This is wierd, it does smell like a wet dog. It did an o.k. job of moisturizing my hair, but due to the smell alone, I will not purchase again.

This has been a pretty good once-every-week-or-2 conditioner for my thick, coarse, wavy, dry, brown & silver mature hair, except for one teensy little thing: It smells totally, unbelievably AWFUL! Just heart-stoppingly WRETCHED! Horse manure smells better-I mean it. I would've given it 4 lippies but I took one off for the, um, *aroma.* This almost makes my eyes water & I keep expecting to gag. Why do I use it, you ask? It's b/c the dratted stuff works, & equally as important if not more so, the smell mercifully disappears when my hair dries.
I don't know what ABBA puts in their products to make them smell so bad, but of the few I've bought the only one that smelled worse than this got returned to the store where I'd bought it. The young woman helping me uncapped it, smelled it, opened her eyes wide & passed it to her co-workers, all of whom agreed it smelled particularly terrible.
I wouldn't have used this after the first time if the stuff didn't do a pretty good job. After I use it my hair, made dullish by frequent stress & tending to be a bit wiry, looks much shinier & softer. Aside from the overwhelmingly hellacious smell, my only problem with it is that I need to use it weekly :-), (Really, I know that's my hair, not the product.)
I won't be buying it again though. It doesn't work so well that it'll keep me from looking for something that smells better. As it is, when I blot my wet hair after I use this the towel goes in the laundry, unfit for further use.

Doesn't weigh down my hair but doesn't moisturize it either.

Picked this up because the smell in the bottle was pure AMAZING yummmm,
with the added bonus of natural ingredients. Needed a deep conditioner for my color treated dry (but fine) hair.
HOWEVER, Once the fragrance hits water it turns totally rancid. The "wet dog" smell everyone talks about is very real. Oh it was nasty. About 15 minutes after drying, it goes away, thank the lord.
It didnt give me silky smooth hair or anything, but it was definitely better than any other conditioner I've used yet. Dont really notice any significant "weigh down" on my hair, which is good.
I will update again when I try leaving it on for ten minutes under heat.
Overall, I MAY buy again if I have extra cash lying around. Expensive.
EDIT:
After comparing this to other conditioners, on the days that I wear this I do notice my hair is more lifeless. It just sort of hangs. Won't be repurchasing.

I love ABBA products, particularly the ones designed for dry hair - they are so gentle yet effective. So after reading some of these reviews, I tried this. My hair is very thick and very curly, and gets dried and unmanagable pretty easily. I use this once a week and it's really helped. It doesn't weigh it down but it leaves it refreshed and soft, very easy to take care of. It's not cheap but it's no more expensive than a lot of alternatives I've tried and it works a lot better. My main gripe (and it's big) is the smell - I agree with the earlier reviewers about it being like a wet dog, though possibly worse. It's surprising, because some of ABBA's products smell absolutely amazing. I can hardly stand to have it on me, although it doesn't linger once the masque is rinsed out. However, I see the most recent post says that they've changed the fragrance, so this drawback (which was really the only one) is probably irrelevant now. I also love that it's a vegan formula.

The new scent of this product is amazing! I love it, it's very calm and relaxing to your senses. Cream-Masque moisturizes very well, and is of good quality. I also like that no animals were used in the testing of this product.

So far, so good. Leaves my wiry, fine hair very soft and smooth with added shine. Doesn't make my hair feel gummy or weighed down in the least. Doesn't smell as good as MoistureScentsation, but works even better. Great stuff!

I had to write this review because of the review right below this one. I've been talking about the "wet dog" smell, too! In the bottle, it smells fabulous (IMO), but when it gets on your head, whoa... gross. I've continued using it to this point because it does condition well, but I can't get beyond the funky smell. Usually smells don't drive me away from a product, but this one did. If they changed the fragrance, I'd buy the product again. By the way, I don't have the same issue with the shampoo.

I found this at Ulta on the sale rack. I am always on the lookout for a great deep conditioner since I color my hair and I want my hair to be soft and protected. I have heard great things about Abba products, so I tried this one. It definitely condtioned my hair well, but the smell was really funky. It smelled kind of like "wet dog" for me. It was weird. I couldn't wait to wash my hair the next day after I used it, because I wanted to get the smell out. The product conditioned great, but the smell was so off putting. I am not sure I got a weird batch or something. But I will use it up, because it conditions great but I am not sure if I will repurchase because of the weird smell.

I finished my 16oz bottle & am Re-purchasing! This is a GREAT thick highly effective conditioner. I still like & use Abba Recoup, but I like CM better.
This does wonders for my dry, over processed color treated hair.
Highly reccomend!

I just found this at a sale and tried it for the first time. It seems to be a very good, detangling thick conditioner. It has about 4 fl oz in a squeezable tube. The smell is very subtle which I am really glad about (I hate strong scents). Will update after more uses, but for now, I say thumbs up!

Run, don't walk to Ulta to get this stuff! It's a great deep conditioner tht doesn't break the bank. It's 100% cruelty free too! It's miracle in a tube! Will repurchase.

I used this for the first time today. For those of you familiar with ABBA, I found this to be richer and a bit heavier than Moisture Scentsation and more moisturizing than Recoup (a protein reconstructor). I like it, but will update after several more uses. UPDATE: This is a fabulous, rich, natural ingredient conditioner for processed hair!! Yummy!! ***UPDATE AGAIN 5/21/06 They have changed the smell to a new aromatherapy blend -- it's really quite yummy smelling, but unfortunately they also changed the formula...back down to 3 stars. :(
