I live by Power Dressing. This product takes my straight, limp hair and makes me look like I have thick, beautiful hair. My stylist told me that Pureology has quit making it!!! I can't imagine why, it is the BEST styling product ever. Does anyone know of anything that compares? My hair is fine, straight, and pretty limp. I get it highlighted to add some texture, but I have to put in power dressing to get any fullness.

I absolutely love this product! A little dab goes a long way and it made my hair fall effortlessly into place. It also adds a great natural shine without greasiness.

I hardly ever review hair products, but I definitely wanted to review this one. I got this on sale for $9.99, so I couldn't go without trying it out! Power Dressing is a thick, yellow/gold cream that you put in your hair for volume, hold, and shine. It does all of these things! My hairdresser uses it on my short hair to hold the style of the round brush when I blow it out. It does hold the shape of my round brush, and also gives me volume and movement. I couldn't believe how good my hair looked yesterday; it looked like I stepped out of a salon! Great product. I know people don't like the smell, but I quite like it. It smells like pure vanilla to me.

My stylist recommended that I get this after cutting 12 inches of my hair off. When I had long hair I rarely blow dried it because it took so long, but now that it is shorter I need some product in my hair before blow drying it.

I'm not really sure what this product is supposed to do...I have A LOT of hair, so I really want something that is going to volumize. I don't feel that this is really doing that for me.

I still have to use a root lifting product along with this.

I think it's a nice product to use in place of gel or mousse, but it's very pricey and yes, it does smell like playdoh. Will use up the bottle but will not be repurchasing.

I'm not sure if this retains color as it states, but it is a great styling product. You only need a small amount but it really helps build volume and holds your style. I have an asymmetrical bob and pretty fine hair so great hold is a must for me. I'm not crazy about the price or the smell (remember play-dough) but you only use a little so I can live with both.

I worked as a receptionist in a hair salon and saw many hair stylists who worked there using this product on their clients. When a professional likes a product I usually take the hint. So I purchased power dressing, and I use it almost every day. I blow out my hair every other day, and I use power dressing on my hair while it's wet then I blow it out. The packaging is great, because it's a pump which is easy to use. There is some shimmer in the product which isn't very noticeable, but it does get on your hands a bit. My hair looks shiny and voluminous, but also it works as a hair forcefield keeping my style in place all day. My hair feels thicker which I love. The only downside to this product is the price. All pureology products are expensive. I feel as though I would purchase again, but there is so much product in the bottle and you need so little that I can't forsee when I'll have to repurchase :o)

This product is great at multi-tasking! It adds great volume, and gives texture/definition, and adds shine. I love the shimmer (mica?) in it that gives shine, and I adore the vanilla scent! However, I was looking for a product that would work well to air-dry my hair, and this was not it. It is meant for blow-drying only I believe. For a blow-out it is great, but not good for fine hair that is air-drying.

I am very picky when it comes to styling products, but this one is great. I tend to have semi-oily roots with dry ends, so it's hard to find a product that won't weigh my hair down on top and dry it out on the bottom. This product is alcohol free so it isn't drying and it's very lite. I use this when my hair's damp & it gives a nice amount of volume & hold, still with plenty flexibility. It also smells AMAZING! The scent isn't too strong, but you still get a few pleasant wiffs of it during the day; I love it. If you buy this in a salon, it is bound to be a little pricy, so I reccomend searching it on the internet for a lesser price. I found mine for much cheaper on beautydeals.net; they also have great customer service. The packaging of this product is nice, too because you just press the top and a nice, medium-sized dollop comes out; which is all you'll need. This stuff is something I will always have in my bathroom. Very highly reccomended!

Smells like Play Doh! and it's the stickiest product ever. I could barely run a brush through my wet hair after application (of just one pump), I had to rinse it out! Love Pureology and use about 5 or 6 of their products- all amazing, but this is a big miss!

awesome for holding curls in place even without hairspray. i have annoying curl-resistant hair and this helps me keep them longer than 2 hours. go easy on how much you apply, a little goes a long way.

