I agree with other reviewers who say that the consistency is lovely, comporable to Lorac quality eyeshadow. The shimmery-glitteryness is pretty and not over-the-top. I was given this as a gift, so for free I'm okay with it, but I would never buy this, especially not for like $38 bucks or whatever it retails for. It's just not that special.

I bought this eyeshadow when they had not invented primer at the time. I must say that 1 lippy goes to the smoothness of the eyeshadows and 2nd lippy goes to the nice color combination. But that's about it!

I absolutely LOVE the colors. The sheer blue looks like an 80s throwback in the container, but it applies quite sheer and I use just the tiniest amount in the corners of my eyes and sometimes near the white of my eyes.
I skip eyeliner and use the dark copper and brown to add dimensions.
Cannot say enough great stuff about how well the colors work together to create either a subdued day look or an interesting but not too flashy night look. So versatile.
I gave the packaging a 4 because I expected it to last longer.

Can't make this quad work for me. First of all, it applies too sheer. I find that rather weird, as I have seen testers at several counters where the quads seems fully pigmented and creamy soft.
Mine is not like that. It doesn't seem to be saturated with pigment.
The colors doesn't really work for me either... The sky blue makes me look washed out, the taupe is too neutral, the peach is way too sheer, and the copper too warm for my cooltoned skintone.
I still haven't figured a way to use the quad with succsess, but i do like the colors in the pan though....I was hoping this would be a really nice travelcompanion for when on trips, but alas...
I think this is a quad that will work best with brown eyes, unfortunately mine are bluegreen.
I won't give it up just yet, but as for now it doesn't seem to be any chemistry between me and this quad.
Dark brown hair, medium cooltoned skin, bluegreen eyes for reference.

Shisheido e/s have a beautiful, rich texture. The texture of these shadows are noteworthy. When your brush leaves a dent on the surface, it looks like a cream shadow. The colors are not so intense, but buildable. Works best if you use your finger or the sponge-tipped applicator, although difficult. I've found that the color doesn't show up on your eyelids if you use a regular brush. Otherwise, tap the color instead of sweeping them on. It also has very fine glitter , not shimmer (similar to shu uemura's pearl finish) something that I've never really liked but in this case, looks absolutely lovely. Alas, the fine glitter irritates my eyes easily to I don't think I will repurchase nor use this quad again. So sad. But I may try their matte formulation as I really love the texture.

Great quality, silky texture, subtable shine and good pigment. Love the fact that they put 2 sponges with the brush. The only thing I dont't like is that they don't have highlighting color. I wish insted of blue in this quad they made white. Really that's quit frustrating. They don't also have a very light colors in mono and duo shadows. But I still love the other 3 colors: goldish beige, copperry orange and medium brown, they are so perfect for these with blue eyes.

This quad is very skily and smooth! I am in love with the copper shade. Very well pigmented but a little pricey. This quad also comes with an applicator with a brush end and the other is a sponge end.

I love the Shiseido e/s. They are so silky & blendable & the single shadows that I have are really long lasting. The 4 shadows in this pan are pretty & blend like a dream, but they don't last very long on my lids, even with my shadow base on. I love the colors, gold, cocoa, copper & aqua & they come with two nice, double ended applicators (3 sponge tips & a brush), but I do with they were longer wearing.

Omg, this is a beautiful quad! The colors are lovely and work very well together, although I don't really use the coppery shade very often. Overall, this quad makes my hazel green eyes look open, bright and shall I say almost ethereal, with a kind of je ne sais quoi quality to them. Everytime I've worn these eyeshadows, I've gotten tons of compliments on how beautiful I look (perfect when at a party where I knew an ex-boyfriend would be :) ). The shadow itself is interesting to work with. Very soft and easy to apply, but almost the consistency of a loose powder, and I'd say it's a better powder for a wash than any kind of definition. Very different from a MAC or Chanel eyeshadow, but I like it for what it does. And that's also not to say that a ton of different looks can't be created. I see lots of combinations with the colors and I'd be very interested to see what this would be like wet. Try it out, I know I'm going to look into some of the other quads as well.

This is a really nice compact! The colours are beautiful and work very well together, the texture is so soft and silky, and the applicators that it comes with are decent. All of the colours look great with my dark brown eyes and you can use the colours in endless combinations. It is very blendable and you can achieve either a dramatic, bold look or a softer, more subtle look. The only thing I am unhappy with is the fact that this shadow wasn't as long lasting as I would like.. the colour seems to fade away gradually, so I need to do a few touchups throughout the day. But I didn't take off a point because although it isn't so long lasting, it didn't crease at all. And the colours are so beautiful and the texture so lovely!

The Shiseido e/s are amazing! Silky texture, nicely pigmented & long wearing. The Earth & Sky Quad has a gold shimmer, copper shimmer, aqua shimmer & taupe shimmer with a slight plum tone. Just a beautiful set of eyeshadows.

Wow - I actually went out in search of some MAC eyeshadows and came to this instead. I'm an NC40, and all these colours are lovely on me. Really, I can't compliment this combination enough.

I don't know what my problem is with shishedo eye shadows. I love love love the packaging. The silky/softness of their shadows are almost unmatched. The colors look fantastic on my skin but when I put them on my lids, they suck! I've tried some of their duos and now this quad and the same problems happen. The color is either way to sheer to the point that I can't tell I put anything on, or the colors look just awful with my pale skin and blue/green eyes. The tan color is too sheer, the purple makes me look like I have a black eye, the light blue might be ok as a liner and the bronze is too red. So sad, because they had so much potential :( So jealous of everyone who looks good in these colors!

The previous reviewer did a great job giving a very detailed and thorough description of this fantastic eyeshadow - I completely agree with everything she said. This is a great quad - it goes on smoothly and wears beautifully all day without creasing or fading. I've never had a Shiseido eyeshadow before, but I was attracted to the beautiful colours. I am so pleased with this eyeshadow quad that I'm going to have to look at other Shiseido shadows.

Everybody needs this. Really. Everyone. It's a pretty good value. For 30 bucks, USD, you get four shadows, a mirrored compact and two applicators. One applicator has sponges on both ends and the other has one sponge and one brush. The shadows are very soft and silky. A bit softer than I'm used to so the colors really smudge up in the container as you use them, making me a bit concerned about how long they will last in comparison to other shadows, but I won't know that until I use it several more times. With Earth and Sky, you get the best frosty champagne color I've ever seen. It is the color on the current Shiseido advertisement. I bought it for that color alone. There is also a frosty dark taupe color, which is a really nice darker grey/taupe. It reminds me a whole lot of a combination that LuckiestLiz does with Stila Ebony and Kitten, I think it is, combined. There is a light frosty aqua blue, and a frosted coppery color. The copper is maybe a bit red on me, or maybe I just am way over my coppery/rusty shadow fascination, but so far, it's the color I've used the least. ANY of the four can be used in any combination of highlight, crease or lid colors and you are only limited by your own imagination. For me, the colors wear a long time with no creasing. I was very concerned about creasing because my brush makes a big mark into the shadow and I figured if it's that soft, that it couldn't possibly stay on my lids without creasing but it does. The colors are so blendable, you can achieve a seamless application.
