this is a staple in my daily m/u routine. i have extremely fine body hair which means that my eyebrows are fine; so fine that i got my eyebrows tattooed (best decision ever!). these days i like to wear my brows a little thicker so the mac stud crayon is perfect for getting the job done. now, i do like to add just a little brow powder on top then i set it w/model in a bottle long lasting eye brow setter & my brows won't budge or smudge.

For some reason I kept re-purchasing this eyebrow crayon at Mac every time I ran out of it. I have thick eyebrows, I brush them upwards (like runway model brows) and I like the use some pencil where my brows are sparse. First of all, this isn't even the right shade for me, but yet it is the darkest eyebrow pencil that Mac has. I am NC15 with very dark brunette hair, not quite black, but dark. This eyebrow pencil stood out in my eyebrows and did not blend nicely. Furthermore, this pencil has NO staying power. All seasons around, this eyebrow pencil doesn't last more than a few hours before you need to use it again. I switched to Chanel's eyebrow pencil, which was only $5 more, and they have my colour (it's like a soft black) and the staying power is AMAZING for the Chanel one. Also, a tip, don't use Mac's eyebrow gel, it's awful! Use Anastasia's, it can be found at Sephora. As much as I love Mac, their eyebrow products suck!

I wear this product every single day! I over plucked my eye brows as a teen and now Im suffering because of it. This product allows me to fill in and shape my eye brows and now I won't leave the house unless I'm wearing it.
I have very dark hair so this shade is perfect for me. I even have my sister addicted now (she wears a slightly lighter shade as her hair is lighter then mine).

This is my go-to brow pencil for about 8+ years now. I always try different brands, but always come back to this. Looks very natural and easy to apply.

After reading the rave reviews for the pencil on here, I ran straight to the MAC counter and bought it right away. Unfortunately, this pencil was disappointing. My eyebrows used to be thick, but after years over plucking in the wrong places, I now have to fill in the upper half, which in my opinion is the most difficult area to fill in without it looking unnatural. I think what we're all ultimately looking for in an eyebrow pencil is something that looks as natural as possible. This pencil, like most other pencils I've tried (apart from maybe Shu Uemura) looked too harsh and obvious. I even tried applying the pencil to the tip of a slanted brush first, then brushing on, but still no luck. I think this may be good for ladies who want to fill in bare spots within the eyebrow itself, but for those like me who essentially have to draw the eyebrow on to nothing, this just doesn't work. I'm back to using powder.

I've been looking for an alternative to my Shu Uemura Stone Gray brow pencil which was discontinued some time ago.
Thanks to the wonderful MUA reviews, I discovered MAC's brow pencil. Stud is the perfect colour for my black brows and the trick is to 'dot' in the brows as opposed to drawing in strokes. That will create a harsh looking brow.
I dot my brows and then brush in the pencil with an old mascara wand for nice, full brows. I then use BB Slate e/s to set the pencil.
I find this combination helps my brows to last for most of the day. I tend to get somewhat oily during the day.
Plus I don't need to sharpen the pencil and it's cheaper than the Shu pencil. Bravo MAC!

This is a major staple! It keeps my eyebrow nice and polished without being too much or looking overdone. Very natural and thin strokes. You must get the correct shade to be this happy!! The makeup artist at MAC will help you

Thank you MAC for creating this brow pencil! I basically have no eyebrows (overplucked them a year ago) so a brow pencil is a must-have for me. I've tried lots of other pencils but the thing I hate about them is that it's SO hard to create a nice defining line with them! Those brow liners may be good for filling in gaps and making your eyebrows look fuller, but they're not so good if you have no eyebrows like me and want to create a nice shape. At least that's my experience. Anyway, the thing I like about this MAC pencil is that it's sharp and skinny, and I think that's important if you want to shape your eyebrows. I find that's it's easier to "mess up" if you have broader pencil.
Something that I've noticed is that this pencil goes on differently depending on my skin type. For example, when I'm at home, I have normal-dry skin, and it's REALLY easy to apply and create a nice line with this pencil. But when I'm out of the country and experience a climate change, my skin gets really oily and it's sooo hard to create the shape with it. (I hope this is just my experience and that you oily ladies haven't experienced this!) But of course skin care products and a primer can help that!
I'm saving up my money, so I have restricted my makeup-shopping. If I ever am in need of makeup, I just buy budget shadows, blush and lipgloss. But I cannot do that when it comes to brow pencils. It's soo hard to let go of this lovely pencil. I will ALWAYS use it until the day when I find something better.

