These are my favourite cotton pads to remove makeup and wash my face. They are a little pricier than other brands at $9 a pack, but they are so much softer. It doesn't aggravate my sensitive, redness-prone skin. The pack lasts a long time too.

I didn't want to like these. After all, c'mon, 9 bucks for a bag of facial cotton? It started out with the Sephora SA giving me a bag of samples to go home with. (Thanks.) I cut them in half. I only use them with my Eudermine. They are by far the softest cotton I have ever felt on my face. They hold the Eudermine in and none is wasted. I can precisely use an amount and for what the toner/softener costs, perhaps that's a good thing. The softness is important on my face. If I were to use these in taking off nail polish, I wouldn't care. But I don't. They don't fall apart. They stay in one piece. They don't fuzz apart at all. No strings of cotton. It's almost as if they are a piece of cotton cloth. So I am actually using one cut into two and that's for my entire face and that's good enough for me. Right now I'm focusing on my Eudermine, but I have tried them in my OCM for taking off eye makeup. Again, exceedingly soft, no pull, no cotton frizz left behind. It's a good thing not to tug around the eyes anyway.I didn't want to like them...but I did. A guilty pleasure for me.

I'm hooked on these cotton pads for life. I'll never go back to the drugstore cotton balls, especially the 'generic' brands. My skin is very sensitive (rosacea and hormonal acne) so I need to be gentle with it.
These cotton pads are super soft and non-abrasive. For economic's sake, I'll cut them in half to get more use out of them. These cotton pads are definitely worth the money.

I bought these on the whim a year and a half ago. They are simply just cotton pads, but I have not went without them since my first purchase. They are soft, don't leave cotton lint on my face and just seem to point out every other cotton pad's flaw. Do not buy these if you're not prepared to buy them for the rest of your life.

Only pads I will use with my expensive Sisley toner because it allows all the product that you put on it to transfer to your face. Also, so soft I use it to remove eye makeup as well. Sometimes I cut them in half, 1/2 for toner and the other to remove eye makeup.

Such good value for what you get! These cotton pads are triple layered cotton which means they super soft, but transfer product extremely well. I only splash a bit of my toner on and i can use it on my whole face. It even has a circle in the middle so you know every time how much to put onto it! So much better than pharmacy cotton pads that break up as you use them.

Seems weird to be reviewing cotton pads isn't it? Not for this. I can't say that this has 'transformed' my skin care routine in any major way but the cotton is just so soft and gentle- I love it. These cotton pads are just as effective as any other but I don't mind paying the extra dollar or whatever it is for better soothing care.

It is no cheap, but it has worth to buy.

I tried Shiseido's legendary cotton after finding a piece of glass in my drugstore's usual product. I must say that I agree with most of the reviews! Once you try you will never go back. An extra perk is the fact that because these pads are the real thing, they retain moisture way better. Instead of using a pad for each eye, I can get away with using one from both sides.
I would recommend this to everyone using makeup and toners!
One thing to keep in mind is the price though. In Canada it is $9 right now; but the price will increase in the next few months.

Beware! Once you try these you will not go back! I really enjoy using these. One pack lasts me 2.5-3 months, so it is not really that bad. These cotton pads are sturdy yet soft and silky. They don't get 'linty', so they are good for removing eye makeup. I've tried a cheaper kind I got from a Japanese drugstore ($3 per pack). It was a no-go, it falls apart as I run it over my face with toner. I think a good alternative would be the Muji cotton pads. They are very similiar in texture and construction, but they were a bit thick. I'm very particular with my cotton pads. I hate the ones that are crimped at the edges as I find them too sharp. I also don't like quilted ones, I see those a lot at CVS, Target, Rite-Aid, etc... And finally, I don't buy cotton pads that are Made in China. I get mine in Hong Kong which is only 50HKD which is around $7. Quite the savings compare to the US which cost $9 + tax.

