I love the loreal color rays. It is the only hair color that actually shows up on my very dark brown (looks black hair). All the other hair coloring boxes I've tried only tint my hair. I got the fuchsia flash one and it turned out red (which I wanted and new it would do because I saw someone on youtube review it). It fades nicely and you can get more than one use out of a box. If you have any questions feel free to ask:)

Love it! I use Wen to wash my hair and this stuff stays bright pink for along time. I put it on my gray roots and on my bangs and a little on the ends of my long hair. It is bright pink and I love it. I have used it twice so far and wish L'oreal would make a medium Purple permanent shde as well! I plan to keep putting this on my gray/white roots and eventually I'll have totally Pink hair. Why have gray roots when I can have Pink? Love!

So, ive read many comments and i just bought this product yesterday and im probably gonna use it today. but ive heard after it fades it gives a weird orange color..will my hair ever go back to its normal color which is brown. ive dyed my hair blonde before so i could dye it pink with manic panic which worked well, but i dont want to dye it blonde again so i am trying this. i am 15 and im only doing a strand of my hair pink, it is a traditon since my friend died. how long will this product last? and is it a strong pink if my hair was colored blondish brown right now? and what color does it turn out to be once it fades? and how would i get my hair back to normal? thanksss it was l'oreal colour rays fushia flash btw

I've used this dye SO many times. I've used it on bleached hair and slightly faded red hair: it came out the same both times, BRIGHT ASS PINK! It also smells really good, not like the typical chemical smell that a lot of hair dyes have. It lasts me about three weeks. Even the faded color is really pretty, a really light pink. I wish it wasn't $10, but considering how much I'd have to spend on crappy Manic Panic, it's not too bad. Also, I've never tried this on dark hair; I have naturally light blonde hair. Like I said though, I've used this on previously dyed hair and it didn't change the outcome at all.

I used this product (the fuchsia color) when I was a freshman in college. I first dyed my hair dark brown and then used this. It worked great! I see all the reviews that say it doesn't work but it did for me. My hair absorbs color really well, so everyone's results are different! I just bought it again and I can't wait to use it again! (:

okay, so before i tried this product i looked on here to see everyone's opinion, and the thing was, that i had just bleached highlights into my hair the night that i was looking it up and i see everyone who said it doesn't work on bleached hair or not natural hair and blah blah so i decided to just wing it. i just washed it out and it's as vibrant as ever just how i wanted it. it is hot pink basically, not orange or not that it didn't work. it worked great. i used this product before and it lasted for a few months without fading, so i guess I'll have to see how it lasts now, on bleached hair, but after the whole dying process, for me at least, it worked on bleached hair, and i just bleached it about less than 24 hours before i did the pink.

This product works great on virgin hair. Very vibrant colors all in one step. Come with a little mixing bowl and wand for application. I just picked up a dye up brush for easier use. If on virgin hair this color works is comparable to L'oreal Hilights for dark hair. I was also able to get it to work on lightly dyed hair, but any dark dyes would have to be removed before application to get the true color.

I bought this product in Fuchsia Flash back in late 2007, and I still look back fondly on the color it gave me. I don't want to bleach my hair unless I absolutely have no other option, so when I read on the box that this is formulated especially for dark hair, I HAD to try it. I wasn't disappointed! The color itself is absolutely beautiful... a little redder than the box implies, but definitely cool-toned and bold. In all my searching for a nice magenta dye, this is definitely the one that suits me best. I didn't use it as a highlight - I used it as an all-over dye. It didn't damage my hair and I just picked up another box so I can do it again.

