Decent product overall, but this color isn't for me. Medea is described as "sheer cinnamon", which shows up as a warm sheer brick color on my lips. I personally prefer nude pinks and blue-based reds, so I wouldn't repurchase this particular shade but would look into other lip lacquers. The formula of this lacquer is long-lasting and pigmented but the pot means I would probably only apply it when I have a lip brush handy (or clean hands/fingers).

Best lip gloss I have ever used - for lasting power and texture - everything else I have tried in the past has disappeared from my lips very quickly... Some complain about the smell, but I do not find it offensive, and I don't mind the little round pot, as I can see how much product I actually have. On me (NC20, with pigmented lips) this looks like a warm cinnamon red, similar to the discontinued MAC Gitane lipgloss. What I love about it is that is that you can control the intensity by layering it - one coat and you get a nice glossy cinnamon shade, two or more and you get a very wearable brown red. My lipgloss of choice when I wear Torrid blush - would definitely buy again!

On me, this turns into a brick orange that is very warm. It goes well with my skin tone, but it is personally not a color I like. I also noticed that this really didn't have any shine to it* (*this might be because I have the lip lacquer palette, so I suggest definitely trying it on in the store because mine might be a special case). This is my least favorite Nars lip lacquer. I won't not wear it, but I won't purchase it either.

I'm pale with dark brown hair, and this lip lacquer gives me perfect red lips for the winter. I love that it's not shiny (like a typical lip gloss), and it leaves some color (like a stain) even after I eat. The packaging is a bit uncomfortable; I wish the opening was bigger. Anyway, I love it, love it, and it was worth the crazy $23 it cost me at Sephora!

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. When I tried this on at the Nars counter it looked like a completely different color on my lips than it did in the jar. Looking at it in the jar it's a medium cinnamon red color, on my lips, which have alot of red pigment, it turns a neutral cinnamon. All the red seems to blend in with my natural lip color. If you have very little pigmentation in your lips, you'll probably see more red and this gloss will look quite dark. I highly recommend this product and would repurchase.

I bought this last year and the packaging kept me from making it much of a 'go to' lippie, but I just pulled it out today and remember now how great a color it is. It's worth the hassle of dealing with a pot gloss. I have fair to medium skin, dark brown hair and eyes, and this gives me just the right color I'd like without being a dramatic red. It is a very wearable red that doesn't turn brown, orange or pink/purple. Wears nicely. If it would just come in a tube, I'd be a lifelong purchaser!

I love this shade, which Nars describes as a cinnamon-red. I'm relatively fair, with reddish-brown hair and blue eyes, and this is a great shade for me. I don't agree with others who are calling it a "red" as it's definitely a wine-y shade in the pot and on the lips. I like it because it doesn't go towards brown, but neither is is pinkish-purple. It has a great texture, and isn't super-glossy or sticky (it's definitely not MAC Lipglass). It looks natural, goes on sheer, but has buildable color if you want to layer it on. The fact that it's in a pot makes it a bit less convenient, but the shade and texture are worth a little inconvenience. It also lasts longer than many other glosses, and really does seem to moisturize my lips.

Agree with reviewer below. I tried this on in the store and it looked OK, but in broad daylight, it clashes with my olive and slightly yellow medium skin. Turns berry/pinkish reddish. Hate reddish berries.

Medea is a nice cinnamony-red with gold shimmer. It can go on sheer but I add on a little bit more since it's one of the only reds I can pass off. I thought it would be too warm for me but it goes on real nice. The only two things I have an issue with are the price tag and the plastic scent. Other than that, I love NARS' lacquers. The texture and lasting power makes me want to buy the whole collection!

The only red I can wear! I suppose that means it's warm-toned (I'm around MAC C40, NC42, LSF 6.5). I have tried so many reds and they all make me look like a clown, this one is hands down the best. It does smell a bit plasticky, and I am sensitive to smells, but the smell dies down soon after application. Comes in a pot, which I prefer to a tube. I love the texture, stays put longer than most glosses, yet doesn't feel like you have Elmer's Glue on your lips. Gives a gloss, but not a high-shellac car wax shine - perfect for full lips.

This is my perfect red. It has a nice consistency that is thicker than gloss but still has it's shine. It lasts more like a lipstick though. It has a slight plastic smell but I get over it quickly after application. I like to line my lips with Philosphy's lip pencil in Creation then apply the lacquer. This is a definite repurchase.

Very nice texture - smooth and silky on lips. Stays on fairly well (for a gloss). Color is a gentle reddish nude with soft shine - NOT super-shiny like most glosses. Would look great on anyone, anywhere, anytime. Doesn't smell that great (like plastic) but that doesn't bother me much. Also, you need a lip brush to apply this, which makes it less portable. But overall, I'd definitely buy it again!!

I can't figure out why this one isn't more popular. It's a sheer cinnamon wash with just a hint of brown to tone it down. It goes with almost any look and it's a staple for me.

Another FABULOUS Nars Lip Lacquer! Medea is a cinnamony shade with the slightest shimmer to it! I was afraid when I bought this that it would be too warm for my skin, but it looks lovely! Goes on sheer, but can be built up for a stronger color. Would certainly buy again.

Total HG product. It's the only lacquer gloss that's reddish, yet not cool toned. If you like Zanzibar l/s then this would be a good one to try! It lasts a long time, it's not sticky, and of course the color is just lovely. The only minor issue is the pot packaging (I would prefer a wand.)

Expensive but worth it -especially this color. Perfect warm berry shade one of a kind that can go from a natural deep rose or layer to a rich berry/wine color.
expensive but the pot seems to last longer than wand type gloss.
My HG wine-berry shade, very happy with this choice.

nars lip lacquers are my absolute favorite glosses. i've never been brave enough to sport red lips, but i've always wanted to because it looks so glamourous. true reds don't suit my coloring (mac nc35/armani lsf 6.5/laura mercier tm almond) and bold reds scare me. when i found medea, however, i was ecstatic. it's a sultry cinnamon red stain with a slight gloss. it's not overwhelming and has a quality of understated elegance. there is a bit of an odd scent (plasticky), so if you're sensitive to the slightest smell, you might want to try it out first before you "add to basket." the texture is a bit tacky, but it's nothing a little lip balm before application won't fix. the staying power is impressive. this is definitely for people who want the appeal of sexy reddish lips without any of the fear factor.

This is a beautiful berry with a little tiny bit of sparkle. It makes my lips look naturally stained. I love the way it makes me feel and look feminine.

I only gave it 4 lippies because the smell is awful! Its smells like plastic. I have never smelled something so gross for lips and since its right under your nose eeww! Its just so strong! With that said, the smell does go away after awhile or maybe I just got used to it. The color is wonderful! Its like a mix between benefits benetint and mac clear gloss. This is shinny, the consistency is much thicker than benefit and its much more pigmented. Its thick but not as thick as Macs clear gloss. Its a nice medium sheer deep red on me. overall I can get over the smell and would repurchase. I got a deal on ebay and paid less that $10! I will definetly try their other colors.

I am quickly becoming a fan of NARS lip lacquers. They are sticky but not too sticky and have nice pigmentation, something I find most glosses lack. Medea is a beautiful *slightly* shimmery red-brown that really looks natural on. It is easy to apply and gives that nice stained look to the lips. I can't wait to try more of these! Oh, there is a slightly plasticky-type scent at first but it goes away after a little while. I have deducted one lipstick for that.
