I have been using the Reviva Labs Light Skin Peel for the past 4 weeks, once a week. Like mentioned in the product description, this doesn't actually "peel" your skin, it's more of a mask. The consistency is a little strange - it's a little liquidy, but dense like bread dough before it has set. It has a very "spicy" scent, very reminiscent of pizza spices or oregano. Maybe it's the oil of thyme in the ingredients list? To get some product out, I prefer using a spatula for sanitary reasons and then smoothing the product all over my face. The instructions state that it should be left on for 3-5 minutes, so I usually always leave it on for 5. Once it's on my face, I can really smell the alcohol in the product. It seems a bit strong at first, but it goes away. Its pleasant to have on the face, as it doesn't seem to stiffen my face much or cause tingling, burning, etc. After 5 minutes, I will try to peel it off, but each time I've used this, I wasn't able to peel it off. It didn't matter if I put a very thin layer or thick layer, the mask doesn't completely dry in 5 minutes in order for you to peel it off. It does peel off on tiny areas such as the chin, but on my cheeks, I had to use a wash cloth or exfoliation brush. In a way, I like it because you get a little extra exfoliation from the gritty crushed almonds, but it's also somewhat a pain. The instructions do state though to remove it with your fingers, dry towel or cosmetic sponge. That doesn't work that well because residue will be left behind on the skin unless water is used, and it doesn't state to use water. Afterward, my skin feels very fresh, cool, clean and slightly tight. I then as always, continue with a moisturizer and go to sleep. In the morning, my skin looks fresher than the day before and my pores look reduced. The lasting effect is a few days. It is a nice peel/mask, but I do think it's a little expensive at $20 per 1.5 oz. **PROS:**Takes little time (3-5 minutes), didn't bother my sensitive skin despite the high content of alcohol, wasn't drying, soothing, made my pores appear smaller and brightened my overall complexion after each use.
**CONS:**I think a misconception about this product is that it's called "Light" Skin Peel, and some people take that as it will "Lighten" your skin, but there are no claims that it will lighten. It is also called a "Peel", but as I mentioned, this doesn't peel your skin, nor does it peel off after 5 minutes. I think the name doesn't suit the product at all and it would better off called "Brightening Mask" or "Revitalizing Mask" so the consumer won't expect lightening or peeling - they will expect to use a mask that will freshen up their complexion, which is what this will do.

I was attracted to this because it says non-chemical & I have sensitive, acne-prone skin. It's not available for purchase in Manitoba but I ordered it on eBay no problem. The smell is a little off-putting (kind of like pizza spices, as I believe oregano is one of the ingredients). But it definitely gives me soft skin & a nice glow after use. I was using 1 x week. Let it dry & then use your hands or a dry facecloth to buff it off. It would leave flakes of mask on my sink & counter so I started taking it off in the bath tub or shower (not using water, just standing over the bath tub & then rinsing the tub out later). Don't use water to remove the mask from your face, it won't have the same effect.

i think this product is fantastic and nothing gets rid of my dry skin like this. you have to get the hang of using it, but if you do, i can't see how you wouldn't love it.

First, this is some weird stuff. It stinks to high heaven and when it dries and you buff it off, it comes off in huge sheets.

However, it does do the job...I've only used it three times and wasn't expecting anything miraculous, but I do like the way my face feels afterwards, especially when I'm using a serum or other treatment on top of it.

As earlier stated, this is like a mask. It does make the skin very smooth once wiping off. It is a bit messy because it's kind of crumbly once it dries and you rub it off, but other than that, I think it's a good product. I haven't noticed dramatic lightening of my hyperpigmentation but I do like how my skin looks refreshed after use. I also apply aloe vera moisturizer after I use this, and have had no problems with dryness.

I found this in sample size for $2.99 at Ulta. I've tried other mini-peels including MyChelle's pumpkin peels, Olay's Regenerist peel, and Zia's Papaya Enzyme peel and this is one of the best. I had some flaking skin (due to post acne marks) so I wanted a harsher scrub (though I admit, typically this may be too harsh, I mean, it's crushed almonds after all!) to remove those stubborn flakies.

I left it on for a bit more than 5 minutes and when I took it off, my face was much softer and it got rid of the flakies. Also made my overall skin tone great. As an exfoliator, it's great but since the manual exfoliation scrub part is harsh, it's probably good to use it sparingly. I don't know how it measures up as an acne treatment or anti-aging treatment, but I'm sure there's other stuff for those things and I would not use this product for those problems, but as an exfoliator, it does its job.

I don't like using this scrubs. I used it on my face, let it dry and lightly scrub it off. After I scrub it off and rinse the residue off, it left my face dry and tight. I will not buy this again.

I bought this without reading the complete list of ingredients, only to discover upon first application that it contains SD alcohol, which is considered drying and irritating to the skin and also linked to free-radical damage, as its second or third ingredient. Seems to be an almost negligent ingredient to be contained in an anti-aging product, IMO. I washed this off within 5 minutes of having it on my face because it was making my eyes burn. I'll probably use this on my body at some point just to use it up, but will not be repurchasing.

I love this product! I bought it by accident (don't ask), but used it first on my lips because they felt so chapped and this stuff was magic. I have since used it on my face several times, especially on my nose, where my pores tend to get very clogged, and this worked wonders. I was originally using the aspirin mask in that area, but it was much too drying for me (my skin is normal/dry). This is perfect. I actually like the smell. You do have to rub pretty hard to get it to come off if you don't apply it thickly enough, but it also will come off with water.

I love it! This is not a peel or scrub, don't expect any peeling or much exfoliation, it's like a "peel of mask" (and I do not like those) but the results are amazing. It does smell but only upon an application, and who cares about the smell if it works? I refines pores very well, they get very very tiny, it also makes fine lines disappear, lightens spots, brightens skin. All glowing does not last long, one-two days, I usually use it when I am going out or before traveling. Great stuff.

I loved Reviva light skin peel. The only thing I didnt like was the smell, but I'll live. This peel made my pores so so so tiny, practically invisible. My skin felt and looked incredibly clean and soft, and it soaked up all the oil. I love this skin peel.

I have used this product along with 4 of my friends and an ex-boyfriend and everyone loved it. I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about. My ex even wanted to use it everyday, which you totally shouldn't do, since its a weekly treatment. I have sensitive oily skin and it worked fine for me. To tell you the truth I really didn't see as much results as I anticipated, but everyone else who tried it said they saw a difference in there skin. I exfoliate my skin a lot so thats probably why I didn't see a big difference. It smells a little acidy. Over all I think it is an interesting product to try. It's supposedly Reviva's best seller.

Reviva claims that this is a product that can help all your skin's problems (acne, wrinkles, uneven skintone, etc.) I actually think this product causes many more problems than it could ever help. It is extremely irritating as the 2nd ingredient is SD Alcohol 40 and the product requires that you rub the hardened mixture(along with dead cells) off your skin. Every time I've used this, even when I've tried to be gentle, my face becomes extremely irritated and red. The action of the product is much too harsh; it pulls at the skin and often removed facial hair along with skin. It did not help prevent pimples either, and I think the action of pulling at the skin would cause wrinkles, not help them. The only reason I didn't give this product a 1 is because it does leave the face incredibly smooth; however, there are other products that can do this with much less irritation.