NOTE: Do NOT use this on hair with dye still in it. IE don't dye your hair black and then put Colour Rays over it - you have to do this on virgin hair. It says it right on the box, and again in the insert inside, that results may be wonky on hair that's already colored and it's best to dye on virgin hair only. For the love of pete, don't ignore the directions and then complain that it didn't work as advertised! LOL

That said, the fading process was kind of surprising. I wasn't expecting the dye to have permanently lightened my hair! My hair is a very dark, ashy brown that most people construe as black, and after the fuchsia faded a couple months later my hair was a mid-tone brown. Even stranger, when I went outside in the sun, it GLOWED a sort of strawberry blonde! It was completely different looking depending whether I was in natural or artificial light. However, I view the lightening as a pro, not a con... makes it easier to get a more vibrant color with other dyes that are NOT formulated for dark hair. Of course it's not the same as bleaching, but it very gentle on your hair and helps things along.

Five lippies, five stars, two thumbs up... I am in love with this dye!

hey so I haven’t used this product yet….but my friend will help me next weekend..however, I was looking at all these reviews, and basically all the ones that gave this product 2 “stars” or lower…was because you guys have previously colored your hair. in the directions in the box, it even says that if your hair is permed or colored, wait at least 14 days!

I am kind of confused. I have bought this product in Fuschia Flash for forever, and it always turned out a perfect vibrant pink. I just purchased some yesterday and the inner bottles and packaging are red. As I recall, they were always the same purplish color of the outer box. I really do not want magenta hair, I want it to turn out fuschia. So I am confused if they have changed the inner packaging and bottles to red, or if they mixed up my box??

It should say do not use on previous dyed hair instead of less vibrant. I have pink dots at the root and nothing else. Time to dye my hair again. Grrr.

Most recently, I bleached streaks in my hair, and dyed them with manic panics "new rose" mixed with "ultraviolet". They were fading quite a bit because my hair wasn't very blonde in the first place, so I decided I'd try the fuschia over them. Surprise, surprise, my hair came out NEON pinky orange. It was quite cool, except my ends were ORANGE orange, and I didn't like that. Needless to say, don't expect the fuschia colour on bleached hair.

I did, however, use the same product years ago on faded out dyed dark brown (natural colour is dark brown too, slightly different shade) and it turned out a beautiful pink. So it definitely works well on natural, or better yet, virgin hair.

ok so yesterday i bought this product in Fuchsia Flash. the end results were pretty awesome. first i must say that they give you a lot of dye, and it smells pretty good. i used the brush to stroke in some color, it worked pretty well for me. left it on for the 30min and washed like it said. the end results were a pinkish red color almost magenta. [i must add that i had old dye in my hair already]. the only down side to this was that it took to the root and about and inch after that then you cant really see the color. but i suppose its because i didnt glop it on.
my advice to anyone wanting to buy this, you should try it just make sure you use alot torwards the ends of your hair. =]

I bought this in Fuscia, because I just loved the color on the box. BUT the color turned out like RED. Bright red, only at the roots of my hair. So my roots are red, but the rest of my hair didn't really change much D: I usually can't stand the smell of hair dye, but this isn't that bad. I thought it kind of smelled like cherries (yeah i'm weird ^^;). The color turn out with pretty suckky. Cuz only the roots got colored. It was like $10, so I probably wouldn't repurchase, since it's kinda expensive. It says it shows up on dark hair, but I don't rlly think so. I left it in for 45 minutes btw. oh one more thing....THIS STAINS LIKE CRAZY! =o=

i have short dark brown (dyed) hair that is chin length in front and spiky in back. i used this in fushia flash to put streaks in front and on the crown. amazing, bright results. here i am, 2 weeks later with no fading at all!! the amount of color they give you is insane. i will be using 1/4 of the amount each time from now on. i am very impressed with the last power and the quality of the color. no damage to my hair. many compliments. i do prefer to use a cap rather than the wand. better control of the sizes you want for streaks imo.
UPDATE: i used this over bleached hair and it came out in a few days. i'm now using raw hair color or special fx.

