I actually enrolled here just to review this product. I wouldn't say I have oily skin but if I use cream based moisturizer I get very oily and break out. I only use Gel based products. Because I'm in my mid thirties I've been experimenting with different products for anti aging. I've used Hydrafresh for normal to oily for about 7 years now. It gives me lasting moisture without being heavy or oily. It's lightweight and offers spf 15 protection. It is better than every high end brand I've tried and it's far less expensive. A jar lasts me months.
I love this product and always go back to it after trying other products its fantastic.

I found this moisturizer very oily and very creamy. I only used this in winter at night time when my skin was very dry. It's not a very a good makeup base.

This moisturized well and felt great going onto my skin, but it didn't keep me matte, and it broke me out. I got those skin colored bumps along my chin and jaw line from using this. I wont repurchase and I'm still continuing my search for my perfect daily moisturizer!

For some strange reason, I can't find my daily moisturizer so easily in my country (I live in Argentina and I'm talking about Neutrogena Ultra Light for oily skin). That's why I needed to try a new moisturizer. I had heard some good opinions about L'oreal Hydrafresh, specially due to its gel/cream texture which seems to be really convenient for oily skin (mainly during the summer).
At the beginning, I couldn't find the version for oily skin. So I decided to try Hydrafresh for dry or sensitive skin (the pink one). In fact, my skin is very sensitive. I have to admit the formula did work on me and I left my review of it.
However, I was decided to keep looking for the version for oily skin. And I found it. L'oreal Hydrafresh for normal to combination skin (the green one) is pretty similar to the version for dry/sensitive skin but even better.
The gel/cream texture is even lighter and softer. The smell is even nicer. It has exactly the texture I was looking for. It's ultra light, definitely. I needed something that my skin can absorb quickly and the green formula is absorbed faster than the pink one. It's ideal for the summertime time and its humid days. When you apply it, you feel a fresh sensation on your skin. Your face feels smooth, luminous and even toned. It doesn't look greasy or shiny at all. You don't need lot of product to cover your face and neck because the gel/cream texture melts on your skin easily and softly.
Its smell is stronger than the pink version, but it's very nice in my opinion. A frutal, citric and not invasive fragrance. Definitely, it's a great moisturizer for my skin type. I'm planning to keep using it for a long time and in case I can't find the green one easily, I can get the pink one because it works on me too. No one of them has caused me skin troubles. Both formulas are dermatologically tested.
Depending on your skin, you can use the green one during spring/summer and the pink one during fall/winter.
The product has just one disadvantage: it hasn't SPF. If this cream had SPF, it would be a perfect moisturizer. I've read there is a version of Hydrafresh for normal to combination skin with SPF but unfortunately it's not available in my country. I must admit Hydrafresh is a basic moisturizer (no SPF; no anti aging) but it's a very good one.

I love the cooling sensation, but that's about it. It has no SPF so I have to use a separate one. It claims to be hydrating and mattifying, but does not deliver. Moisturizing power is so-so. I had dry patches on my skin and I applied this moisturizer on. The next day, I woke up to painful zits. Will never repurchase!

it doesn't make an oily skin look mat,but it moisturise ,well its a moisturizer! but a very boring one, nothing special just some feel of green and false freshness,it doesn;t fresh your skin, maybe the alcohol would make your skin hydrated, its a pity, the only good point is somehow the texure but melted butter also has a good texure

It does keep your skin matte, but also dries it out. My skin (esp dry cheek area) feels SO dry when I put it on....awful :( My skin is also sensitive, and the perfume in this doesn't help. Maybe for really oily girls with not too sensitive skin this might be okay...but most products that control oil will dry your skin out like this one.

I love this product. I've been using it for 4 years (or more?) as a moisturizer and base for my foundation. I have combination skin, and I break out around the T-zone - but my skin just loves this. I bought this because its texture and effect is like Clinique's Moisture Surge, but for much less $.
Highlights:
-non-greasy
-absorbs quickly
-smell is light citrus - very pleasant
-you don't need a lot of it, so it lasts a long time
-primes skin with thin barrier (not really a film" as other reviewers call it) that evens out skin texture for a good foundation base.
Lowlights:
-may not moisturize enough if you live somewhere with dry, harsh winters (like Canada's North or East)

Possibly the best moisturizer I've ever tried and I tried quite a few, most of them at five times the cost of this one. It clears my acne prone skin! And it also ha a primer effect wich make my mineral foundation from laura mercier stay put all day, I usually need like two touch ups. But with this my skin looks great all day. I LOVE it. I wouldn't recommened it for dry skin but for oilier, acne prone skin it works wonders!!! True bargain.

I really don't get all the hate for this product, it's probably my favourite moisturizer ever. The big selling point for me is that it's awesome as a base for foundation. I use EL Double Wear which is very thick and emphasizes uneven skin so I need something to create a smooth base. Hydrafresh does just that. As many mentioned it leaves a film on your face and that reacts amazingly well with foundation and makes it SO easy to blend. All my other moisturizers just disappear into my skin and don't help with blending if I don't slather them on.
I have combo skin and Hydrafresh keeps me well moisturised. The film it leaves on my face keeps my skin from cracking in the cold and feeling tight. I guess it must be packed with silicones but it doesn't damage my skin in any way.
Also it never made me greasy and believe me I've tried gazillions of moisturisers to keep my makeup from sliding off. Hydrafresh seems to create a barrier between my skin and makeup, kind of like a primer, and it cuts down on the oilies very nicely.
Overall, definitely recommended! It's affordable, smells good and is incredibly good under makeup. One minor gripe of mine is that it stings sensitive areas of my skin for a few seconds if I slather on too much. Despite this I surely will repurchase until I find something better.

