A rose-y, powdery musk. My jaw dropped to hear that Brad Pitt wears this. On me, it’s incredibly feminine. Cashmere softness. Flower garden. Grounded enough in musk and woods, but tends to be billowy and a bit sweet. In extreme heat, could be too sweet. A warm hug of a fragrance.

This feels elegant without being too structured, feminine without triggering any clichés/stereotypes. Sometimes feels very very close to Teint de Neige. Medium to big sillage, pretty tenacious.

Wonderful.
It smells ancient and modern at the same time.
I agree it has a powdery note, but this is NOT baby powder, it's something much more sophisticated, that belongs to the past, like expensive face powder of the twenties... could it be the violet note that reminds me that?
It is a powdery floral, with a depth that I never experienced in other powdery florals.
Geranium, rose, and a soft base o amber and polite, clean musk. Good lasting power.
Sophisticated, classy, refined. Spreads that styled tranquility of a upperclass-cashmere-dressed lady.
Very, very unique. I love it!

my favorite musk because it is not tipical musk. it stays on your skin, making it like a cloud, more like a veil around your body. it's so much better in the winter time, and i noticed that it smells even better when i don't shower for a day. for me it's hard, because im a cleanin junkie :)
but i love lorenzo, very fine niche perfumes, i love most of them, it stays on you all day, it last long and it is so noticable.
i feel great wearing it.

I like this one because it's NOT your typical musk,
Normally i have a hard time with musks, especially if they turn animalic or "rural" (no MKK here, please...).
Here i get a very powdery approach with dried wild roses, lavender, eventually herbs (the galbanum?), vanilla and sandalwood, some spices and woods. The musk is the one ingredient that makes it so close and skin-like and i really can wear this one in the heat of summer and on cold winter days. Agree upon Middle-Eastern connotations because the musk and spices combo is famous in these regions, of course.
Sexy ("come hither") and longlasting, absolutely worth its price.
LV seems to me to be a company which uses high quality ingredients and has a traditional and serious Florentine artistic approach. Highly recommended. In fact i love "darkharbour"'s new name for it: "Blue Musk". ;-)

I am very happy that I got a sample of this and gave my self time to really get to know the scent. I have been in a Musk Musk mood lately and cannot get enough. Upon application I loved this scent very much. It started as a very fresh almost medicinal musk scent which warms as time goes by. What I did not like is that after an hour or so the freshness all went away (which was one of the qualities I liked) and the fragrance became very stuffy and cloying. I actually started to feel nautious. Also lasting power very poor. For me this is not full bottle worthy.

This is not a typical musk type scent until it blends in with your skin. It warms up to be like a sweet spicy warm rose scent. I think it is the sandalwood that helps to prolong the fragrance (on me vanilla, sandal and spices allow a scent to last longer). Otherwise rose based scents seldom last on me (except for SL's Sa Majeste La Rose).

LV Musk is the most beautiful scent to me. It reminds me of attars. I would describe LV Musk has an Eastern Oriental / Middle East type scent.

As gorgeous as this sounds do sample on your skin first. I'm lucky with Lorenzo Villoresi scents. In fact I have just realized as I type that Italian perfumes seem to do well with on skin!

Starts out as a luscious loaf of rye bread, straight from the oven, and then quickly segues into powdery softness -- think Habanita without the smoke. Some discreet wood, floral, and citrus notes dance in the chorus line, but the star of the show is talcum. Nice, but not musk. Perhaps it would have worked better as a "blue musk." Sillage is mediocre, as is lasting power.

Excellent sillage, very sexy. Similar to cheap Coty Wild Musk but of much better quality.

Thank goodness for Maller's review, or I would have remained mystified at my experience of LV Musk: I apparently can't smell the musk. All I get is tea-rosey powder, with emphasis on the rose. As I only like tea roses in a garden--I prefer my fragrance roses dirty and earthy and very much in the background--this is not a winner for me. I give it three lippies because it's not the fragrance's fault that I can't smell this version of musk....

This is my favorite musk so far, after the great musk hunt of 2006-7. I have tried the nemats, the attar bazaars, the ave-luxes, and even dabbled in L'Artisan Mure et Musc, but did I break down and buy any of them? No, I did not. Not till this one. (okay, okay, I admit to the Eygptian Goddess. They had me at $6. And I almost broke for AL's Skin2, but I digress...) This musk may not be a 'real' musk, as it smells as described: soft, powdery, rosey, warm- as though you had bathed in a lovely rose oil scented tub, dried and powdered your self with a fluffy pink feather puff, and then spent the day strolling in the streets of an autumnal Florence wearing cashmere. It smells elegant, cultured, and expensive. (which it is.) It does not smell like animals, or any kind of possibly raunchy behavior. LV Musk is a musk that wears pearls and Prada, not lace up leather pants and motorcycle boots. She's feminine and womanly, but doesn't flaunt it- she doesn't have to- it's the ultimate juxtaposition, an elegant musk.