I have long brown hair thats seen alot of dyes (but none recently), so I was ready for a change. Basically I looked through the reviews on Makeupalley before actually using this product. The reviews said that it was messy, and most of the people who left it on for an hour, instead of a half hour had way better results. I would have to agree with them. I left mine on for an hour, it's vibrant and doesn't seem as fried as I expected it to be at this point. The color itself is just like it shows on the box. I rate it as a 4 because of how extremely EXTREMELY messy it is, it stains everything it touches (from skin to surfaces), even if its just barely touches for a second. I wish it would have come with a highlighting cap instead of the wand, the wand kept getting tangled and dripping gloop everywhere. Also I put ALOT of product on my hair to ensure color. I'm overall happy with the results, I'll have to wait and see how quickly it fades though. I have pictures of the mixers and mixing trays (it was a little difficult to mix) and i have pictures of my hair after the end results.

I bought this in BLONDE BLOWOUT for my asian, naturally black hair, with the intention of giving myself some blonde highlights...but because no one would help me and because I found the highlighting tools difficult to use on myself, I ended up using this product all-over. At first, I thought this was going to be a diseaster, but I ended up with a cool, medium-brown all-over hair colour in one step (as opposed to the usual two step process: bleach, then hair colour)!!!! A pleasant surprise, not at all brassy - it looked like I purposely dyed my hair brown! IMPORTANT: USE FOIL!!! Because of the bleach content, this stuff is highly temperature sensitive so if you dont use foil, it will be extremely uneven: lighter at your roots. I did not find this product to be too damaging - but my hair is fairly resilient to hair colour products.

I guess I got a steal since I found mine at CVS on clearance for $3.99. I saw the color (fuschia) and couldn't refuse, especially at that price. I will say that I didn't really like how clumpy the color was coming out of the tube. Other than that, the color was beautiful on my hair. My ends were already a very light brown from an earlier dye job and the color is the most intense there but it also showed up vibrantly on my black untouched hair. The only weird thing is that when I mixed it showed up red but I didn't think anything of it because when I applied it, it showed up as fuschia on my hair. After I rinsed it out, it was bright red though but since that was the color I really wanted anyway, I couldn't be any happier. By the way, I am a black female with natural hair (no relaxer) that is type 4b.

this product is awesome. most of the people who gave it bad reviews dyed their hair with another product and then used this right on top.. you cant do that!!!! it says so right on the box. you need to use it on either natural hair, or hair that hasent been coloured in months. if you do that, you get awesome results. i used the fushia on myself, and there is a couple pictures of it in my profile. the one where my hair is straight is after like 10 washes.. and the one with me upside down, is right after dying. i also used the red on my boyfriend and it also turned it soo bright and intense. great results. but dont try to dye on top of dye with this product. it wont work.

I purchased this product in the "Fuschia Flash" after seeing successful results with it on my friend, who has dark hair (I'm Asian and have naturally dark brown-black hair...it was dyed dark red before that had faded to dark brown. Before using this dye, I dyed it a back to a natural black so as to have more "dramatic" results).

The dying process itself was easy, and the developer didn't smell as bad as others I've used in the past. The dye stains EVERYTHING it touches though, even if you wipe it right afterwards. I recommend putting newspapers down on your counters and on your sink. I was hoping for bright red-pink streaks, as stated would happen on the side of the box, and by my friend. But alas, I followed the recommended 30 minutes and had a muted dark reddish color on the strands I had dyed first, and almost nothing visible on the top layers that I had applied last. There is a distinct red sheen in some places in the light, which is nice, but I could've gotten that sheen with cheaper dyes. Maybe the developer wasn't strong enough since my hair is far from virgin hair...

All in all, it's convenient that they give you everything in the one box from the drugstore, but I've gotten better red results with L'Oreal's "Excellence HiColor" for dark hair from Sally Beauty Supply stores, and it's cheaper since I already have my own supplies and a stronger developer at home, so I wouldn't buy this again.

I know I'd get better results by bleaching first, but I vowed to never bleach again after finding billions of split ends after the first time I did so :(. Maybe if I DO try it again, I'll leave the stuff on for an hour, instead.
