I haven't been one to touch-up makeup during the day until just recently. I bought this brush, along with the SK blotting papers, to use with my Physician's Formula pressed powder. It does a great job and I would repurchase. I don't think it would make a very good blush brush, but is an excellent travel powder brush. My brush does not shed, so perhaps this problem has been rectified by the company.

Ehh. This brush is no big deal. I'm not crazy about it, but at least I can put it in my purse without it getting dirty or bending. It's not too rough, but it is shaped in such a manner that makes it harder to apply the powder precisely where I want. I won't buy it again, but it was one of those impulse buys that I don't really regret because of the price.

I've had this brush for ages, but didn't feel compelled to write a review until now. I have this at my desk and use it with pressed powder for touch ups during the day. (I have combo skin and tend to get shiny during the day.) I really don't like this brush!! The worst thing is that it sheds like crazy! I usually have 3-5 hairs on my face after every application of powder. I am a busy person and I have no time for that. I think I will end up getting a short handled Italian Badger brush from Coastal Scents to replace this one.

This is a great brush! It picks up just the right amount of color, and is very soft on my face. I love that it is retracable, very travel-friendly. The silver cap and handle look very nice. This is a fabulous brush for the ten dollar price tag, and I will re-purchase it again and again.

i got this to keep in my purse for powder touch-ups. it does have positive attributes--full, soft bristles, handy little case that keeps it clean in my purse. however mine also sheds horribly. every time i use it little hairs are deposited all over my face. so irritating! it keeps me from being able to just swipe on powder quickly cause ive got to examine myself afterward, searching for stray hairs.

i havent washed it yet. if that solves the problem, i will certainly update. so far though, ive had this brush for about 4 months and the shedding hasnt slowed down at all.

overall, great little brush except for the shedding!

As a male, i don't use this for blush, but instead for loose powder. It's a bit thicker then most powder brushes, but it's still pretty soft, very manageable, and picks up alot of powder. Being a guy, i wanted all my equipment to be low-key, and a retractable brush seemed appropriate. It's honestly one of the best retractable brushes i've come accross. The Sonia Kashuk retractable POWDER brush is sooo thick, as if it was meant for bronzer or something else, not for powder. So this blush brush works well for loose powder, and it works well at that. It's small and compact which is ideal for me. I've washed it about 5 times already and it has not shed ONE hair yet. all in all, i'll buy it again, no doubt

I LOVE this brush! Since I don't own a lot of brushes and can't spend a lot on them, I decided to try this $10 brush from my local Target. This brush is a lot better than the drugstore type of retractable brushes that have a stiff shape and equal-length bristles. The Sonia Kashuk brush has a sort of rounded shape perfect for blush. Another plus is definitely the convenience this brush offers with its nifty round metal tube casing. The price is good; overall an awesome product!

I've had this brush for about a year, but haven't used in 6 months until 3 weeks ago when I switched to mineral foundation (and away from the gel blush I was using) and for my powder blush, works very well! Love the fact its retractible, just the right size for blushing. Also, bristles are nice and soft - not irritating on my skin at all. Does pick up a lot of color, so I have to brush lightly to avoid the Raggedy Ann look that another reviewer mentioned. I haven't had any problems w/ any odors (as mentioned by some other folks) but also, have not yet washed it. Mine has been rattling around my makeup case w/ everything else ever since I purchased it and the silver case shows no sign of scratches. Great product and great price!

I actually like this brush better than SK's higher-end retractable kabuki brush. It's very soft, picks up color well, washes easily, and the packaging really does a good job of protecting the bristles. I also have noticed very little shedding from this brush, although I really only use it for blushes and highlighters, so I'm not using it as heavily as the kabuki. So far, it looks like it's going to last a very long time, so I don't know that I'd actually need to repurchase. The next time I put together makeup gift sets for my sisters, though, I'll likely include this brush.
Cleaning tips: I use baby wipes on my brushes after every use, then clean them with a spray-on brush shampoo every two weeks or so. Never allow the base of a brush to get wet, and always dry lying on its side or, if you can manage, at a downward angle. I've not noticed any smell from my blush brush, so maybe not all the brushes have that problem?

