For all I know, this might be an overpriced stick of food coloring. I have Inspire, which is a generic too-bright red. The smell is awful, the packaging leaks, and the watery stain dries and wears unevenly. I can't think of any reason to buy this stain.

Got this at a T.J. Maxx, of course, and while it's worth the little bit I paid for it, I would not buy it at full price (or even the reduced price, come to think of it). It is a marker-style lip pen that sort of stains your lips a pretty peachy-red. I say, "sort of" because it doesn't last super-duper long and it takes a few layers for this to show up on my pigmented lips as a color (rather than a slight deepening of my natural lip color). The texture is watery and gel-like at the same time, kind of aloe vera, so it takes a little bit of time to dry thoroughly. The taste is odd--sort of herbal but not in a nice way. I disliked the sponge-tip applicator as well, for fussiness reasons (I just don't like sponge tips--they look messy).

Ok. The first time I tried this on bare lips and it was awful. It stained unevenly, leaving red blotches on my lips. The second time, I used a balm underneath, and it stained more evenly. STill not as good as my mark kissink and tattoo kiss pens, but more of what I expect from a lip stain. Heat is a red red color, with a twisty top that pushes the stain out of a doe foot applicator. Ok for a lip stain, but not holy grail. Lasting power was like 6 hours with this.

Blech. This stuff smells weird, goes on unevenly, and dries out my lips like crazy! I have never been a fan of lip stains and this reminds me why. No wonder this company went out of business.

Not the best made product, but no one makes a color like flattering, which is warm enough that i don't get the fuscia lip look those of us w/ pigmeneted lip tend to get. but the packaging SUCKS! probably the worst packaged items i've ever come across. i even have it standing up b/c of it's tendency to leave out of the felt top, and it STILL leaks, wtf? it defies gravity. but guess what. i STILL would have to buy it again b/c finally i can have strawberry lucious lips like everyone else can. Sticky, yes, i don't mind it. smelly? haven't noticed. I almost would give it a 3 if any other company made a color for us olive or yellow girls. but alas. so it gets a 3 b/c of the thoughtful color. I wear it over l/s, under l/s, under l/g. i love this color. w/ guerlain passion rouge l/g over it, it's the sexiest lip look ever. rediculous. :)

I like the orangey-red stain color of Valkrei, but it kinda has a weird smell. I assume thats the herbal aromatherapy, but it smells kinda funky. oh well.

This product is a little pricey but I really like the color it delivers on my deep skintone. I will use it until I find a cheaper one that looks just a good.

I thought this was a great stain in terms of staying power, the only problem was that I used up half the tube in one week! That adds up to $8.00 per week to have nicely stained lips... thanks but I will stick with stains that I only have to repurchase once every three months...

I'm on a quest to try every type of stain out there. So fa this one is vying for the the crappiest slot. Though a stain in the strictest sense as in it wears away to stain your lips (clumped in the middle & around edges as noted by others)it intially applies itself like a "lip gel". Since it actually sits on your lips not immediately staining them it feels strange and sticky and clumps funny. It doesn't mix well with other stains (or anything else for that matter). I believe this is the reason for the eventual peculiar stain pattern as it does not seep in immediately nor does it adhere well like a lipstick or gloss therefore it moves and clumps and by the time you've worn it away it's migrated to the edges and settled into the less smooth part of your lips (center). A stain shouldn't be a sticky lip gel that wears away quickly leaving pigment on your lips.

This is really strange stuff. The packaging really calls attention to how little product there is compared to the size of the tube, it takes lots of clicks to get the stain started up into the sponge tip applicator. I got this in 'flattering' from sephora.com. The color looks like a deep red in the tube but goes on a light, orangey red, not the greatest color. Finally, I applied it several times as evenly as possible over my lips but the color clung very unevenly, it only showed up on the inside rim so that I looked like I just ate a cherry popsicle. I can't get the color even at all! Will return this immediately.

This is a great concept...but I truly don't care for the stain itself...(I'm revising my original review). I have this in nuturing- which looks kind of yellow orange on my lips. The applicator is great, but there is not much product for the price. So sad, I looked forward to trying this so much..hopefully other companies will try this applicator type.
