I have only given this product 4 stars because it doesn't completely remove makeup like mascara. Having said this, it is probably one of the nicest cleansers that I have ever used for my very dry and sensitive skin. The packaging is very luxurious looking and displays nicely in my bathroom which is something I like. I use other products from BB and I think that this is one of my favourites just because it makes my skin so soft after use and doesn't clog pores or cause breakouts. I think if you don't mind maybe using a seperate eye make up remover and have dry skin that needs constant hydration, then this is a good choice. Oh and also if you don't mind spending a few $$$ as it is very expensive but will however last 9 months to a year. I will buy again and also recommend to others with my skin type.

I have very dry skin and use multiple products from Bobbi Brown's Extra Repair line. The balm rinse cleanser I was interested to try. The consistency is unlike any other cleanser I have tried - similar to vaseline with a mild citrus smell. You only need to use a small amount to cleanse the face so the jar should last a long time.
When first applied it has an almost oily feeling and as you spread it on your face a warming sensation occurs which is unusual but not at all uncomfortable. I find that this is satisfactory in removing most makeup but if you have a lot of makeup on you will struggle to remove everything (it failed with waterproof makeup but that was a given). It definitely has good moisturising properties and my skin is not at all tight or dry after cleansing. I love this cleanser and would cough up the money to repurchase (AUD$120).

Got this as a present. Have to say, it smells gorgeous, it feels gorgeous and i love it! it's very dear though.

I use this with my clarisonic mia and they go hand in hand. I apply it, massage it in with circular upward motions and let it sink right into my skin to get the full effect, then use my clarisonic to remove it.

If you like cleansing balms you'll enjoy this, albeit very pricey you do get 200 mil and it lasts forever.

I loved the smell and feel of this cleanser - also the heavy glass - it felt so luxurious. But expensive - I bought the whole BB skincare line. I guess I could do as the salesclerk told one reviewer and just buy the cleanser. After using, my skin felt clean and moist.

The scent got me! Feels really refreshing, and my face feels super clean after using it. But I took it whit me to a hot climate and it felt really hot on, I stopped using it until I came back home. I'm not crazy about the packaging, it is too big and too heavy. I probabbly won't repurchase since it is so big it will last a long time

This is my new HG cleanser--absolutely LOVE it! I have very dry (think flaky dry), super sensitive, rosacea skin that is prone to breakouts. Lovely. Cleansers tend to either be much to harsh for my skin--causing terrible irritation and dryness, or they simply encourage breakouts--more often the former though.
I stopped by the BB counter to buy some eye shadow (love the cream shadow!) and got talked into this--left feeling a bit unsure of the purchase. Was even more unsure the first time I used it--the consistency is so thick and strange--cleansing dry skin? After a couple of uses--I was totally sold!
I've been using it for about a month now--love the fresh smell, adore how moisturizing it is and even like the consistency! This cleanser is amazing for dry skin!

I bought this product upon recommendation of my best friend. She has very sensitive and super dry skin. At the time, I was fed up with my cheeks being SUPER dry and trying a lot of different cleansers/moisturizers that I gave in and went to Nordstrom to buy this balm. Anyways...about my own skin...I have combination skin. An oily t-zone (not super oily, but it does get oily throughout the day) and dry cheeks.

This balm did nothing for me...quite literally. I returned my cle de peau cleanser because it was $70 and the tube (although it was tall) you had to get a lot of product for you to take off all of your makeup...but it did work. I think it would probably take around 2 months to use up all of it...and I didn't think it was worth it! So I tried this balm! It's expensive, but after all the raves my BFF told me, I had to go buy it.

I went to the Bobbi Brown counter and was assisted by the manager of the counter, telling me it would definitely work for me and my dry cheeks. She applied it on my hand and showed me how I would use it....I bought it. I got home, expecting it to take off my makeup and be my cleanser, and it did not work. When it came to using my toner, I found that there was a bunch of makeup still on my cotton pad...other than that, my face still was super dry.

Not only did the balm not cleanse my face, remove my makeup or help my dry skin, but I don't like the container...super heavy and hard to travel with...I can see that breaking with one wrong turn! I'm also sure it's not hygienic to take out the cleanser that way...does anyone really use the spatula? Definitely did not work for me! I will stick to my simple Cetaphil cleanser and if I get tired of that, I will return to my cle de peau one, despite the price...at least it does what it's supposed to do!

Okay, so I was smelling this at Dillards and the lady came over and asked me if I would like her to make me a sample. I said sure. (So did my male friend, LOL) Well, I have not talked to him yet, but I am SOLD! I am going to be buying a jar at the end of this week. I have been going through a lot of stress lately, and so, ended up with a crap ton of pimples. They have all pretty much dried up, but now I have those uncomfortable dry spots. After using this tonight... my skin felt so calmed. It actually does not hurt for the first time this week. AND... I LOVE THE SMELL. My rough spots are all smoothed out!

I am IN LOVE with this product. I work across from the Bobbi Brown counter and a girl came in and we were chatting about products and she asked me what I thought of Bobbi. Said she likes them but it's expensive and the only thing she buys is this citrus balm.

After she left, I asked the girls if they could make me a sample and OMG, LOVE. A little goes a long way and it takes off ALL my face makeup and it's moisturizing but not greasy. I LOVE the smell, too, and normally I HATE citrus.

This tub will last me forever but I'd definitely repurchase. A little spendy and the packaging is too big to put in my vanity, would be better in a tube but do really love it.

I received a free sample of this so I thought I'd give it a try. I did not like it at all -- I found it difficult to spread on my face (since the directions say to apply it to dry skin) and I needed to use a lot of product. Even after scrubbing it off with a wet washcloth, I could still feel a greasy residue on my skin, so I would recommend following this with another cleanser. The only thing I liked about this product is the citrus scent (and I usually prefer unscented products!). Overall, why pay $55 for this when there are many more affordable, less greasy cleansers that also remove waterproof makeup and sunscreen?