One of my must haves at home in the hair dept. I have fine limp hair it definitely gives me fullness and a lift that I havent been able to find in other products. You do have to be careful in the amount you apply and how you apply it, but once you get that down, you can achieve many different styles with this product. And it smells like cake!

This product works best for medium/fine hair. For my medium-thickness, long hair, it did wonders in the arid climes of Arizona, where I bought this product after forgetting my Fredrick Fekkai at home. When I used it in San Diego, however, I found that it weighed the hair down more, so I used a little less. It does create volume and aids in styling - I round brushed my ends and the curl stayed - something that could not happen without the product in the hair. For my hair type, I will use this again when in AZ-like conditions (dry, hot).

I received this in a swap and am glad I did! I don't use it alone--I use it to give extra hold, body, and a shine boost to other products, like the FF MORE mousse I'm using up now (yuck) or my usual Graham Webb Halo mousse. It works great to give guts to a light-hold product and really makes my hair shiny. A half-pump of it does the trick. And if you use heat (especially a curling iron or straightening iron), it's the BOMB for protection and hold. If you have fine hair (which I do, but a lot of it), this is definitely worth your dollars.

I got Power Dressing at my beauty school as a prize for winning a retail award and I thought I'd try it. I'm so glad I did!

My hair is noticably fuller when I use this, and it holds so much longer than just hairspray or volumizing spray would! There's a fine line between how much you should apply, though... I find that if I don't use enough, I don't get very good results. And if I use too much, my hair gets stiff and tangled. The scent is kind of strange, sort of sweet like honey or vanilla, but once my hair is blowdried it smells kind of like baby powder. And it leaves my hands sticky after I apply it. But since I got it for free, I really don't have any complaints!

I would recommend this to anyone with fine or limp hair... just make sure you don't apply too much!

This is the best styling product that I have used and I have used many. It only takes a small amount to achieve the same result as using two or three different products which I have done in the past. I have fine naturally wavy hair. I use this product when I scrunch dry, for a curly look or for when I straighten. Either way is does just what I expect something called "Power Dressing" to do. It holds your style without any stiffness. Your hair will look and feel very healthy. I have gotten lots of complements since I started using this product. Well worth the money.

Great product. THANK GOODNESS it works, given the price. One pump on my shoulder length hair is more than enough. I blew it dry and set it in rollers for a bit and now have the most body ever! No crunchiness; vanilla scent is not my favorite, either. When I shake my head from side to side, I can FEEL how much body it has. WHO KNEW?

UPDATE: This is too sticky in the long run. I did have some good styles with it, but sticky and...stinky.

WHen I had shorter hair, I would buy this all the time. This gives a lot of volume when blowdrying, withount that sticky feel. The smell is great, almost like vanilla maybe? Love this stuff.

At first, I hated this product. My stylist recommended it for volume for my fine, thin hair and told me to use one pump of the stuff. Well, I did, and it gave me AMAZING volume, but my hair REEKED. It didn't smell like the fake vanilla, it smelled like my hair was dirty and hadn't been washed for a week. I stopped using it for a while, then decided to try again, with only a tiny tiny bit of the stuff. It still gives me amazing volume, but now my hair doesn't stink. Weird. But I really like this, especially for volume for a night out.

I've been using this for about a week, and so far I like this stuff. It smells really good for one (only if you like vanilla though). It also has great hold. I think the trick is using just a tiny bit, and working it into your hair really well before you blow dry. I only use it on my bangs to and the top of my hair to hold my fine straight hair into place and give it a little style. I agree that it can get a little stiff, but for me its a trade off for the great hold it has.

I dunno why this gets such bad reviews, this is really a great product. It smells great too, like Vanilla sort of. Anyway, I put this in my short, wet hair.. then blowdry for lots of volume and hold. I keep coming back to it so it must be doing something right.