Stud matches my dark brown hair perfectly. Because it's a bit creamy and really pigmented, it's important not to use too much or your brows won't look natural at all. Once I fill my brows in a bit with this, it does not move whatsoever. Even if I wash my face there's still a bit of residue so I use eye makeup remover to take it off before washing my face. This crayon also puts my brows into place- almost like a wax. I've repurchased once and will again.

Simply amazing. This pencil doesn't smudge, doesn't fade and lasts me a few months of use!

I have sparse eyebrows and I find that just a few whisks of this bad boy makes my eyebrows look perfectly manicured. Prior to finding this little gem I was using drugstore brands and was embarassed more than once to find out that half my eyebrow was missing... Mortified I searched for an alternative and have never looked back since.

This particular shade is great if you color your hair black like me as its a very dark brown and looks more natural than a full out black pencil.

Thanks MAC, you never disapoint.

Wow, I just realized I've had my MAC pencil in 'Stud' for YEARS, not months, and it's still going! I think it will finally run out soon, and I'll buy another. Things I love: the very fine tip, no fussing with sharpening. You can easily draw on `hairs` for a natural look. I use it to fill in my brows and as an eyeliner, which creates a great `no obvious makeup` look. I toss it in my bag and I`m set for a weekend away. Lastly, price is no object when it lasts this long... $15.00 is well worth it!

When I first started filling in my brows I bought this. Spiked matches well with my eyebrow color, no issues with smearing or running and no irritation to my skin. I love Mac and would buy this again but a cheaper alternative is define a brow by Maybelline it's a fraction of the price .

For SURE my HG eyebrow pencil. My eyebrows used to be in a pretty bad shape (.....literally speaking) because I went pluck mad. Learnt my lesson, but in the meantime this was my saviour. It fills in smoothly, is easy to control and doesn't go on 'heavy' (although this can be done if you don't have a light hand). I love how it's self-sharpening, really useful not having all the fuss. ONE thing - it doesn't last long, especially if you use it to fill in most of your brows. Because mine have grown back I only use it to create longer brows, filling in the ends because the hairs are quite fine and I like them somewhat thick at the start but end thin. Another thing is that sometimes the twisty part comes off but you can simply slide it back on - just a bit annoying. Totally recommended, smooth application and matches my eyebrow colour to a T. So happy with MAC!! Yet again :-D

1. After trying so many products this pencil is now the ONLY thing I use to make my brows thick and beautiful!

2. Usually powder doesn't make them as well defined as this pencil.

3. I have tried all the colours of these pencils but Stud is the BEST colour because it is so versitile! It is almost a pure brown and no red undertones (like in Spiked). Use a light hand for a light brown and a heavy hand for a darker colour.

4. The trick to make these amazing is by starting with applying the colour with a light hand and in short strokes.

5. If Im in a hurry I use these on my brows AND as an eyeliner and it looks just so natural and defined....

This used to be my HG eyebrow product but not anymore. I was always annoyed that the MAC MUA's and the description of the product say its 'self sharpening'.. Um no.
It gets blunt and therefore gets incredibly hard to do sharp/defined edges. I much prefer something I can sharpen to a strong point.
Don't get me wrong, the product itself is fantastic and I love it but it just annoys me when it gets blunt.
Another con is that you don't know when you're going to run out!!! Then all of a sudden you've done one eyebrow and there is nothing left to wind up to do the next.

My HG eyebrow pencil now is the Australis pencil in Dark Brown and it is only $9 AUD which is great compared to the $32 the MAC crayon is.

LOVE this eyebrow pencil. It is simply amazing.

It gives natural looking finish and work best with angled brush, I think. And the best part is, it is retractable so we don't need a sharpener.

I love the color of these, but the lead is too fine for me. Also its so soft that be careful not to roll it up too much or the lead will break off. I find that its also smudges and wears off through out the day, so set it with translucent powder. It will melt off during the summer and this is not waterproof.

My HG eyebrow pencil. Enough said! Amazing consistency, not waxy therefore really easy to apply - does not hurt. Great colour, suits my dark brows. AND stays on throughout WWIII. Great product, highly recommended!