I like to use this product in the winter time when my skin is excetionally dry. It is like putting vaseline on your face only with a very citrusy smell however it rinses off clean leaving your skin looking and feeling refreshed. It takes care of those really dry places.

LOL kellijhudson I thought this was a lip balm too, forever! I finally realized it wasn't when I went to look up how much it cost online. LOL once I used it as a cleanser though I was hooked! However I just can't justify spending that much money on a cleanser. I can see how it would last a long time but I wonder if the jar would get messy, considering the sample size I had was barely enough room to dip a finger into (lip gloss pot sized).

I like this a lot though, as well as the light citrus fragrance! Rinses clean and feels great as it melts into the skin.

I've been trying a sample of this. It feels really nice. I'm developing an old lady taste for the cold-cream type cleansers. I've come to believe that a little friction provides the manual exfoliation that my skin likes. I like to think I'm encouraging micro-circulation, too. Washcloths and fragrant, make-you-want-to-massage-your-face cleansers work for me. I wouldn't buy it for myself, but I do rate it buy-worthy.

I actually got a sample of this and thought, how nice I rich lip balm. I can always use a new lip balm. Well I've been using it as a lip balm since the day I unscrewed the cap. The sample packaging is very deceiving. Now I have gotten to the point where I am almost out and I wanted to get on Makeup Alley to see if there are any others out there that might be that bit better and low and behold, this isn't a lip balm AT ALL! I was shocked! Seriously, still am. This is called Extra Balm Rinse and is supposed to be used as a cleanser.... Are you kidding me? Its like Vaseline. I never!!

Well, what now? Do I buy a $50+ dollar jar of lip balm? I just had to write... was anyone as confused as I was when getting the sample package?

I love this stuff, but I love it for my lips! I love the scent, the texture, the way its makes them dreamy creamy and luscious, I love wearing overnight and waking up to soft supple lips. How can this not be a lip balm???

Age: 30-35   Skin: Dry, Fair, Cool   Hair: Blond, Wavy, Fine   Eyes: Green

Pros:
- Good cleanser
- Skin feels moisturized after using this, not stripped.
Cons:
- Thick consistency, takes a long time to completely rinse off.
- Packaging in beautiful classy looking heavy glass jar, but not suited for travel, a tube would also be more sanitary.
- Price: $55 for 7.3 oz/200 ml. Large jar, but still quite expensive.
- Scent: Heavily orange scented, I would much prefer a more subtle scent.
Overall: A good product, and I will probably repurchase, especially for use during the winter months. Although I appreciate the pampering effect this has on my dry skin and I am willing to put in the extra effort rinsing this off, I would like it even better with less heavy orange oil and I think the price tag is a little too high for what it is.

I can see why many people liked this product. It cleanses well and smells really good. Unfortunately, I had strong adverse reaction immediately after one use (only small amount of products) - red patches all over my face, especially the cheek areas. So, be careful if you have sensitive skin.

I have suffered from stress and hormonal breakouts since turning 35, ugh, and this is great for that. My skin is dry, sensitive somewhat, but oily in the t-zone (wonderful combo, right?). If I wear a full face of makeup, I sometimes take it off with a warm washcloth before using this balm. However, I have just used the balm and it works well. I use this like a previous reviewer and massage it in to clean my skin, then add a little water and rinse well. No tight feeling (which I always get with other cleansers btw), the smell is fine with me, and I use it twice a day. I am ordering the tonic today and hope it works well to "treat" my skin a little. I really don't like the price, a big chunk of change at one time, but it will last a very long time because I use just a pea-sized amount and warm it with my fingertips before rubbing on. I have noticed that I am much more self-indulgent in my "older" age!

I got this as part of a set. I have had problem skin for the last few months - it's basically looked drab and I have had dry spots and breakouts which has been remedied by covering up with foundation and concealer.

Since I have begun using this - WOW. In the three weeks my skin has gone from break outs, red spots and dry patches to glowing, smooth and healthy. The tone has even improved, and I am finding that I'm using minimal makeup (just 2 swipes of a foundation stick and some translucent powder). After use my skin doesn't feel dry - it feels and looks beautiful.

For the record, I also use this with BB eye balm and either the face oil at night, or the Extra moisturising cream for the day.

One potential turn off for sensitive noses will be the citrus smell, but I love it.

The packaging is solid in the full size form, but the travel jar is perfect and only the smallest amount is needed for a thorough cleanse.

I will certainly buy this again.

I didn't want to fall in love with this because it is a pretty pricey product, but I couldn't help it! It is the most moisturizing cleanser I have ever used. Because of the price, I alternate use every other day or so, between this and Bobbi's regular cleansing oil. In the winter, if my skin is feeling especially dry or tight, I will use it more often. It has a wonderful orange essence smell to it that is so refreshing...I love it! The m/u artist from BB who recommended this to me, suggested I mix some of BB's Buffing Beads in with the Balm for an amazing scrub. OMG....my skin has never looked or felt better. It seriously looked like I just had a spa microdermabrasion peel! Fortunately, a little goes a long way, and although I am only on my first tub, I suspect it will last at least six month, if I continue to use it a few times a week. You only need a drop the size of your pinky nail to cleanse your entire face and neck. If you are looking for something to make your skin smooth, soft and glow, this is the product to go for! BTW...the skin is combination, and while moisturizing my dry cheeks, it does not add shine or grease to my oily t-zone, nor has it caused breakouts. It is almost like it helps to equalize the balance between the oil and the dry spots, making the entire texture of my skin more uniform. The more I use it, the more uniform my skin texture looks and feels.
