This is my absolute favorite fall nailpolish. I love the formula - two coats looks great, lasts a week with a good top coat. Also the formula retains its consistency until you finish the bottle. And the color is gorgeous. It is the perfect dark red that I think would look great on many skin tones as I use this when I am pale or tanned. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful shade of deep red. The texture is smoothe and creamy. Last awhole week, with little chipping.

I just rediscovered this in my stash! I was looking for a polish to cheer me up in the dreary weather, and though it's (technically) summer, the gloom made bright colours feel inappropriate. So I put this on, and colour aside, it made me realise what an amazing formula this has! 2 coats leads to perfect, even colour, which seems slightly translucent and juicy. I don't get this kind of finish, even with the OPI and Essie products I have! Dries very quickly, too. I can't comment on the wear, it's been so long since I last wore this polish.
The colour is a vampy red in dimmer lighting and indoors, but outside, it glows - a dark, cherry red. I have yellow undertones, and the blue tones in this polish do not in any way make it difficult to wear. A very elegant colour.

I went to Mac to see if there were any new polishes and they seemed to only have different shades of red (that looked really bad in the bottle) and a super bright pink. I was running out of red nail polish, a color that looks great on my skin tone, and I thought of buying one, but they all looked brownish and "icky" in the bottle. For some reason, without looking at the name or anything I chose this polish and thought I should test my luck. Tried it a week later- ABOSOLUTELY AMAZING. THE CLASSIC RED. This red may look bad in the bottle, but it is a red that suits all skin tones. Would definitely repurchase. No streaks, great application, full color.

Excellent red shade that I bought for the upcoming holidays. A beautiful, sultry, blue toned deep red shade. Applies nicely and smoothly with super quick drying time, wear is exceptionally good, and will definitely repurchase.

So when I saw the rave reviews for this polish on here I decided I had to check it out...and I must admit when I first saw it at the MAC counter I wasn't impressed. I figured that I had a lot of polishes at home that were pretty much the same color and even if they weren't exactly the same, the shades I had were probably prettier. But, remembering the reviews, I decided to pick it up -and I'm soooo glad I did! While rougmarie looks boring and dull in the bottle it is the MOST gorgeous deep red nailpolish I have ever come across in my entire life. It's the perfect shade of red nailpolish (in my opinion of course) because it is neither too bright nor too blackened like many of my dark red polishes are. You've probably already guessed this but it's my HG red polish now :D

I'm very glad I bought this product. I love MAC's new formula, I think it's even better than Chanel's. It dries quickly and I only needed about 2 coats. The brush also makes it really easy to apply. I would definitely buy it again.

Love this colour! I have been looking for a perfect red for a while, one that was not too dark or frosty/sparkley, and this seems to "the one". My only gripe with this nail polish is that it seems to chip really easily, sometimes within one day of applying it. I'm use OPI's top coat too, but it doesn't seem to help. Regardless, I will continue to wear this product, as Rougemarie seems to be the perfect red for my skin tone (NC 15) and the application is great too (not streaky or gloppy).

Rougemarie is a gorgeous deep cherry red, glossy and simply very classic. Drying time is fast and wear is extremely good.

I love dark red nails, especially when they're not too long (neither too short). I don't have that many polishes, my fave being Chanel Rouge Noir. Whenever I've tried something else (normally d/s polishes) I've hated the results. I've been looking for a brighter red for ages and got stuck with polished that ended up looking sorta fuschia-ey. I can't for the life of mine paint my nails properly. So if the color isn't *truly* fool proof, I'll probably end up with streaky nails. And if you add the dreaded fuschia-ey hue... the results were just pathetic.

Enter MAC Rougemarie. This is a true cream red. With a couple of coats you can obtain an opaque, highly glossy, non streaky bright red (but not tacky) nail color. This lasts quite a while, too.

The applicator is kind of chunky itself, but not the brush, which is fine enough for a precise application.

I find it's best if applied over a base. I prefer the glossy kind. The colored polish glides over it, so it's easier to apply. I use Mavala Mavadry as a toap coat. It dries the polishes in just a min, to avoid ruining my manicure just seconds after doing it!

So, I now have my two favorite red colors: Chanel Rouge noir and MAC rougemarie, depending on wether I prefer a darker or a brighter shade of red. Quality is comparable, but MAC is cheaper!

Would def. buy again.

I know it's practically a sacrilege on MUA, but I have never purchased a MAC product. None of it has ever appealed to me in a big way... then I saw Rougemarie. Love, love, love this color! Nars Jungle Red has been my red cream polish for many years, but this is my new favorite. It is a plain and simple, blue red. Deep, but not gothy. Sexy, but not slutty. It has plenty of slip, giving me plenty of time to go back and touch up spots I inevitably miss. I can't attest to its staying power on fingernails, but it lasts at least 2 weeks on my toes. As long as MAC makes this, I'll be wearing it.

Love this color--glad its perm. It's a great red with a hint of violet (hence the blue red description)--it's vampy w/out the density. Compared to the Shirelle (MAC's other red) it's definitely a more sultry color-Shirelle looks more orange.

What a classic red! Rougemarie is part of MAC's core line of nail polishes. It's a classic, sexy, blood red and suits all skintones.
In the bottle, the color looks a tad brown, but on the nails, it's red. A deep blue-based red. I was actually comparing it to OPI's Malaga Wine as the two seem very similar, and Malaga Wine has more brown. I actually prefer Rougemarie, it's just so perfect.
The application was great! I added two coats for opacity. Unlike other MAC polishes, this one didn't chip which is definetly a plus. I used Nailtek Foundation II as a basecoat, two coats of Rougemarie, and one coat of Revlon Colorstay Topcoat.

I took off a point though for the price. Yes, Rougemarie is a fabulous red, but it is expensive, especially when compared to OPI and Essie prices. I would repurchase this color though because I have been on the hunt for the perfect red cream polish forever and this is it!

My favorite nail polish. It is so sexy. My DH has always hated red nail polish, well this even changed his mind, he said my toes looked like little candies! HAHA

It's a keeper, the perfect shade of red, I love it. Stays on a very long time, it is shiny and goes on very nicely. Great product.

Fantastic colour, although it varies very much from one coat to 2 or more. One coat gives a vivid bright red (although too streaky to leave it like that) while the second coat looks more like the colour from the bottle - deep, "almost" burgundy red.
Very pleased with the shine - no need for top coat.
I had to give it 4 lippies and not 5 because Mac varnishes don't last very well on me, they start chipping after 2-3 days, and I know there are better ones out there. Would repurchase because of the amazing colour.

My favourite red! It is a unique bloody crimson and glides on the nails like a dream. This polish is also far shinier than many other reds I have tried and has superior staying power. Dries very quickly. A very sexy polish.

WOW! This is the only MAC nail polish I have. My dh picked it out and thought I should wear it for NYE (I didn't think I really needed another red polish)...the reason I point this out is that today is January 10th, I painted my nails with this polish on December 30th and not a word of a lie, I do not have ONE SINGLE chip!!! I've never seen anything like it. And you know how the tips can wear a little & leave a bit of your nail showing? I have only the tiniest, barely perceptible bit of nail showing. I used my usual base coat (SH Double Duty) and my usual topcoat (Seche Vite). My nails certainly aren't as shiny as they were the first few days, but other than that I have a very near perfect manicure. For reference, I usually find my manicures stay perfect for 5 days before little chips & signs of wear begin.

Oh yes, with two coats this gives you a cool toned, medium red...think of fresh blood.