Gorgeous stuff, this. I'm surprised by all of the negative reviews, actually, and am just sitting here marveling at the wonders of body chemistry. On me, this is a very warm, soft, rosey, only mildly powdery, gentle wood, close to the skin scent. A "Come on you know you wanna' bathe in the stuff.... Well be my guest.... Rock on!" scent. Really can't imagine any occasion or weather conditions where this *wouldn't* work. Seems perfect for just about anything--and it's very inviting. A huggy, golden cashmere pashmina of a scent. And it's classy. Very, very classy. The BEST musk I've ever smelled EVER, and believe me, I've sniffed my fair share. Love it! Could wear it all the time. ♥ Went in for Yerbamate (also lovely), but walked out with this. :D

This 'musk' is not musky on my skin, but rather has a fresh note that is purely linear... until it quickly vanishes. I am deeply disappointed with LV Musk. I never thought I would find a LV that wasn't swoon-worthy.

I must start by saying this is a lovely fragrance. The only thing is, it's very similar to the humongously cheaper Doll Face by Ava Luxe. It has that soft powder, light musk, the fragile dust in an old fashioned compact.

I prefer Clair de Musc and Il Profvmo Musc Bleu, but I’d certainly purchase this as a change. It’s gloriously wearable – you got to love vintage-style musks for that. There’s an interesting bitterness just below the surface – a musty bite – but I don’t mind it. The rose and sandalwood are but a whisper but the very fact they’re there at all is satisfying. Actually, there is definitely a little 10 Corso Como in this, now I’m thinking about it. And something medicinal. So, perhaps this fragrance is more complex than it first seems. If there is cardamom in this – the magic ‘c’ word – I’m struggling to find it. I do get a little coriander mind you.

This would make a great any time, any occasion fragrance. I bet it would make one feel very at home in their own skin.

EDIT: Ohmygoodness - this really DOES get better with every wear! Sweet Lord. This stuff is awesome.

This is a lovely light musk from Lorenzo Villoresi. It is vaguely similar to Teint de Neige, but lacks its subtleties, in my opinion. The opening is slighly sharp on me and quite clear and woody, and then I can smell powdery musk and rose with a slight hint of caramel from time to time. There is also a hint of something peppery/spicy which prevents me from enjoying this scent as much as I thought I would! It lasts very well, staying close to the skin, but overall I prefer Teint de Neige.

A complex light musk from Lorenzo Villoresi. I don't smell much musk here, but baby powder, rose, caramel, and even a whisper of coconut. Overall, delightful and good enough to eat! Full bottle worthy.
I'm turning into a Villoresi fan.

I hate musk, but I really don`t smell it here. I get woods, several, cedar sandalwood and rose(just a touch) and a very soft powder. This one just gets better with each wearing. I`ll buy it over and over. A soft fragrance that lasts forever, spray it on before bed and a light touch is there in the morning. I can`t wait to try it in the fall or winter. I love the way Lorenzo Villoresi fragrances go through at least three distinct phases.

This scent is totally Jekyll and Hyde, the hermaphrodite of fragrances, and it all seems to hinge on chemistry. The opening notes of this are foul on me, man: the cardamom and galbanum combine to create a "medical gauze soaked in iodine" smell, which almost had me running for the hills. Fortunately I was too busy to wash it off and continued on about my business. Thirty minutes later, I started smelling something vaguely pleasant around me. Forty-five minutes later I realized the wonderful scent was coming from the wrist I'd sprayed LV Musk on! I couldn't believe the total about-face this scent made. The base of this is to die for: the pus-soaked gauze had given way to a soft, sweet, woody musk with powdery overtones. If LV Musk started and ended on its base notes no doubt I would score a full bottle of this, but if I have to endure 45 minutes of hell each time I want to get to the heavenly part, I think that's a little too much delayed gratification for me.

The top notes feature tea rose--my least favorite sort--and some ashtray-amelling thing. The drydown is a nice powdery musk--more powder than musk--with surprisingly little staying power.

I am a musk lover, all kinds. But LV Musk has become my all time fav. I find a mild similarity to LV Teinte de Neige in this scent, but after it settles down, it is in a field of its own. Lovely musky warm base with touches of pink or tea rose. Powdery and comforting and very long lasting on my skin. I find the need to own both TdN and this one.

I'm writing this review for other people who may not be able to pick up on the particular form of musk in LV's Musk. I know a lot of people are unable to smell certain musks. I'm one of them unfortunately. When I spritz it on I don't get just a touch of rose, I get *all* rose. A powdery, strong rose w/ a touch of cardamom. Very, very feminine. Hard to imagine a man wearing this, but I know a lot who do. They've got to be the lucky ones who can smell the musk. I'm afraid the real beauty of this scent is lost on me....a shame, because I truly love most of LV's creations.
