In the Imp : Dusty chocolate.

Wet : The vanilla is definitely there but instead of standing on its own its mixing with the chocolate to morph it into a more of a powdery scent. The hops are amping up like crazy in this! The pralines and hazelnut and easily distinguishable but like everything else in this they devote all of their power to mixing with Chocolate.

Dry : This smells exactly like someone took some perfectly dried hops and rolled them in powdered cocoa. Why hello there hops - I see you're quite fond of me. This is a very "dry" scent as well - meaning that everything in here is well cooked or dried by this point - no fresh nuts or still dribbling caramel or chocolate. This reminds me more of one of those big rich candy bars you can get that are so sugary you give up half way through eating them.

Over All : Gluttony really isn't my style. Too much hops - not enough buttercream. :'(

Big Bottle Worthy : No

I thought I was going to love this in the vial...smelled like Cinnabuns.

But on me its too strong....my boss said I smell like an IHOP or a big plate of pancakes and syrup with bacon on the side.

from the seven deadly sins series.

im so looking forward to revisiting this one after a string of challenging stinkers. lets hope its as tasty this time around. sometimes a simple foody scent really does it for me.

notes: "Thick, sugared and bloated with sweetness. Dark chocolate, vanilla, buttercream, and hops with pralines, hazelnut, toffee and caramel."

in the vial: hot buttered rum, spiced maple, buttery, sticky baked goodness.

wet on skin: sticky toffee pudding! thats it! just....ahhhh. cinnamon, nutmeg, buttery-something-or-other, just pure heaven. it all goes together perfectly well, and not one thing sticks out above the others. a lovely and comforting blend.

dry down: this is definitely a gourmand scent. its not your average two a penny baked good smell. its complex and layered. i swear i even smell toasted nuts for a time. then it veers more into sophisticated maple/fenugreek/cardamom territory. it conjures comforting images and provides a sense of calm. if you like the scent but wouldnt be caught dead smelling like food, it might be worth it to get this just so you can dab a bit on the back of your hand and inhale it to destress! i cant say enough good things about this one.

verdict: i wore this to work to see what other people thought of such a specific and foody smell, (i work with a bunch of teenaged boys) and for hours, they wondered aloud exactly what smelled like cookies or hot chocolate. one seemed chagrined when he finally figured out that i was the source of the smell, and asked whether i had put on hot chocolate lotion. sigh.

i imagine nearly everony liking this to some degree, but a word of warning - if foody rarely works for you, this will either make you a convert or make you completely ill. it might have the tendency to smell like indian food. (which i love!)

Scent description: Thick, sugared and bloated with sweetness. Dark chocolate, vanilla, buttercream, and hops with pralines, hazelnut, toffee and caramel.

This does not really work on me at all. From wet to drydown, it smells the same - burnt sweet butter with a little bit of "fake" vanilla (like in cheap room scents). I only dabbed a drop on and it is really quite overpowering - I imagine if I had put on more I would be suffering a headache by now. DH said that I smelled like burning incense sticks

In Vial :smells like vanilla sugar cookie or if your familiar with yankee Candles, exactly like 'christmas cookie'.

Wet: Still vanilla cookie but with a hint of gingerbread.

Drydown: Foody, sweet but not too sweet. Smells like vanilla baked good with just a touch of gingerbread spice.

Definitely a "burnt"-something type smell. Not sugar, since I love the smell of burnt sugar a la Sugar Skull, but something really, really unpleasant burning. And coated in a layer of butter. No.

Love love LOVE this scent!
Very foody, and if you're into sweet scents like Angel, Pink Sugar, etc you'll probably like this.
Staying power seemed to be good too, and i can see the imp i have of this will last a while!

I love Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, but this is straight buttery butter and burnt coffee with a little more butter melted in it.

In the imp it's a sweet, heavy, sugary buttercream dessert candle type scent. Right up my alley, as I love foody scents. On the skin it mellows out considerably, to a more vanilla brown sugar rum sort of scent... But, after a good 10 minutes it morphs into... Eucalyptus?! This oil does weird things on my skin. It's gorgeous for the first 10 minutes, and then goes weird. but goes back to wonderful within the next 30. I wonder if anyone else gets the eucalyptus phase in this one...

Thick, sugared and bloated with sweetness. Dark chocolate, vanilla, buttercream, and hops with pralines, hazelnut, toffee and caramel.

At first, I couldn't smell the chocolate at all. I was pretty dissapointed. All I could smell was migraine inducing buttercream and pralines (I thought it was like a candied rum - but still unlike grog)
I wasn't going to put it on my skin, because I thought I would get a headache, but I know that these fragrance can drastically change on the skin, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse.

Once it mellowed out on the skin the scent became very well balanced and my dark chocolate emerged! This might be the chocolate scent that I've been looking for all this time! I highly recommend it if you are into foody scents

Gluttony is very foody, as the description lets you know up front. I'm smelling sugar cookies, gingerbread cookies, and maybe snickerdoodles. It's all about baking! This is something I'd very much enjoy in a candle or home fragrance oil form, but not to wear. It is making me hungry, though.....

This scent is just absolutely wrong for me. While on paper it sounds nice, it just turns my stomach. Worse, it spilled on all my other imps ears and now I can smell only this scent when I open the box they're in. Small wonder I haven't used them in a while. This is one powerful dark smelling foody scent (think dark chocolate, hazelnuts, etc) and while it's not too sweet it is incredibly potent.

The hazelnuts had a bad effect with my chemistry and turned to rotten paenuts. It was a shame as I usually love sweet scents.

Gluttony is very sweet and heavy as aforementioned. On me, Gluttony smells like fake chocolate/Tootsie rolls with a whiff of orange, and something about it tickles my nose and makes me want to sneeze! However, I can see why others would like this fragrance--again, it's very sweet and heavy, and on me at least, its staying power was also very strong--even after I tried to wipe it off with rubbing alcohol, it persisted overnight and into the next day.

I find Gluttony to be overpowering, but others might revel in this fragrance. I won't be repurchasing.

This is just not a good scent for me. As the name suggests, it's a very, very sweet and heavy scent. It smells primarily of butter to me, but also with hints of hazelnut and caramel. This is much like a very sweet dessert, but it was just too heavy for me.

Wow, this is very foody. Smells like roasted coffee, hazelnuts and dark chocolate to me. Very strong and unique. I agree with some of the others about it being better in a candle or as a room fragrance. This is really rich and thick smelling, so I don't want the scent on me. However, this is very beautiful in a foody-scented way.

I can smell hazelnuts and chocolate in this and something in the background, maybe espresso and brown sugar? It is sweet yet not as sweet as some of the foody type scents out there. This is a fragrance I would wear on the weekends when I am lounging about. It is sweet without being too sweet, yet not something I would wear to the office or when I am out on the town. A nice lounging or PMS type fragrance.

When I first got an imp of this one, I smelled it and it was really nice... 'rich' is the best way i can describe it. I put a small dab on my wrist and it still smelled good for quite a while.

A little bit later, however, I put some behind my ears and *something* happened. I went to see a movie just after this, and the entire time, something I could smell made me feel sick to my stomach. I'm not quite sure what it is, but now whenever I sniff the imp, that same thing jumps out and i feel queezy remembering how ill it made me feel.

It was a sad, sad day.

PLEASE read rnornan's review below it is a perfect description. I can't bear to open it again. Pure chocolate buttery madness. Gluttony is a perfect name. I now need a cholesterol test because of it.
