On me this is predominantly a grapefruit-citrus fragrance, perfect for summer since it's so light and refreshing. Then the darker notes start emerging: the pepper, lilac, and thankfully just a whiff of cardamom, which give what could have been a rather pedestrian refreshing scent its character and uniqueness. I'm not sure #2 is worth the hefty price tag, but it is one of the standouts in Damien Bash's impressive line.

There is a reason for using Lucifer in the names of these scents. Compelling little moral lessons. #2 is all about how the devil will tempt you and then not deliver. I *adore* pepper and cardamom. I can be lured into making an unsniffed purchase upon seeing that those two notes are in a fragrance. In this case, I can also be punished for such folly. This is a lovely lilac scent in which I can pick up also on some soft jasmine, green tea and papaya (very interesting). However, no pepper. No cardamom. I stand duly chastised.

This starts out on me with a sparkle of citrus which quickly fades into intense, Elysium-like, woods. After an hour, that faded, too, into a kind of sweet Shal Nur type soft woody musky oriental. It's really quite faint after only a couple of hours. I'm smelling the faintest hint of sandlewood and musk. Perhaps that's what Aedes means by "fragrance." It's very subtle.

I was intrigued--first by the name, then by the notes, so I purchased a sample. Initially, I was very impressed, but after wearing it for a day, I'm not so sure.
After about 2 hours, I could barely smell it, and I put it on my skin AND my clothes--quite disappointing, considering the hefty price tag ($90 for a 3.4 oz. bottle). It's a pleasant, light, everyday fragrance that would probably appeal to many, but I'm not sure it's ME. Maybe I'll come back to it later and update if anything changes.
Here's the description, lifted from aedes: "Lucifer No.2 has fresh notes of Grapefruit, Lilac, Black Pepper, Jasmin, Bergamot, Cardamon, Green Tea, Papaya..."
