One of my all time favorite nail polishes ever! It's a very sheer pink color. I've worn this nail polish to work and received compliments! It also looks really good on the toes. I think this color makes my nails look shiny and healthy. The only con would be that if you want the pink to show on your nails then you have to do two or three coats. I highly recommend it.

Although I don't usually spend $10.00 on a bottle of nail polish, this one I got as a gift, and it has quickly become my favourite, go-to polish.
There is something about a pale pink polish that just makes nails look healthier well taken care of. Additionally, it can compliment any look. I actually wore this one to my prom a few years ago.
It goes on smoothly, and is sheer enough so that if it chips, after a few days, it isn't a total eye sore. I absolutely reccomend, everyone needs a basic shade like this one (so paying a little extra isn't a bad thing).

It was not what I was expecting. I was looking for a light pink, maybe baby pink color. I tried out a lot of them and found all streaky and they didn't apply well. Sugar Daddy was milky looking on swatches, and it looked like with layers it would do. It applies really well, shines nicely, and has lasted me without chippy so far. However, even with several layers it is neither milky, nor pink. It looks like clear top coat, which is terribly disappointing. Hoping to make it work but I might go get one of the actual pink colors and use Sugar Daddy to even them out a bit after application.

I like it. It's sheer, it's true, but if I put 2 coats it looks great, kind of milky. It's great for french manicures and it lasts a long time. I always use a top coat and it stays on my nails for a week. And I wash dishes and all, however, it's still there.

A nice neutral color: your own nails but better kind of thing. I would describe it milky nude. Quite transparent which is acceptable for this type of color. Would do for french manicure, I guess. Spreads nicely, doesn't leave streaks. Can't say much about the chipping: put it on 2 days ago first time. Probably there are tiny signs of chipping, but it doesn't really matter since the color isn't contrasted.

I bought this polish earlier this evening and I'm trying it out now, so far I really like it! I was looking for a sweet pink with a very sheer finish and I got just what I was hoping for...
If you're looking for a fully opaque/full pigmented finish, this probably isn't what you're going to get unless you use a white or cream base. In the bottle it shows to be a dewy soft pink, but applied to the nails it is very sheer. Absolutely great for french manicures or just a natural polished look. If you want something more glitzy, this polish will lend itself well to "jelly sandwiching" (layering glitter polish between coats of the sheer pink polish.) Just about any sheer polish is great for this... You get a wonderfully muted look. This sheer polish would also be fantastic for layering a sheer sparkle polish to top it off.
The polish has a great shine once dry, even before a top coat. It applies smooth and relatively even, as with most sheer polishes it can become uneven in some areas so you have to be a bit careful. (This is my experience anyway.)
I'm really happy with this purchase, it's exactly what I was looking for. Very feminine and sheer. This will be a staple polish in my collection for years to come.

This colour gives my nails a lovely pinky sheen and is very natural looking, however if you are looking for a strong milky pink this isn't the colour for you. I love the flat brush which makes application so much easier, however you still need a few coats to build up any kind of colour. Overall I really like the colour, but it's not necessary one I would repurchase.

Sorry to be the one who doesn’t jump into the excitement wagon but I am not keen of this polish. This is my first Essie nail polish. I had some good experiences with Mavala and Essence polishes as they have small 5ml bottles, cost few dollars, contain no toxic substances and are of the best quality on the market so I never saw the reason to splurge so much money for a huge bottle of nail polish I’m never going to finish because it gets old and goopy and because there are so many other colours to try out there. But few months ago I was in Germany and Essie nail polishes were very cheap, I couldn’t resist the hype and bought Sugar Daddy. I thought that, being a classic sheer pink, I would use it very often, so it would be a good investment. Well, to make it short. It is not sheer, it is TRANSPARENT. You won’t see anything at the first coat except shine. After 3 coats the nails start to be like your nail colour but darker and the white tips are sort of beige, which looks somehow dirty. I really didn’t like the look. The pink tone managed somehow to resemble too much to my skin colour although I was tanned. It was a big contrast after the Sweet Candy from Essence I had worn before, a gorgeous pale milky pink that gives me that clean polished sophisticated natural look and makes the tips really white.
What I really appreciated, and this is the reason why I can imagine to try other Essie colours in future, is the flat brush that makes the application not only easy but almost a sensual experience, and the beautiful shine.
I have found now a way to use it: first I apply a whitening base from Mavala or Essence and then 2 coats of sugar daddy. The whitening base brightens the rosy tone of the polish, neutralises the beige dirty effect and brings out the pink hue.

What a sheer, natural pink! A cool-toned pink on my cool-toned skin definitely made my nails look shiny and natural, I love it.
Durability: Great with gripper base and Seche Vite topcoat.
Payoff: A sheer pink great for super-natural french tips or neutralizing bubbles or minor discoloring. It's supposed to be translucent but I prefer a tiny bit more substance in the color
Finish: Shiny satin on it's own, standard expected finish.

I have several nude polishes and this is one of them. I love this, it makes my nails look pretty. If I use essie's top coat over it, I can wear it for over a week. I'd definitely repurchase this.

This nail polish is very translucent but I love that it makes my nails look neater and it has a wide brush so you just need one stroke to cover the whole of your nail, and I usually apply two coats. It's nice and subtle but kind of expensive (£7.99 in the uk)

I wish the color in the bottle could be the same color on my nails!! Very translucent...have to apply 3+ coats to achieve half the color..sigh...just too much work to build the color

I've used Sugar Daddy and Medemoiselle for years, but ended up sticking with Sugar Daddy. Goes on so easily, you can use one coat or two, and it gives just a great basic color. As one reviewer said, you're not going to look at your nails and say Wow, but they're going to look classic, clean, and pulled together.

Sugar Daddy goes on extremely sheer, so if you're looking for opaque colour payoff, this won't be for you. While it appears quite pink in the bottle, it leaves little more than the faintest hint of rosé on your nails. Initial disappointment in terms of colour aside, this does not streak at all and looks good no matter how sloppy your application.

I wanted to love this polish after seeing it advertised in a magazine. Unfortunately, no matter how many coats I put on, it never got opaque/pink like the bottle. I want a milky pink. I was looking for something a little more pink than OPI's Bubble Bath, but I'm back to using Bubble Bath because this color is really just a 'not a color' for me.

In my opinion, Sugar Daddy is the color one would buy to look pretty without looking like they tried. Almost gives the illusion of being effortlessly beautiful. The color is not nearly as opaque as the bottle makes it look. It's the perfect "dainty" color. If you want a delicate and feminine color, this one is for you.
Here's where it get's tricky. The color is so unassuming that you can't choose this if you're looking for pretty nails exactly; or if you want your nails to be a highlight of your look. It works much better if you just want pretty hands in general. Choose this color and you'll find yourself thinking, "My hands look so soft and pretty!" Not, "my nails look awesome." I think that's why this polish is so wonderful. It's not too opaque or white. It's perfect in the same way concealer or nude/pink lipstick is: it makes you prettier without drawing attention to itself.
Hope that made sense.

Best.Sheer Nude.Nailpolish.EVER!!!! I love this! This is perfect for the "natural" buffed nails look. NON-streaky (Ballet Slippers, I'm looking at you!!). Totally blows OPI's Bubble Bath, CG's Innocence out of the water. Will buy again!

This is the best sheer/neutral polish I've ever owned! Most lighter colored neutrals are very streaky and require several coats to look just ok. Sugar Daddy looks amazing after just one or two coats. No streaks, perfect shine and a lovely bashful pink hue. This is my go-to polish for winter months when I'm extra pale.
