I got this for NZD$50 for my school ball. I loves how it lengthened my lashes the only problems I had was after about 6 hours it would flake and drop black under my eyelids. It clumped a bit but nothing an eyelash comb couldn't fix with a little work. Unfortunately I couldn't find it easily around. Was my HG till I found an estee lauder mascara I liked.

I really like L'Oreal mascaras. This one is no exepsion. It's even my favourite! Makes my lashes long and full, doesnt leave dark circles under my eyes. And the price is OK.
But, my lashes are rather long by nature, so I dont know if people with short lashes will find it so usefull as me...

Phenomenal. Long-lasting, curling, jet-black, voluminising. Opened up my eyes.
What else can one hope for?

I absolutely LOVED this mascara - I know it hasn't gotten the most fantastic reviews, but for some reason it consistently worked wonders on my eyelashes. I have jet black, fairly long eyelashes, but they are quite fine and straight. It added so much volume, curl and fullness, and made my eyes look really dramatic. It never went clumpy, spidery or sticky... it was just great! Two of my friends (one who has very long, thick but very blonde eyelashes, the other who has shorter) also loved this product and swore by it. Sadly, I haven't been able to find it anywhere over the past 2 years or so! Does anyone know if it has been discontinued? Or am I just not looking hard enough? My one very small complaint with it was that it could sometimes be a teeny bit flaky... but I know nothing's perfect!....... Ok just read some of the reviews below, and noticed that it IS discontinued! NOOOO! :(

I got this on sale for 4.99. Thank goodness I paid half price. It clumps worse than any other mascara - ever. But the rich, deep black shade of 'blackest black' is so lovely. Too bad. Oh, and if you try and wash it off with regular cleanser and not get every bit off with makeup remover, you have major raccoon eyes in the morning that are hard to wipe off!

THIS IS MY FAVORITE MASCARA SO FAR. AND I'VE BEEN WEARING MAKE UP FOR 15 YEARS, AT THE AGE OF 12. I BUY THIS AT BIG LOTS FOR $3, THEY STILL HAVE IT IN STOCK IF IT'S TRUE THEY DISCONTINUED IT THEN I HAFTA STOCK UP WHILE I CAN. I RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE. I'VE TRIED EVERY BRAND OUT THERE & LOREAL IS BY FAR THE BEST.

Another crappy mascara, IMO. Very dry formula, did NOTHING for my lashes. I hate mascaras that just apply tiny flakes to the ends of my lashes and do nothing else. No volume, no thickness, no length, no shiny color= Lash Intensifique. If the rumor is true that this is discontinued... HOORAY! Good judgement call by the marketing dept. at L'Oreal. :oP

Had been using Lancome Hypnose mascara but at £17 it's pretty expensive and didn't do much. As L'Oreal is part of Lancome I decided to give one of their mascaras a go. This mascara is great! My sister even commented that she could tell I had mascara on, which is amazing because I always get told to wear it even though I am!This is great and inexpensive but I wish the tip of the brush was slightly finer so I could get to the lashes in the outer corner of my eye without making a clumpy mess.

This review may be inaccurate because I used this mascara several several years ago. From my memory, Intensifique thickened lashes in a natural-looking way. I used this mascara several several years ago and I remember switching back to Loreal Voluminous. I think it was because at the time, I preferred more dramatic and thicker lashes and I also didn't like applying layers and layers of mascara because it took up time in the morning. I would probably buy/try it again if it wasn't discontinued.

This product is too clumpy for me. It is useable if I wipe the mascara wand with a tissue before using but that is more work than I expect from my mascara. Will not repurchase.

Not the best mascara I've tried but it's pretty good. Seems like a poor-man's Hypnose though- LOL! Considering how much more expensive most d/s mascaras are in australia compared with other places there's not enough of a significant difference between the cost of this and alot of higher end mascaras to warrant me buying this for its bang-for-the-buck value:)

I found this at Big Lots recently. I bought two but made a mistake and bought 1 of the wrong color. So I used the black and swapped the brown black. I liked the "double comb brush". This did give volume/thickness and a bit of length. It's ok, but not the best mascara I've ever tried. I won't buy again because it's discontinued and the ones i find in the future might be expired, but I won't throw away the one I have. i will wear it for daytime when I don't need dramatic lashes.

At first this provided good thickness, length, curl and separations. It produced a pretty fan-like effect and it didn't smudge at all. After a month it got clumpy, but mascaras are supposed to be replaced frequently anyway.

I bought this one because I like the look of it. It really volumized my lashes a lot but it's too clumpy. Won't buy again.

I think Intensifique is an excellent mascara and I was very disappointed when it was discontinued. I drove all over the place to CVS and Rite Aid drugstores to buy what was left on the shelves. I also called Customer Service at L'Oreal and I was told that it was a company decision (like they always say). The customer doesn't seem to count anymore. I think they should keep a product even if only 100 people in the world are still buying it. I haven't bought many mascaras at the larger department stores such as Macy's and Filene's that carry the major cosmetic lines like Estee Lauder, Lancome, Clinique, Shiseido, Elizabeth Arden, Origins, Chanel, Christian Dior, Clarins, Prescriptives, etc. as they are over 50 miles from my home. It makes it more difficult to return something when you have to drive so far. They're also more expensive. Many years ago, I used a mascara called "Long 'n Lush" - I think it was from Cover Girl or Maybelline (I don't really remember because it was so long ago). I used it for many years. I do remember that it was in a burgundy colored tube. I'll use something for fifty years as long as I like it. It's so aggravating trying to look for something else.
Update (08/02/05): I've been trying many of the mascaras at Rite Aid because I can return any makeup I'm not happy with so I've sampled mascaras from Cover Girl, Maybelline, Max Factor and of course L'Oreal but I still can't seem to find one I'm wild about that gives me both long and lush lashes like the Lash Intensifique. Someone commented in a thread that I started in the JREF (James Randi Educational Foundation) discussion forums that it might not be so much the mascara but the application brush. It was a good point and she suggested that if you're happy with a particular brush, keep it and try using it with another mascara and see what happens. The name of the thread is "MakeupAlley" if you're interested in taking a peek over there. http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=59853. She also added that you should be sure to keep it clean as it might not fit on another mascara and it will have to be stored separately. I still have a very minimal amount of Lash Intensifique mascara and I think I will try using the brush with one of the other mascaras that I recently purchased. My lashes seem to look much longer with the Lash Intensifique. You'll notice the length of your lashes much more from a side view in the mirror. We girls like to look at ourselves from all angles, don't we? "Woman, vanity is thy name."

This is an OK mascara, bit similar to Lancome Magnificils but cheaper. I need to put on two layers but that's ok. Would buy it again.

This is an amazing mascara! Undoubtedly the best I've tried, and it beats all the high-end mascaras I used to use. I have it in waterproof black - it's a very nice jet black which is amazingly good at lengthening my lashes (don't know about volume), and it can actually hold the curl from my shiseido curler. Only thing I don't like: it smells slightly like nail polish remover. However, that's just a minor gripe. The best thing about this mascara is that it doesn't irritate my eyes (I wear contacts) and won't clump when applied lightly.
