Herba Fresca is my perfect rainy day spring/summer scent. I'm a tea fanatic, and this reminds me of one of my favorites, Tazo Zen. After an initial blast of mint in the opening it calms down to a blend of green tea, lemon and mint. It's a bit mysterious and mercurial... I get a different balance of these notes each time I wear it (more lemon today). I'm very impressed with the lemon note because my skin normally eats citrus notes and this one sticks around. The lemon here reminds me very much of one of my first fragrance loves, Love's Fresh Lemon. Smelling this on a scent strip just doesn't do it justice. You really have to test on skin to get the full effect. I'm sure I will go through my bottle quickly, and I will be sure to repurchase before I run out.

Wanted to love it. Saw it in Lucky Magazine in a piece about great summer fragrances. I'm a green fragrance girl - grassy, herby, citrus. I thought this would be right in my sweet spot so I drove almost immediately to Sephora to check it out. Two words - acid rain. It is sooooooooo minty that the more approachable notes are almost lost. It also has virtually no lasting power which is so important for a summer fragrance. Yes, it's unique - but not in a good way. The bottle is gorgeous.

I can't live without this fragrance. Most "fresh" scents end up smelling like bug spray on me. This is light and subtle, and even when I can't smell it, I have people stopping me in the street to ask what I'm wearing. It's totally unique. I couldn't buy it for a while, and I nearly went out of my head trying to find an alternative.

I love this scent, smells like green/minty leaves and fresh lemon. The bottle is also gorgeous with the golden beehive, the only thing I dislike is the staying power it does not last that long.

MY go-to fragrance when its hot and humid. So fresh and doesn't turn sour even at the end of the day. Bottle is also very pretty. Among my collection, this is the one I reach for most often.

I got a nice size sample of this & I must say, I love Guerlain fragrances but this one is not to my liking. I have never cared for spearmint chewing gun and that is the high note right off the bat with this smell. After it tones down a bit it is not so bad but it is still too lemony for my liking. I would never buy this for myself or anyone else unless they said they wanted it.

a great scent for hot days. very green without smelling like grass cuttings. fresh and simple. i've been wearing this with the mandarine basillic all summer! not GREAT staying power and i wish the mint lasted longer, but still highly recommended. that being said, i don't think i wore this once in the colder months (and there are a lot of those in toronto).

If you like green and menthol scents, this one is for you! It is one of my favorite perfumes, along with Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria "Mentafollia" but this one here has an even stronger menthol scent, I would say and leaves you feeling fresh all day. Love it.

Imagine yourself running wild in a botanical garden in Mongolia... wait, is there even a garden over there? Anyway, you get the idea. This fragrance is fresh, clean, a brand new turnaround from the traditional floral and fruity perfumes. I can wear this on any day of the week! Highly recommended.

Good old Herba Fresca! I remember when this first came out, or early days anyway. I was enamored of the pretty Aqua Allegoria bottles, found them at a great price, and got a couple. My first try at Herba Fresca left me baffled and distressed. I came back to it a few times, took a few consults...
Then summer came, and Herba Fresca came into its own -- the mint note was no longer wierd and unpleasant, the floral drydown wasn't a gatepost for resentment, and I knew what to expect when I wore this. It's herbal, opens in a light mint note that lives in herbal/spearmint, not toothpaste, and dries into a floral/herbal. Lily of the Valley takes over about 20" in or so, and ultimately this comes off almost like Clairol Herbal Essence shampoo, but in a good way.
It's fresh, unisex, never unpleasant in my experience, and perfect in summer. It's also a little odd, but once you get past the very unique mint opener, it's very easy to find yourself craving it.

When I read the notes for this, it sounded perfect: citrus, mint, tea, lily of the valley. All things I love. I was particularly excited about the mint. Unfortunately, that's not what I get when I wear this. It starts out with a faint burst of citrus mixed with grass, then turns soapy and finally the dry down is again grassy. I don't get mint from this at all. It is not an unpleasant scent but it did not live up to my expectations.

I love this fragrance. This would be awesome to wear in the heat of summer - so cool and refreshing. And something different from my collection of citrus and light florals that I usually wear during the warmer weather. There is nothing sweet about this fragrance, it's just purely refreshing. I smell bitter citrus (like in the rind of a grapefruit), fresh herbs, and mint. Will be purchasing a full bottle for sure.

Fresh mint, lovely flowers, and dewy grass, what else do you need? Herba Fresca is sparkling and pretty all the way down, and its lasting power isn't bad either. It's clean without turning into an air freshener, and it's friendly without ever ceasing to be interesting. It's absolutely the best perfume to wear when dancing or doing anything where you might work up a sweat. This is the perfume that turned me into a fragrance junkie.

