I usually like to use a product a few times before giving out my opinion, but I was so shocked the one time I've used this that I kind of had to.

Keep in mind that I am using a sample mascara from my points from Sephora and it was the last tube, so it could have been sitting there for a while. I know that some people say the sample mascaras can be different than the full size tube.

I got this at Sephora and this wasn't anything that jumped out at me, but I wanted to try something different, but didn't have the money as I'm a mascara junkie. I finally put it on today. Upon opening it, I was kind of sad as it is a natural bristle brush, I feel that a lot of natural brushes are the same effect and clump the product and are disappointing, but I thought, what the hey. So I put it on and I could feel that it was a dryer formula, but I got the last tube at Sephora so I don't know how long it's been there. To me it looked like there was a lot of product on the brush, but I wasn't getting getting very much on my lashes. I usually put on my mascara by running the comb through about 5-10 times kind of slowly, sometimes wiggling it and I'm done. I also am a kind of girl that I will only do 1-2 coats max and if it takes more, I don't want it. I had to do a ton of strokes to get something going. However, no matter what I did, I didn't find any clumping, it was an extremely smooth application. Even though I wasn't getting much on, it's extremely buildable and I was actually getting pretty decent volume, but not a ton of length. I have long lashes (and I know I shouldn't complain....), but I had trouble getting product at the end of my lashes to let everyone know that they exist.

The thing that made me really want to review was I was so surprised about how it made my eyes feel. I have extremely dry eyes, I don't even wear contacts, and when I wore this today, my eyes felt ok. I noticed on Sephora.com that this said it was ophthalmologist approved, but I've seen it before and I'm like, whatever. When I usually wear mascara, my eyes will become extremely dry and sometimes my eyes will struggle so much to become hydrated that the bottom eyelid will flood and make me "tear up" for several hours. This however, didn't make me do that. As soon as it dried, I noticed how my eyes felt fine and like I wasn't any at all, like a normal day with my eye drops, or even better. It was really lightweight, no crunchiness. It never got any worse and my eyes felt like they could breathe.

As far as staying power goes, I somehow picked a good day to try this out. I am an assistant manager in a retail store and I work 12 hour days constantly on my feet. Also in my building, the sun shines through it and it gets extremely hot in my store. Today I was sweating like a pig and running everywhere like a chicken with it's head cut off and when I finally got to look in a mirror 9 hours into my shift, I was totally expecting smudges or flakes or something and I didn't have anything like that.

The effect of this mascara isn't anything special, it's definitely a very natural looking one, and especially for the price I would expect more. However, because of the smooth application, wearability, how wonderful it was on my eyes, I'm actually seriously considering purchasing this.

I'm going to try this out more, but as long as this hasn't be edited, it's how I stand currently.

EDIT: I somehow got super lucky that day. I do notice that when I put it on, it doesn't irritate my eyes like some others can. Definitely hypo-allergenic. However, the brush and application and look is nothing special in itself, super basic, kind of on the more natural side. I am on the fence about actually purchasing it. While it doesn't clump really, creamy and helps my sensitive, dry eyes, it's nothing amazing. I also don't find myself reaching for it. I am still keeping it at a three because it is a good product, but not spectacular for the price that it sells.

I've been wearing makeup for more than 35 years (yikes!) and this is the worst mascara I've ever used. It does look nice on the lashes--no clumping, nice length and fullness. BUT---it smears and flakes something awful. I tried to make it work, using less moisturizer, powdering more, but it always ended up smeared on both my brow bone and underneath my eyes. And then there were the flakes--little bits of fallout that would happen throughout the day. All day long, every time I looked in the mirror, I had to clean up more smears and flakes. Two thumbs down on this one.

I got a sample of this at Sephora and had little expectations since most mascara turn out to be duds eventually. This on the other hand is very natural and does not clump what so ever. I've used tons of mascaras, both high and low end, and this has to be the best one I've used thus far.

I thought this was very poor mascara. I got a free sample with an online purchase. It wasn't that dark and didn't do much for my lashes at all. Even for those days that I want a more natural look, there are better and much cheaper alternatives (like Almay One Coat Thickening). I'm disappointed because I thought extreme party mascara was nice and lash glamour extreme lengthening is amazing. I expected better from Bobbi Brown, a brand I am in love with.

I wear Bobbi Brown's Everything Mascara almost every day, and I love it. It darkens and volumizes my long and curly but blond lashes. After one or two coats, I'm ready to go, even if I don't do the rest of my makeup! The packaging, too, as with all of Bobbi's products, is fabulous. I love minimal, chic packaging, and it doesn't get much more elegant than Bobbi's mascara. The only drawback, for which I decided not to deduct a lipstick, is its price.

This mascara doesn't really do anything extraordinary for me. I do like how it thickens it really well, and doesn't smudge but that's just it. Not really worth the price, there are much better mascaras for much cheaper.

I had high hopes. The brush seemed awesome at what I want a mascara to do--just light volumizing and definition. Right after applying, that's exactly what I get. But in a few hours, my lashes lose their curl and then the lovely little smudgies come out... Not pretty. Pretty packaging for disappointing performance.

