to me, it's just 'mehh"... the texture is kind of dry and cakey, which makes me wonder if i got an old one (i bought this during stila's online warehouse sale a couple months back for about $10). it just doesn't glide on effortlessly and smoothly (like mac's fluidlines). also, my liner starts to "crumble' into my tear duct area in the late afternoons. WTH??? blah.. i'll finish up this pot, but i will not be repurchasing. the only positive thing is that you get a lot of product for the price.

This was bought for me as a present - absolutely perfect as I love purple and gel liners.
I love this colour but using it is not so great, I really do wonder if a 'smudge pot' really is a 'gel liner' as it doesn't glide along the lid like a fluidline and instead of the cat's eye line that I aim for, it normally smudges out at the 'wings' no matter how steady my hand is.

I honestly think there is nowhere near enough love for this product. I have purchased this several times over. I use it professionally as well as personally. I adore this rich, well pigmented gel liner and find the texture very workable. Plum as with all the Stila Smudge Pots are extremely long lasting and work equally fabulously as a liner or as a kick butt eyeshadow base. As a liner, I use either NARS Push brush #2 or Stila #4 brush. Both work well. Tightlining...OMG! *faints* So pretty. As a base, I either use my finger or Px Eye Paint brush (this is a gem btw) to apply. I wholeheartedly feel everyone should have a look at this beauty, especially CCCs, GGGs, and DDDs ( because I know you're thinking there's not enough out there for you). Love it!

I have a collection of fluidlines and after hearing raves about Stila Smudge Pot, I have decided to give it a go.
I picked Plum because I love purple and i know its the color i will wear all the time.
Put it on first time today, absolute dissapointment.
It doesnt glide as well as fluidline, and dry up too quickly when i was working on it
By the time i finish drawing my right eye, the product on the back of my hand already turn into near solid form!
My fluidlines never give me that problem and will never buy another smudgepot again >:(

My HG is Bobbi Brown gel eyeliners but I wanted to try out these Stila Smudgepots. Maybe I made a bad choice, they had SP LE shimmer liners at the store but I didn't know they were better than these original colours, so I bought this one. I found it dry and cakey and flakey and it just didn't last as long as BB, it went flaking off throughout the day. The colour is very beautiful however, a gorgeous deep plum or deep purple that really makes my dark brown eyes stand out (but then again I've read that purple looks great on everyone). I'd like to get BB's violet shade for comparison one day, really lemming a MAC Fluidline since it's almost impossible for me to get one because they don't have a MAC counter in my smallish city sighhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

Best Eyeliner! Smudges Very Nicely! Mixed with Gray, it's the best for Brown eyes. I'd totally repurchase.

if you think smudge pot is ace, i bet you didn't try MAC fluidline nor Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner. The texture of smudge pot is frustrating, cakey and dry, if you want a smooth line, smudge pot is hopeless. I bought black and plum at the same time and hate them both. Could give a zero if I could. I heard that they have changed their formula in their latest edition that packed with lots of shimmers, but boy, no. I'd stick with my MAC Fluidline. They are cheaper and work WAY WAY WAY better than this one.

eh..my first stila smudgepot was black.. i loved it so much.. then gradually i got the other colors.. brown was good. nacy was ehh.. but when i got plum from sephora.. i hated it already on the first day. When i applied it, the pigment really sucked.. it was drying out and it wasn't quite like a gel formula... i'd stick with mac's fluideline.. much more gel like and pigmented.

I like this, and it works even better when you mix it with Smith's Rosebud Salve before applying. That's too much work for everyday. I like the color, but it's not really pigmented enough and it's not really gel-ly, so I barely ever use it. Shame, though, because I wanted really badly to love this.

I don't think this color is "plum" enough. It doesn't show up very well..although I love my brown smudge pot, I just haven't had success with this color.

I was very disappointed in this product, and will never purchase another Smudge Pot- ever. They are a complete waste of money! I had such high hopes after reading reviews in magazines, but I guess you can't believe everything you read! First of all, I found the application frustrating and messy. I had to keep going over the line to build up any color! Then, I noticed all the flakes/drippies on my cheeks and under my eyes after application, and darn near had to remove all of my foundation to get it off!
Bottom line: Not worth the price or aggravation. Stick with MAC Fluidlines or BB gel liners.

I got this in a swap, and I had high hopes for it. The packaging is great - very chic looking and keeps everything neat. However, the consistency of the cream is too dry for me to get a good application. I'll stick with Smashbox's cream eyeliners

Okay first I love this color, but way too much work for an oily lidded lass like me. I had to take it back to the counter to get a tutorial on how to make it work for me (it was not going on evenly, caking and crumbling off) and the MA first swipped my eyelid with an oil absorbing toner, then added an e/s base. It goes on okay as long as I have a "clean lid" with a base, but the texture of the Plum Smudge Pot leaves a lot to be desired. It's not nearly gel-like more like playdoh! I find this so irritating to use (even though the color is very pretty on my blue-green eyes) that I rarely use this and it just sits and collects dust. BTW I just bought a MAC Fluidline in Macroviolet and so far the texture is amazing and it goes on beautifully, everything I wanted my Smudge Pot to be. And way cheaper, especially in Canada.

I was really excited to buy this as it was my first smudge pot and plum looks great with hazel eyes. But like many of the other reviewers I had a hard time just putting it on much less making it stay. Its consistency is almost sticky and clumpy at the same time-so stupid. I haven't lost hope though-I am going to try out the charcoal or navy smudge pot and maybe I'll have success.

I agree with the other reviewers- Plum doesnt apply quite like the other Smudge Pots. I have one in Brown also, and its so smooth and creamy. This one is hard to pick up with the brush (reminds me more of the consistency of the BB Gel liners) and does not go on evenly. I would suggest the other Smudge Pots, but not this one.

The Stila smudge pot in black is my eyeliner staple. However, I would advise against the plum. While the purple color is nice, the consistency is entirely different than the other colors. It goes on dry and extremely faint, unlike the smooth, creamy consistency of the other pots. I would definately not repurchase.

I am quite disappointed with this one. I was very excited to get it after loving my smudge pot in brown -- but like people have said on here, the plum does not go on as smooth or as rich. As a matter of fact, I used a ton and still couldn't get more than a spotty light purple line -- so I'm giving this a low score. However, don't throw in the towel on all of these, as my brown smudgepot is fantastic.

I don't know what the deal is with this stuff, but I found it to be Really Awful! I tried many times to apply this with a Bobbi Brown fine eyeliner brush and what a pain in the butt. I was told at Sephora that I needed a push brush. Even if I used that, I don't believe it would have made a difference. I had to really coat the brush to get any color at all , then when I would finally get the color, it would cake up and dry to a flaky mess. I suppose it is possible that I got an old one, but I never had that much trouble with Bobbi Brown. I returned it to Sephora and it's back to pencil liners for me.

This stuff is nice. The colour goes on well and stays on well. But, for the price, MAC eyepaints are just as good and have more variety of colours to choose from.

Possibly the worst eyeliner I have ever used in my life. I would give this a zero if I could. Application of the color was very uneven and cakey and the product itself tended to clump off. I don't know if it was a bad batch I received but I really regret this purchase, especially since BB's gel eyeliner works so much better.
