark honey and maple syrup. It smells almost like pancake syrup and not really like honey or toffee. Not even close to what I thought it would be from its wonderful description. It's really strong and lasting, in a bad way. I really don't like this "honey" scent, and I like most honey notes and perfumes. LUSH HIWTK is a much better scent overall, although that one isn't exactly a true honey scent either. No comparison between the two, though. HIWTK wins for sure. Dawn (of DSH) has much better gourmand scents than this one.

I did not expect to like this. In fact, if a dear MAUer friend hadn't sent it to me with high praises, I probably would have passed on this. I love the opening! I enjoyed the tobacco, and although tobacco is not listed in the notes, the tobacco is very present here. I am not a gourmand girl, and this is probably the very first gourmand fragrance I really enjoyed testing. This is the smell of real dark honey. There is no plastic note here, no synthetic feel to this fragrance. On me this is sweet, but the tobacco and the raisin notes make it wearable. I smell Honey, tobacco, raisins, and Tonka beans (maybe a little dirt too?) This has great staying power. Cons: It turns into Pancake syrup/maple syrup smell after a few hours on me.

lush honey takes 3 lippies only because it starts with a very potent and metallic lily of the valley, that makes it practically unwearable.still after 5 min.the most true and dark honey fills the air.this is a honey from thyme or pine not one from flowers or fruit.it's nectar for the gods .it's not to nutty on my nose but it's great.the drydown stays true for 5 -6 hours and i love the sweetnes of tonka bean and the slightly animalic sensuous note of ambergris..maybe a 4 lippies after all.my BF also adores it

Lush Honey is amazing - my ultimate comfort scent! It's a warm blend of caramelized brown sugar and honey on me. Warm and rich, staying close to the skin, this oil has excellent lasting power. I am further convinced that Dawn is indeed a genius...I will continue to purchase Lush Honey for as long as it's availible. Though inspired by it, this smells infinitely more luscious than Lush's Honey I Washed the Kids soap... Lush Honey is HIWTK's much older, much more experienced cousin. Perfection. I can't get enough.

i think this is *AB FAB* truly honey smelling! it smells *exactly* like honey i washed the kids, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise (wink). if you tire of perfumes that last for a whole 5 minutes before fading to obscurity, you will love this-- it lasts. my handsome waiter said he was so attentive because he was mezmerized by the smell of me! (gush!) it's a pretty straightfoward honey-- not too complex, but that's just what i was looking for and i am sooo thrilled with it!

This is a really strong, cloying, bombastic frag. I'm getting strident notes of tobacco (DSH just loves to use that tobacco note, doesn't she?), raisins, honey and roasted nuts. Sounds great on paper, but is suffocating on my skin. If you want a honey frag, go for Botrytis. Did I happen to mention this scent is really, really, really strong?

Description from DSH website: Luscious and seductive honey with a light, sweet, floral top note and a super sexy, musky-gourmand dry down. Va Va Voom!

Composition: Top notes: Bitter Almond, Lily of the Valley/Muguet, Violet; Middle notes: Hazelnut, Honey, Honey Beeswax; Base notes: Ambergris, French Vanilla, Heliotrope, Musk, Tonka Bean.

This is a very sweet and syrupy honey scent. I'm unable to detect the floral notes at the beginning. Upon application, it's a sweet syrupy honey, and into the drydown it becomes more caramel-like and gourmand. Also the lasting power is quite good. I put this on before bed and could still smell it hours after I woke up the following morning. It smells very thick, and I think a sample vial could last someone a very long time since it is so potent. I prefer lighter honey scents, but for those that want a thicker, heavier and more gourmand scent, this is it.

I actually couldn't even bring myself to put this on my skin as it was so lush and so in your face foody honey that I wanted to spread it on my toast not my wrist. Ick.

I just cannot get over the stickiness of this fragrance. I truly feel as if I had spilled a jar of maple syrup on my wrists, and then perhaps smooshed some walnut pancakes on top. That's not to say that maple syrup is bad. I love the syrup note in Annick Goutal Sables, and I love the LUSH soap this emulates -- Honey, I Washed the Kids -- but in each case, the note is adequately balanced and supported, while here it's just...here, and overwhelming. It's lovely and indulgent, but too much, and too decadent. Oh, and there's this very, very weird henna note in the background that shows up in so many of DSH's caramel-based fragrances -- its rather muted in the EDP/EDT, but comes into full force in the oil.

Lush Honey is a rich honey scent that goes on the skin like gooey syrup. I am reviewing the oil and there is a maple sap note that underscores the fragrance. It adds a touch of woods to an otherwise straightforward dark honey. Way too sweet for me, it would be a good one to dab if you are seated for breakfast with a stack and cannot locate the maple syrup.

Mercy, mercy me. I will preface by saying I positively *adore* DSH, and think she is a genius. And, this is by far the sweetest, strongest version of any kind of honey I have ever sampled. Egad, it is sweet, thick honey and pancake syrup (!) and it sticks to your skin, and you are trying and trying to get it off, and even wondering how many layers of your lovely arm can come off before it stops smelling like lush honey... you get my point. Put the lush honey down, there you go... now back slowly away.
See, all better!!

I thought this would be a nice sexy
honey scent however on me it was
like taking some pancake syrup from
the diner table and putting it on.
way to strong on the syrup note.

I'm glad I sampled first! I was looking fwd to botrytis or LUSH HIWTK type honey. This smelled like maple syrup spiked with frangelico--hazelnuttty and brown. Definitely maple syrup not honey, in the sample and on my skin. I happen to like sweet foody scents, and adore hazelnuts, so I'm happy with the sample, but overall really not a honey scent at all :(

This only marginally smells like honey on me. What it smells exactly like to me is pipe tobacco, like a tobacco shop, no smoke, just that sweet but somewhat complex smell. I'm not a smoker, but some how this was alluring.

It's not nearly as sweet as I thought it would be, and it's actually fairly complex. Honey and tobacco.... maybe some whiskey, very interesting combo on me. This is a nice winter fragrance so I'm happy, although I coudn't wear it everywhere. The drydown was very maple syrup and very subdued.

Starts out very honey-ish, but dries down to a warm, sort of sensual, amberish, nutty scent. Seductive and easy to wear.

A strong honey scent, like honey-meets-pancake-syrup. Dizzyingly, toothachingly sweet, but not cloying; it reminds me of the way LUSH's Honey I Washed the Kids soap smelled in the store (before I brought it home and found it disappointingly plasticky and synthetic in the shower). It's too sweet for me to wear, but I look forward to springing it on someone exploring honey or sugar scents.

I wasn't that impressed when I sniffed this in the vial. It just smelled like straight honey to me. Pretty, but not really something I'd want as a perfume. But I dabbed some on and it really reacted well with my skin.

Strangely, it smells different on different parts of my body. On my wrists, it's very warm, rich, with an almost dark chocolate undertone, with a creamy floral. On the inside of my elbow, it smells like bright, golden honey with a little floral. On my wrists it's an excellent fall/winter scent, on my elbows it's a lovely spring scent. I'm really quite smitten with this.

God knows I love the smell of true honey, but this just didn't smell like it on me. It resembled not much more than maple syrup on my skin..... :o( Very disappointing because the blend sounded so beautiful on her website.