This is something that I have been searching for for a looong time. In the heat of the summer or on any warmer days, fresh fragrances are just great. The only "fresh" type of a fragrance I can do is something very green in a very natural way. I used to say that I hate green fragrances - that was a few years ago, and based on my experiences with scents such as Escada Sport Country Weekand. I used to think that "green" i perfumery means synthetic, uninteresting and flat. When I started to focus on green scents in a different way, like when I smelled nicely-done green tea scents or something that evoked the real herbs or the real grass/plants. I then found greenies absolutely nice and amazing. I loved Calamus from CdG and CdG tea scents, I enjoyed bath and body rainkissed leaves because it really smelled like real leaves and the rain... then it came to this one, Herba Fresca... absolutely amazing! It never smells synthetic/ozonic. it is the scent of real herbs and beautiful green tea. Starts out with an amazing spearmint opening, the it dries down to something that smells of a freshly-brewed cup of green tea with just a touch of lemon/mint in it. It is also one of the very few herby scents that bloom stunningly on my skin. I almost feel like... drinking out of my bottle! Anyways I really think it's a great scent, not only fresh but also beautiful and stunning.

WOW! This is a really nice, high quality, classy smelling fragrance. It's fresh & distinctive, feminine & pleasant.
The bottle is very pretty & elegant also. It doesn't try to be sexy or cute. It seems both modern & old at the same time.
I recently sat next to someone who smelled AMAZING. I wanted to tell them they smelled like a botanical garden, but I thought I might come off as a weirdo :P.
So while I was at Sephora recently I tested this out and that was it! The very same fragrance.
It's minty, it's fresh, it's like standing in the middle of a botanical garden on a perfect cool spring day in a pretty, girly dress and feeling both calm and energized.
That's how I would describe this scent.
I'm so glad I stumbled across this same scent I admired so much on another woman recently. I never tried the Guerlain Aqua Allegoria fragrances before, and I was missing out because they are some lovely and different scents.
Now if only it wasn't sold out at Sephora! ugh!

Acqua Allegoria's Herba Fresca is a soft minty fragrance that smells like freshly torn mint leaves if you subtract out any possible sharpness. As the fragrance mellows, hints of thyme, marjoram and grass come through but it is all handled in an extremely light way. If I really put my mind to it, I can smell the green tea and lemona verbena notes. It reminds me a lot Comme des Garcons' Peppermint perfume except that Herba Fresca is a tiny bit sweeter. In any event, Herba Fresca conjures up wonderful images of a summer evening on a stone terrace at a farmhouse deep in Provence surrounded by lush herb garden.
Here are the notes, courtesy of Sephora: Citrus, Clover Leaf, Italian Lemon, Peppermint, Green Tea, Lily of the Valley, Cyclamen, Pear Blossom.

yet another fragrance that has created devastating results on me. a test on the guerlain website told me that this is the fragrance for me. well, the reality turned to be rather different. dear herba fresca, where is your mint, where is your freshness, or greenness? Another reviewer has mentioned exactly the same thing:this is mint tea with lemon I was given whenever I had tummy ache. dry mint with warm lemon, herba fresca is nothing refreshing on me. it is rather warm. I did not expect this from this fragrance. The tummy ache medicine effect started 1 minute after the unfortunate spritz and lasted for 4 hours. I'm kind of sad about it, I suppose.

Lovely, refreshing scent on me. The spearmint is very apparent in the top note, but quickly dries down to balance out the cut-grass scent. This has a very green, herby presence on me, without being floral or overly harsh or crisp. Can't really envision wearing it in winter, but a delightful summer scent.

My favorite "it's too hot to wear anything else" perfume. I'm not normally a green scent person, but when the thermometer goes way up and the weather is sizzling hot....that's when I break this one out. It's refreshing and fairly light, so light that I actually spray it on myself (normally I favor oriental scents that require a much lighter hand, and just dab a little bit on pulse points). The lasting power is probably the only complaint I have, as I've even owned Demeters that stuck around longer. This seems to last a few hours, tops. To me this is actually more complex than many people seem to give it credit for. I don't find the mint overpowering at all, to my nose it blends very well with the grasses and citrus.

Very refreshing Minty/herbal scent. Perfect to cool down in hot weather. Luca Turin calls this one 'Weird Mint' and rates it three 'adequate' stars. I think it's more than adequate; on a hot summer day nothing cools you down better than refreshing green herbal mint......... nothing. Except if you keep it in the icebox! Then.. it's just delightfully cooling and almost decadent. Iced tea... a good book and a few spritzes of AA Herba Fresca... and you'll be refreshed and better in no time. Herba Fresca is indeed one of the 'Chicken Soup for the Perfume Lovers Soul' scents.
