It works better than most other topical acne spot creams I've used before, but it is not a miracle cure or anything. It is strong, and does seem to help reduce my monstrous zits a little. You have to use it sparingly though, and make sure you only apply it to the zit...because the surrounding skin WILL peel. So I *think* it works and might have helped a little bit (it's always hard to tell), but even when I used it on my ubermonster zits, my monster zits were still visible for weeks & went along their explosive course anyway. Not a 3 day cure for me, though it may work better for other people. So 3 lippies.

Was a god send during an acne crisis! Had it cleared up in 3 days. Of course it dried out my skin, but nothing a good moisturizer didn't take care of.

I don't have many break outs but when I do this product works very well at getting rid of them. It usually works in a day or two at the most. The thing I don't like about it is that it works against you skin instead of with it(like a more natural product would-vitamin e cream). It really drys my skin out. I much prefer a strong vitamin e cream.

I was hopeful that this product would work after I read the reviews here. It didn't do one thing for me. Neutrogena On-the-Spot isn't a miracle, but it does work better than this acne treatment.

I have very acne prone skin, which scars easily. I was excited to see a product with both BP and Glycolic Acid in it.
After searching for it (apparently it was discontinued), I found a tube. The expiration date states 10/05.
I've been giving it a chance, but it seems to break me out more than what I'm trying to clear up. I am terribly disappointed, but I suspect that it might have something to do with it being an "old" product, even though it hasn't expired yet.
I applied it to my face, and it never fully seemed to "dry". It was like a damp sluge sitting a top my skin. Not a great feeling at all.
I am going to test it out again, this time under the NEW packaging (the Total Control line has been put into the Clearasil Ultra packaging) so this product is still out on the markert - it is in a shimmery tube.
Will update when I do so.

I've had this huge zit on my cheek for about a week now. I've been using this every single day and it has done absolutely nothing!! I started putting a salcylic acid treatment on it and its finally starting to disappear. I hate to be the minority here, but it didn't work for me at all.

Is it true this is being discontinued? For a few months I've been having bad acne around my chin. Everything else didn't work so I decided to use this and wow...it DOES work. After 4 days my face was completely clear. I'm absolutely shocked. This is deffinately the BEST product I've tried.

This is the best zit cream ever. I admit it does dry out the skin, but it WILL clear it up, and you WILL see some improvement after 3 days. Note that it contains BP, which will bleach your towels and other dyed fabrics. I had been annoyed with using Neutrogena products containing 2.5% salicylic acid because it appeared they weren't doing anything, and I just wanted to clear up/prevent the occasional breakout. Now my skin looks clearer than it has in years--I have been using this for about 6 months. Make sure to use a good moisturizer to combat the drying effects of this, and start with one application per day.

I have not used this product but I have noticed that many of you are comparing this to the Clearasil Ultra. Yes they both seem to have the same ingredients except for one ingredient. But after researching, Clearasil Ultra's ph is a 7 so it is not good for exfoliation. The Total Control Acne Crisis's ph is a 4 which is much better for exfoliation and acne prone skin. The benzoyl peroxide will help with any blemishes. But if you want the better overall product, this is the one!

Okay, this is the best acne cream I have ever purchased and I have bought them ALL!!! This will kill your zit over night! Excellent on getting them right when you see them starting to surface before they get really out of hand. It just shrinks 'em back down and they diappear! On an allready exsisting largish pimple, expect about 2 days before you see them diappear. Great stuff and I would definately repurchase!!!! Much better than regular old clerasil!

Why are they discontinuing this??? I saw it marked down to $5 at Walgreens and bought every tube! This breaks my heart... I need to find something else for when I run out and nothing is good enough! I stopped using it for a week and my skin went to crap!

I love how this isn't just benzoyl peroxide - it also contains alpha hydroxy to even skin tone and exfoliate. It's better than all the rest, period!

The best acne cream in the world! Better than Persa-Gel, better than Brevoxyl, better than N.V. Perricone's and P.T. Roth's expensive ones, even better than Retin-A. I smear it on generously at night, although I could use it in the morning since it mercifully does not have the gritty white residue of most BP products (*cough* perricone *cough*)Thanks to the Glycolic, my skin is beautifully smooth as well. If you're a sensitive type, please stay away, as the combo of 10% BP and glycolic will probably irritate. But for us iron-skinned types with a high irritancy threshold, it's a Godsend. Unfortunately not available in Australia but I'm having friends send it to me. NB: the Clearasil "Ultra" formula is the same thing, and just as good.

This is a great product. Whenever I get bumps on my forehead, it is the only thing that clears it up...and I've tried all the benzoyl peroxide products in the drugstores...so if persa gel, neutrogena 2.5, oxy, zapzit, drugstore brands (the CVS benzoyl peroxide gel used to be pretty good, now its kind of gritty) didn't work for you, try this!!

This product has been a godsend for me--someone with oily combo skin who's had the 3 allowed courses of Accutane and is still dealing with adult acne. I'm hyper-sensitive to products with benzoyl peroxide, so I usually avoid them, but all the raves made me venture outside my comfort zone. And I am SO GLAD I did--almost everything cleared up in a few days and no BP-related burning or flaking. This is never leaving my medicine cabinet!

I bought this based on the MUA reviews after my skin broke out. I was desperate, and this did the trick. After three days, my skin was significantly more clear. It did dry out my skin, though. I tried Clean and Clear's Persa-gel and I find that the Persa-gel works just a little bit better for me. It's less drying and it seems to shrink pimples faster.

ok i bought this for 5 bucks at target. it comes in like a 2 oz tube. it says results in 3 days. well today is the third day and i do have to say im impressed, i have been through everything with my acne and i still breakout. this has actually toned down my redness and made my existing pimples and some blackheads go away. i plan to keep using it everyday, but i am afraid i will run through the tube too quickly BUT if it works, im not complaining and so far so good! no burning or drying of skin either.

What a great product! While a didn't see much of a change after three days, I saw a pretty significant one after four. It did make my face feel al ittle dry in some areas, but it didn't make it red or flaky so it's fine with me. This product reduced the size of my pimples and my pores that had seemed very large before. I would definitely recommend this product! EDIT: Equate Medicated Acne gel is so much better than this!