I bought this in a Walmart for about 12 canadian dollars. When I first opened the jar I did not like the smell at all and was worried about the so-called citrus scent but it actually smelled really nice when i massaged it into my face.
It is 99% oil free, has a light gel-creme texture that is light and refreshing on the skin and has spf15. I find a tiny dab of my finger into the jar is enough for my entire face and makes for a perfect base for my studio fix fluid foundation.
Especially in the summer months I feel that my foundation tugs and accentuates uneven skin texture. I just take a dab of this gel and mix it in with a half pump of my foundation and it makes for an effective tinted moisturizer with a bit more coverage.
So far I like it and its reaction to my skin especially in these warmer months...I might try Yves Rocher's Calmille melting face gel and a stronger face sunblock separately once the jar runs out though just to see my options.
EDIT: The culprit to my uncontrollable breakouts. Stopped using this and my skin went back to normal before this product. Now I use Yves Rocher's Calmille gel moisturizer- superior product and results for less money.

I really want to throw this out, but it seems like such a waste. I love the smell and the packaging of this product, but it doesn't moisturize AT ALL. It feels like I have put on a thin clay mask after I apply it.
In order to make my skin feel good after applying Hydrafresh, I have to put another moisturizer on over top of it. What a waste.
Me and my somewhat oily skin do not recommend this product.

I like the smell of this product but it didn't seem to absorb into my skin. Rather, it seemed to almost dry on top of my skin, forming a shell on my skin that felt like I had a mask on. Also, my skin felt tingly/burny when I put it on. I really wanted to like this product because the scent was very fresh and the product itself is pretty and light. However, I just don't think it's for me.

I bought the newer version of this that comes in a white opaque jar and has spf 15. It cost me $18 CAD at shoppers drug mart for 70ml.
I've used biothems' and lancomes' version of this stuff and both made me and my sisters break out. But i was happy that this one didn't.
It's very very light and goes on really smoothly. It doesn't absorb right away and leaves a very thin sticky film on your face which makes you look a little bit shiny (not greasy.. big difference) so i don't use this moisturizer in the day (unless i'm wearing foundation). I put this on my face and neck before i go to bed and wake up in the morning with really smooth skin! I've been using it for 2 months now and i've noticed a dramatic difference in my skintone... SO EVEN! on top of that, it makes my face less oily so i don't have to use so much of my clean and clear oil absorbing sheets. (save $$$)
I would love this product even more if it left a satin finish like my aveeno clear complexion moisturizer (the one i use in the morning) but i guess most gel-creme products are like that. and i also wish it came in a pumping tube! I hate how bacteria can easily inhabit the jab!
Use this in the summer as it is not moisturizing enough for colder seasons. I've never tried the pink one (for dry skin) but since people are recommending that for the winter, im going to give it a try cuz i love this one!
I also think the spf is useless in this because the layer is way too thin and it's only spf 15. put some spf 30 on top of this before heading out in the sun. thats what i do.

it's in a gel form, green in colour. :)
moisturizes the skin nicely, for my kind of skin, combination of normal to slightly dry on the cheeks and oily on the T-zone.
light scent, nothing too irritating. after applying, it doesn't leave a sticky film. :D downside is that this has got no spf >_<
going to go for my 2nd jar. once finish, might try something else. i get bored easily. hehe.

i love this moisturizer. i love the smell and the fact that it's very light. I have to say though that i use this only in spring and summer. the other thing is that my skin is actually normal to dry.. one time they ran out of the normal to dry skin one and so i bought this one. it absorbed really quickly and my skin felt moisturized the whole day! however i wouldn't use thos product during the winter since it doesn't provide enough moisture.

I love this moisturiser! It's so lightweight and easily absorbed by the skin. I don't find that it sits on my skin and makes it greasy. It's very cheap and costs $17.90 only in Singapore. I use this in conjunction with the toner.
What I do is, I take a bit and gently pat it into my skin using my fingertips all over the face, then I gently press my face with my palms and viola, no greasy feeling, face is very moisturise, face feels soft and smooth and i can see my face getting clearer.

Oh, this stuff is so not good. It doesn't really moisturize, it only sits on top of your face, it smells like lemon ice cream and feels cool on touch, the consistency is light, so I thought this would be a light and refreshing cream, well, yeah, it is light, but not really refreshing. My skin would feel really dry after 2 hours of applying this stuff, and now, I think I may be allergic to it, because it's given me a rash on my cheeks. I tried to apply this yesterday, rash and all, and I felt as if my skin was being burned. The rash is much worst today, all my face hurts now. I'm gonna need to go to a derm now. I would never repurchase this, and certainly never recommend it to anyone.

This is totally unfabulous. It's down right awful! It does absolutely nothing. Doesn't even sink in -- just stays on the surface, makes your face look extra shiny and the smell isn't the greatest. I wanted to like this because it was a creme and had spf in it but there is honestly nothing likeable about it. I definately would not recommend this at all. In fact, I'm thinking of chucking it out all together, won't give it away because its so horrible I wouldn't want anyone that I know using it!
Well, my brother ended up taking off my hands and he really liked it but it honestly didn't do anything for his face.