This doesn't do anything for me. No volume, no length, no outstanding definition. It just coats your lashes, basically. And it clumps.

Another surprise at the negative reviews. I actually like this mascara more than most I have used. It gives a natural look, doesn't clump and layers easily.

I too am surprised by the negative reviews. For an everyday mascara that doesn't smudge, doesn't get spidery or make my lashes look sharp at the tips, this is great. I have very long lashes but they;re thin and sparse and I really can look awkward with a lot of mascara. Most mascaras look dried out on my lashes and like I ran cement through them, not so with this. Retains a natural look and stays soft looking, no dried out look, no clumping, no ashy-black. Cliniques Naturally Glossy is a winner for natural. So is the BB. When you want darker, glossier lashes but none of the stiffness or sharpness, I'd go with either the BB or the Clinique. One lippie off for price though on BB, but *for what it's listed as* (natural, everyday mascara), this can't be beat.

Pros: Reasonable price, I guess. Waterproof. Was easily removed with a bi-phase remover.

Cons: Not humidity proof--lashes wilted immediately and would not recurl. Awkward brush: seemed too short, bristles too widely spaced. Formula went on clumpy wet, later flaked. Name is a laugh: This mascara was everything I was NOT looking for in a WP mascara.

I am shocked by the negative reviews. I think this is a great mascara! I often have problems with flaking but this mascara does not flake on me! I can touch my eyelashes (which are soft with this mascara btw) and no flakes! My lashes are pretty long already..but I have blonde lashes...so if I dont wear mascara..i get asked if I'm tired by everyone I know. So I need more volume than length, but this does give me extra length, which I love. I don't need a lash comb with this mascara either..it applies evenly and if I accidentally get it on my lid..it comes right off. This could very well be my HG..it has all the criteria I am looking for..and it conditions your lashes! I don't like the price tag so much, but I think it's definitely worth it. Comes in a sleek black tube..no fuss. And the black is a good solid black color..no gray to it. It takes some eye makeup remover to take off, but that is ok with me b/c if I cry or get caught in the rain, I know its not going to run down my face. This will be a staple in my makeup bag...and its the first bobbi brown product I have actually fallen in love with.

Based on the prior reviews this seems to be either 1) I hate this mascara or this 2) mascara is decent but not the HG. I am in Camp #2. I like this mascara but I don't love it or hate it. What I like about it.... 1) I have very short Asian lashes so I like lengthening mascaras. I think this does a decent job of lengthening my lashes and it is noticeable ON ME. 2) I think its a good everyday mascara for me because its not too heavy but not too light. I have tried putting several coats on but by the third coat its seems to have maxed out and placing more product will not increase its effectiveness. 3) It does not clump.

With that said, things I think are a minus 1) It is NOT a volumizing mascara and will NOT thicken your lashes. This mascara creates a more "natural" look I think rather than say a "party" or "dramatic" look. 2) It doesn't smudge horribly but at the end of the day I did see some remnants of the mascara on the bottom of my eye lids. 3) I think for women who already have medium-long lashes or thick lashes this will do nothing for them.

Overall, this mascara works as an everyday mascara for me. I think it does some things well but will NOT be the HG or best all-around mascara for most women.

Update: This mascara has started to smear/come off on my eyes at the end of the day. I have taken off 1 lippie because of lack of staying power.

I was really excited when I ordered this mascara. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. It clumps no matter how lightly you put it on and stays way too wet for too long. I'm not really crazy about the brush either. It just doesn't do what I expected. I have dark brown lashes which have gotten thinner with age and have tried a lot of other mascaras in every price range. I always end up back with NYX Doll Eyes Long Lash. I believe it to be the better buy - you just have to get the hang of the application with a drier formula. I cannot recommend the Bobbie Brown. Just not worth the bucks at all.

I was expecting that this mascara would be amazing because of it's price, but it's not. It's so clumpy and definitley not worth it's price. It makes my lashes look like I don't know how to put on mascara. I would not reccomend this...at all!

This mascara is great for a natural, everyday look; thus the name. It nurtures the lashes with vitamines and it does give decent volume and length.

I received this as a sample on one of my recent BB purchases and I'm shocked at the negative comments about this mascara because I LOVE it. I have very sparse, blonde lashes and mascara is just a pain in the butt for me. With this, it's fast and flawless! It's very thickening without being clumpy and very rich black, not gray-black. It doesn't flake at all and it makes my lashes look full and sexy! I don't even need my trusty lash comb with it. It applies perfectly every time. Even though I've always refused to spend my hard-earned money on high-end mascara, I am seriously considering purchasing a full-size tube of this when my sample runs dry!

I've been looking for my HG mascara...I've tried almay (yuck) maybelline define a lash (not too bad) rimmel sexy curve (me likely) and loreal voluminous (nice). Then I got the Best of BB collection on QVC which came with this mascara.

I have to admit that when I first used this mascara I wasn't thrilled. It seems very thick and goopy. But, after using it for a bit I really started to love this mascara.

Its necessary to clean the brush when you first start using this mascara. Once you know to do that, this is probably one of the best mascaras for adding volume to your lashes. The black is a great strong color, no flaking or clumpy lashes. I love it and will repurchase when I see a good deal on QVC.
