I went for a Chanel m/u application (July 2004), and the MA put this on me.
I wouldn't have chosen it otherwise, as it looks rather green in the tube.
(I am learning, however, that I cannot judge products by how they look in
their containers; I have to try them on!) This is a lipgloss that comprises
gold and silver sparkles, which ordinarily would not appeal to me, but I
really like this product. You can put a bit over any coloured lipstick or
lipgloss and add dimension to your look. A poster on the MUA makeup board
suggested that Surprise was likely used on the model in the Aqualumieres ad
to gets that shimmery, 3D look for her lips. I use this product a lot; it's
very versatile. I often just put some on my lower lip in the middle (on top
of l/s or l/g), but sometimes I use it all over my lips over my colour l/g
or l/s. I tend to put some on my finger and then apply to my lips, since I
use it with so many colours and I don't want to muck it up. I"m not crazy
about how it comes in a tube with a wand applicator; since this is a product
used over other products, I'd prefer it in a different form, maybe with a
brush. The consistency seems fine; not too sticky for me. I think this
lipgloss will last for a while for me. It was expensive - about $27 Cdn, I
think - but it's fun to try a new product like this and I'm glad I bought
it. Unfortunately it's LE; otherwise I'd likely repurchase.

Wow!Leave it to Chanel to come up with another great glossimer. I tried this over Unity and it was gorgeous. It was a beautiful frosty pink. I then tried it over Force and got the same results. It changed the color to a frosty pink red. Gorgeous! Now what can we do about making this permanent???

I flip-flopped on this lipgloss for a long time. I'm really glad I ended up buying it - it's very flattering! When applied (and even in the tube) I don't see the green cast everyone mentions. What I see is a gold with most of the yellow removed, kind of a taupey gold. It makes my lips shimmer when applied alone (MMM, med. pigmented lips), and wakes up the color of bland lipsticks. The only complaint I have is the applicator - I have to swipe some with my finger to avoid mixing lipstick colors on the doe-foot. Other than that, this is one of my favorite l/g's of all time!

It's such a same this is Limited Edition! It's just not fair! This colour is incredible. It looked quite green in the tube but then it's a golden beige on my lips, really beautiful. You can use it on its own or over any lipstick to get a lovely shimmery effect. Gorgeous!

This didn't really work with my PPP Asian complexion- it actually made me look a bit sallow. It has a greenish tint in the tube which is quite scary, but goes on as a super sparkly golden shade. I can imagine it working well for olive toned girls with a bit of a tan, and it gives lipstick shades extra dimension when worn over the top.

This is the first glossimer that I paid full price full and I have no regrets. It looks great worn alone with liner and it has done wonders for my often forgotten lipstick collection. Would purchase again in a heartbeat. NC45/DDD

In a nutshell Suprise is exactly what the name implies. Its Suprisingly ugly in the tube,Suprisingly MLBB by itself and Suprisingly gorgeous over every lipstick I've worn it with!

As soon as I saw this golden little tube I knew it must be mine. Its a beautiful golden sheen with golden shimmer sparkles and a slight greenish tinge that disappears once you apply it to your lips.
I originally got it as a topper because I knew the gold would make my l/s luminous and super shiney. But I was also pleasntly surprized to find that just applying some to the center of my lips gave me a nudish glowing pout. It is definitely a unique and flattering color from Chanel. I love to pair it w/ the Hydrabase Sirene l/s, but I suspect any color that has some gold or brown in it would really pop with this l/g. UPDATE: I have used it to top all my l/s that have gold or brown in them and its just gorgeous. I love this glossimer more each day!

I had my makeup done by an national Chanel MA at a makeup event, and she's the one I have to give credit to for getting this gloss. I NEVER in a million years would have bought this on my own. What I wanted more than anything were lips like in the Aqualumiere ads, and the MA told me that I needed a contrasting gloss to really plump my lips outwards and give the illusion of incredibly shiny full lips. She was originally going to layer Bubble glossimer over the lipstick but said it would be too one dimensional so she opted for Surprise. I must admit to being very sceptical, but it really does work! I could never wear this on it's own as it's much to pale and frosty and slightly green, but over a lipstick it's magical. The magical lips just like the ones in the Chanel ads, I got from layering Surprise over Acapulco, but I've also tried it over Antigua and it looks really nice as well. So for those of you who hate this, give it another shot over a pink lipstick. I really think you'll be surprised (no pun intended of course ;)) at how nice it looks.

Eww.. Get it aWAY from my lips! This stuff is gritty beyond forgiveness.. It looks so gorgeous in the package, like it would be a nudey sheer shade on lips, even on my hand. But on lips, its the grittiest yellowish gloss I've ever tried on. So depressed that I spent $25 on this puke in a tube.. Its going back!

I picked up Surprise, because I am a sucker for Chanel Glossimers. When I put it on my hand, I thought that it was this great shimmery gloss with gold tint to it. When I put it on, I found that it was a little white for my skin. When I mix it with lipliner, it works well, but overall it's a little light for me. I have tan asian skin.

From the descriptions on the makeup board, I thought I'd hate this one, but it's pretty cool. It's a golden sparkle that is an old gold type of color, meaning it has some greenish tones, although it doesn't look green on or anything. Just that the gold isn't a yellow or orange gold. I had to have it after I saw the MA, who is Asian, apply it over a pink lipstick. Stunning!!