This is one of three Sonia Kashuk brushes I own, and I love the little devil.

The casing is a little silver tube with a matching cap that protects the bristles. The bristles themselves rarely shed, catches pigment easily, and blends them well.

The brush-head itself is narrower than most powder/blushers, and it allows for more precise application.

HOW TO CLEAN:
Many people commented on how it smells/flattens when you wash it. The trick, ladies, is to spread the brush out and let it aerate while it dries. Instead of letting the brush stay bunched up, lightly flick the bristles outward with your fingernail to fluff them. The brush will dry quicker, more thoroughly, and will retain its shape if you take the time to do this step.

Overall, portable and useful!

It is very difficult to find a decent retractable brush. I used to own an Annabelle version that had a plastic casing and it eventually cracked beyond repair. So my search was underway to find a replacement. I love the silver casing of the Sonia Kashuk brush, and the sleeve that pulls up over the bristles so that you don't get stray bent bristles (so annoying when that happens). I find that it does the job well though I only use it for my MAC blot powder, not blush. I haven't come across the nasty odour as some other reviewers have mentioned, but I haven't washed it yet so we'll see. I think the price was very reasonable and I would buy it again, unless I find something better that won't break the bank. So overall, I'm happy with this brush.
UPDATE: After a couple of months of use I noticed that this brush sheds a few hairs every time I use it, just like the Sonia Kashuk Powder Brush I own (I've written a separate review on that particular brush). Despite the shedding problem I am still happy with this brush because it does the job and it is really difficult to find a decent retractable brush out there.

I have had this brush for about 2 years. I keep it in my purse along with a pressed powder and use it to touch-up my powder during the day. It really is a very good quality brush for the money, but the silver case scratches very easily, making the whole thing look cheap after a very short time. However, it does the job and has lasted this long, so I can't complain. Also, it doesn't shed at all, and is very full. Would re-purchase if there were no other alternatives to try at the time I have to replace it. I don't think it will need replacing for a very long while, however. Highly recommended.

I really, really wanted to like this brush because I love how it's rectractable, has a cap, and doesn't take up too much space. The silver packaging also looks nice & classy. I use this as a travel powder brush, so I can't attest to how well it works as a blush brush. Shedding is minimal, but the thing that I can't stand is the smell. At first I couldn't notice it, but after a few use, the stench was overwhelming, and I wash this after each use. It smells like a wet dog that hasn't bathe in 10 years. I tried washing this a couple times, dipping in alcohol, etc. but to no avail. I don't know if it's just the one I got, but I probably won't get another. For $10, it's a decent deal if it doesn't smell.

I generally like this brush. I've used it a few times. I love retractable brushes because they are convenient. I got the brush at Target for $10. So far it is working well, not shedding, and the hairs/bristles are soft and large enough for powder. Update: bristles are shedding; consider getting one of SK's better blush brushes before getting this one.

This brush is very cheap in quality the brush itself is fine the hair is nice and soft but the packaging is so cheap that it literally broke apart beyond repair! This isn't a coincidence because a few weeks later the same exact thing happened to my friends. Even though its only $10, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY !!

I really like this brush. The packaging is the best part, and the brush itself is very soft and large enough it could be used for powder too. At the time I bought it, I didn't think it was that cheap, but now that I've seen how much other brushes go for, I think it's a great deal.

This brush is decent for the price, and I love the way it retracts into its little case. The bristles are nice and soft, not scratchy at all. However, I find that it picks up too much blush and doesn't blend particularly well, leaving me with Raggedy Ann cheeks. I swapped mine away.

*Britney Spears "Opps! I did it again!" playing in background.* Ok... I did not know what came over me but let me tell you ladies that I do not come by Target especially with one with the last lone Sonia Kashuk Retractable Blush Brush with the Allure seal on it. I will give this brush the average 3 because it is useful (but it does not compare to high end quality brushes) and I can put it in my makeup bag and I will not care about what happens to it there in where I would fret over an expensive brush!

I love this brush. Its head is nice and dense and it looks great to boot. I may occasionally see some shedding, but no big deal. THey're just hair (and probably fake). Not for applying blush lightly but if you like to pick up pigment, this is your guy.
