Overall a good cleanser. It cleans really well and leaves no residue. It works well with my cleansing brush, but can be a bit too cleansing for the brush.

I find that it leaves my skin somewhat sensitive after using it, as though my skin is almost too clean. I didn't really think that was possible until using this cleanser but it really strips all of your natural oils and you must tone and moisturise after using this cleanser. No compromises.

All in all a good cleanser but I think there are other good cleansers out there for half the price. Would not repurchase because of the price.

HG cleanser. I have been absolutely loving this stuff. It removes makeup and cleanses my face beautifully, leaving my skin smooth and clean, with zero redness, irritation, or tightness. My super sensitive, acne-prone skin couldn't ask for more. Quite expensive at £28 for the standard size, which I scooped up at a local spa. I have gone through endless cleansers, from high end to drugstore, oils to gels, and everything in between, and I can't see myself switching from this until they stop making it. I use it in conjunction with a wash cloth for best results and have been following up with moisturisers from Eucerin morning and night.

This was my favourite cleanser for my oily and acne prone years, but my needs have changed and it's not as wowing for my now dry skin. A little goes a long way and I enjoyed the texture which offered good slip and cushioning for a gentle massage. It lathers well and rinses nicely. Also pairs wonderfully with Dermalogica pre-cleanse, but really you could use any decent cleansing oil then use this as a second cleanse. I wouldn't say it's gentle as it's very effective at cleansing sebum and dirt. It could be drying at times, especially in winter or if I didn't moisturise straight after.

It's pricey but I think Dermalogica has well curated lines, so if the large bottle is too expensive I'd suggest buying a pack of deluxe sample sized products in the line (cleanser, exfoliant, moisture, lip balm) for half the price of one full sized. It was much more economical for my student budget and the 50mL cleanser alone would last 2 months of twice daily use. I'll happily repurchase if my skin ever becomes oily, combination or acne prone again.

I'm so sad that I have nothing positive to say about this cleanser. I purchased it from a boutique, after being told it is a very gentle, and mild, every day cleanser. They only had the large bottle ($69 CAD) available. Because I've never had problems with a daily face wash before, I did buy it regardless of the price.

I have normal to oily/combination skin. it's not sensitive to ANY THING, and I very rarely if ever get dry patches on my cheeks and etc. This cleanser was awful.

It started out leaving my skin feeling very clean, but I saw no changes at all. A few days later, I didn't notice any difference in my skin still. If anything, it looked a bit worse. Pores more noticable, and my makeup was not going on nice and smoothly as it had before. Come up to a week and my skin is now feeling dry, and dusty. I have horrible red blotches from irritation. If I run my fingers over my skin, it feels horrible. My makeup looked awful, because my skin was so dried out.

I've never, ever had such a bad experience. Especially not with a brand name like dermalogica. Do yourself a favour, and go for literally any face wash on the market. Any soap can get your skin clean, but this doesn't benefit your skin in any way.

I started using this product line after trying out the Clinique 3 step system. I was looking for a non-alcoholic toner and i like to stick to the same range so my mother recommended my Dermalogica. Personally i really like this cleansing gel, it cleanses my skin nicely however i think after washing it, if i didn't put any toner/moisturizer it'll feel a little tight/dry. Also, when i first transferred from Clinique i broke out for a couple of days, not sure if because stressed/period or was this cleanser but now i rarely break out, maybe like one or two small acne before my period. I don't think this cleanser will work on people with dryer skin. When i went on holiday to brisbane for a bit, the air was very dry and my face was not hydrated enough despite the amount of water i drank. My skin is combination oily so combined with the toner + moisturizer this cleanser does the job! :)

Okay long story short. I have been a dermologica lover since the age of 15 and I am 20 years old now. However one day I was told that the certain product range I was using from the dermologica brand was meant for "adolescent skin" and was re directed to use the dermologica special cleansing gel along with 3 other products from the "adult range". I have never been so disappointed in a product relating to my skin. I have combination/oily skin and this cleanser.. yes it got rid of my oily t-zone but it dried out my skin to the point where it wasn't getting a healthy glow but rather an almost wrinkled and lifeless complexion. Yes, I do get the occasional breakouts here or there prominently on my forehead and chin but nothing to major and this face wash caused what looked like tiny little bumps ALL OVER my face. I do understand that when you change face products especially face cleansers you may breakout due to dirt that may not have surfaced before from not cleansing properly or changing to a product that promises a deep cleanse (such as the special cleansing gel) but I used this face wash for a reasonable amount of time hoping for the best but however it just seemed to get worse. As a 5 year dermologica lover it saddens me to write such a disappointing review but for the price I paid compared to my original face wash I had really high hopes. The only positive thing I can say about this product is that I quite liked the packaging, simple yet sophisticated. Also dermologica handled my complaint about the purchase very professionally and promptly and allowed me to exchange the products they had recommended for my supposedly "adolescent" face products. Great customer service but overall terrible product. If anyone is looking for a great face cleansing regime I 100% recommend the "clean start" range from dermologica!

This stuff smells so good. Mm. And it lathers up on my face like crazy. It's a great face cleanser. The only reason that I wouldn't buy this again is that I'm buying more products intended for dry skin. Oily and combo skin people would love this.
I'm more interested in the effect a product has on my skin, but I have to say, if this scent was in a body wash form, I'd get jugs of it. The Dermalogica body wash smells sort of like it though

I had high hopes, but I don't think it does much. Dried out my skin really badly.

If you are sensitive steer clear! made my skin sting like crazy and cause it to go very very dry for 3 days. Could not do anything to soothe my face.
Will be returning this and never buying again!

One of my all time favourite cleansers. Does not dry up the skin, and cleans well. Mild scent, and does not lather too much. Been using for years and still loving it!