Sometimes I feel like one of the only people in the world who doesn't enjoy these cotton pads. They have received such raves and high ratings, but I don’t particularly enjoy using them.
I found the Shiseido cotton pads to be very soft, but way too delicate. They come apart very easily, especially when using them on an area that is not smooth (e.g. when removing eye makeup, the fibers will get caught in your eye lashes). To keep the pads from coming apart, you have to totally saturate the cotton pad, which is a waste of product.
The fibers shed a lot. They also cause the cotton pads to snag and get stuck to one another. As an example, when you go to remove one pad from the packaging, you'll often either get more than one, or tear apart the pad directly below the one you're removing…reminds me a bit of static cling that way.
They suck at removing nail polish, and will just come apart when using them on your nails.
They absorb a lot of liquid that doesn't transfer over afterwards. For example, when using it for face toner, the pad will absorb so much toner that doesn’t end up fully going onto to the skin when used, so you can end up using more product than you normally would. They are as absorbent as a cotton swab; however, cotton swabs will release a lot of product back when used. The Shiseido cotton pads won’t.
They are expensive, and really not worth it. You’ll get better results using standard cotton pads. I will not be repurchasing.

If you are really into toners, you need these. They leave no fuzzies and are ultra soft. Thicker than your traditional cotton pads. Feels like they might maximize the benefits of a toner. Especially if you spend a lot of money on a toner you might as well buy these. If I found a toner I loved I would buy these regularly.

Saves your products because it never sucks anything in, you use all the product you put on it. This is definitely worth the money even if it was $50, saves you so much product.

I usually hate frivolous spending, especially with 1 use items. Too bad my spoiled, luxury-loving side won and I bought $10 cotton pads. I've used other brands, some of which are great and never fall apart, but those pale in comparison when it comes to Shiseido's softness. Sometimes, other cotton pads can be abrasive. Do I have to have this? No. But it's nice to treat yourself once in a while.

Oh. My. Word. These are hands down the best I've ever used. Gone are the days of scratchy facial cotton pads that irritate my sensitive skin. These are no joke. I've tried different brands: cvs, walmart, walgreens, that big box of them from costco, you name it and those do not compare to this. I know it sounds ridiculous because they're just facial cotton to remove make up, but they are super soft. I even got my mom and others hooked on them. They're a thick good sized square that you can use front and back. They don't leave any fuzzy cotton residue or start breaking apart like others I've used. I only use these for my face and to remove eye make up. I wouldn't use these for nails just because the price. They're not crazy expensive but I'm used to spending a couple bucks on a generic brand of cotton pads. Definitely give these a try. I purchase two bags of these at a time.

Never in a million years would I have consider forking over $10 for cotton pads, but the MUA bug has laid it's eggs in my brain and causes me to do crazy things...
So, anyway, I really do enjoy these. I was previously using the generic $3 cotton rounds or squares at Walmart/Target and hated how they fell apart after using them to take my polish off, apply toner or remove my eye makeup.
The Shiseido cotton pads do not fall apart - ever. They are so thick and luxurious that they feel like little mini pillows caressing your face. They're larger than any other cotton pad I've used, so I feel like I only need to use one instead of multiples like with the other cheapy ones.
I'm forever a believer and will continue to repurchase!

I used this some 40 years ago and now back using it. A bit pricey, but I find it far superior than the drug store's cotton balls or pads. My favourite is to use this with eye make up remover to clean the entire face. Definitely no shredding, no frailing.

Really do not understand why this product has such a high ratinggg....I've used it many times during different course of my life hoping i can see the miracle, but it just simply not for me. It only works well if i put alot and alot of liquid stuffs on it so that it will stay the way it is which means i need to use a lot of extra in order to use this....I tried it as eye makeup remover pad, toner pad, nails polish removal pads....all leaves traces of cottons over everywhere....The spider web liked shreds get in between my lashes, my cuticles and my faceeee....!! it's just makes me so maddddd for the price it issssss......!! I' m done with this and will never try againn... UPdate: i didn't used it probably now i can't live without it!!!!

I admittedly thought it was silly to buy fancy facial cottons but I bought these on a whim and have since replaced them for the past year.
They are AMAZING. They are so soft--sometimes the ones with closed ends are sharp. Not these ones. They are resilient. I use one to remove all of my make up--face, lips AND waterproof mascara. One! For everything! I think the fact that I only have to use one at a time makes up for some of the price. They may be 2 or 3 times as expensive, but I use 1/2 or a 1/3 as many each time. Plus, I enjoy using them. It feels wonderful and I never have irritated skin afterwards. They are a HG, albeit a little ridiculous. I love them.
