I am very fair and this blush looks great on...tho I have to be careful and apply it very light handed...which means it should last a long time. It is finely milled and fairly matte. I would describe it a a pinky red (cool red).

I.LOVE.this.blush. I never ever thought I could pull off this vibrant bright pink because I am so fair skinned. I took a chance and got it and I am glad I did. This is now my HG summer blush! It is true to pan, so I needed to stipple this on to be careful not to over do it. Now I honestly think that any skin tone could pull this shade off with a light hand. It is beautiful! Long wearing (i've only ever worn it with Too Faced Primed&Poreless Bronze), gorgeous, finely milled, just perfect! Highly recommend this

I love this blush! I would never have thought that this blush would look good on my NC30 skin, but it does! This is a matte pink with bluish-purple undertones to it. The color is super pigmented and lasts all day for me(8 or more hours) You really have to be careful applying this blush or you might look like a clown! The packaging is really sleek but as quite a few people say it does get dirty easily. Overall I am happy with this product!

NARS has amazing blush that dramatically changes your look instantly! It stays on for hours and does not rub off. I usually don't wear NARS makeup but i love their lipstick, eye shadow and blush line.

This is a great blush for my skintone. I am an NW-15 and I always loved this plummy blush my mom had from Lancome when I was a kid. I used it as a teen and then well kinda forgot about my love of this mauvy, plummy, and pink swirled into one. So I was looking on Sephora and I really like NARS blushes because they do last forever, which to me makes the purchase worth while. When I found Mata Hari I was like omgosh the colour I so loved in a company I love!

You barely need any product and I mean one swipe picks up a lot of colour. It is really great for us pale girls as well as those who are blessed to get colour. But it really makes my fair self look rosy and healthy and not overdone. I don't like my blush to look fake. I really luv this blush and it's a staple because it's that good and it lasts a loong time. I went to a rock concert sweat my butt off but my blush was in check:) Great blusher I really recommend it!

Mata hari is a fantastic purple/pink for those with olive undertones! The colour in the pan is very bright looking so the initial application might be a bit scary for some. However, once you apply it, it is simply STUNNING. I have to be careful to do a very gentle sweep of the brush because it is very easy to apply too much since it is a very soft consistency. But you get a hang of it pretty quickly. I wear directly over moisturizer/ sunscreen.

My only problem (as is with all NARS blushes) is that the compact gets super messy with the loose blush powder. I find this wasteful since it is not cheap.

I still say it is worth the price since a little goes a very very long way. I also own the shade Orgasm and while orgasm is excellent for a little bit of everyday colour, it doesn't suit me half as well as Mata Hari does. Instantly enlivens the complexion and really suits my skintone since it is close to the colour of my natural blush. Orgasm is not the only fantastic shade in the NARS range! Give them a try!

Oh my goodness amazing! This solidifies that NARS blushes are my HG! This lovely cool pink is so boring in the pan I thought I had picked up the wrong one until I swatched it on my hand. It's so vibrant and fun, but super pigmented. I'm not kidding, Being very fair I look ridiculous if I apply this like would Orgasm, Gaiety, or even Super Orgasm. The lightest touch does just the trick. I think ill post a picture of it applied, because the shots of it in the pan really don't do this beautiful blush justice. If you are considering I'm sure you won't regret it. I intend to repurchase if I ever have to.

Mata Hari is a beautiful purple/pink color. It seems to have a blue undertone. The pigmentation is a bit sheer - but it is buildable. I tend to like that because of the color of it. I prefer it to be sheer and have the option to build the opacity of the product.

The texture is smooth (like most Nars products) and it is a matte color - so there is no shimmer or glitter in it.

Because of the texture it doesn't have much wasted product or fall out when using a brush.

The only downfall is you have to keep where ever you store this product clean because the packaging feels really nice but does attract dirt.

Overall I would recommend this color to anyone who happens to like blue toned pink/purples.

I want to really love this product, but I am not terribly sold on it. The color is beautiful and it lasts a long time, though.

However, I find it hard to work with. I had "super orgasm" before and could easily swipe it with a brush, but this is a little harder to work with.

If you aren't a "spaz" like me I'd recommend it! :)

This is a lovely pink that can be applied lightly or heavily for brighter cheeks - I am a bobbi brown Beige (3) and it suits me very well. NARS have great blushes!

I'm a NARS blush fiend. Reference point: NARS Barcelona - MAC NC 30-35. Before this, I was using either NARS Desire or Gaiety. I do love a bright pink for my cheeks.

Mata Hari was given to me by a make up artist friend. I was never very drawn to it in stores - it looks very 'blah' in the pan. However, unlike Desire, I find Mata Hari much easier to work with it. I don't have to be concerned to use a very light hand and blend carefully with it. Desire's finished result is beautiful - but it can be a pain for everyday because it's so easy to over do. Mata Hari still brightens the face and gives you flushed girly 'Barbie' cheeks, but in a more subtle natural way. Perfect for everyday - it's easy to touch up when you are on the go because you don't have to worry about over doing it.

Right now - Mata Hari with a sweep of NARS copacabana on the cheek bones is my go to. It looks flushed and sexy, but it doesn't scream 'I'm wearing hot pink blush'.

My skin colour is about a NC/W25 Neutral. This blush works for me, it's actual a quite natural colour when its on my cheeks. I love this as a winter blush because of it's mauve pink, cool undertones. I apply it lightly to the apples sweeping it lightly to the sides of my cheeks.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Hands down my favorite pink blush. NARS blushes are unrivaled. Mata Hari looks very bright candy pink in the pan but applies as a soft rosy flush. I prefer this to Desire, which can be clownish. Mata Hari doesn't really require the light hand I use with blushes like Exhibit A. It imparts this gorgeous true pink that blends flawlessly. I really don't know who this would look bad on, it is just the most perfect pink colour. Not too light, not neon, not chalky, just rosy perfection. I haven't hit pan in 3 years, doubt I will anytime soon but I'll always repurchase.

This is my first blush from NARS and I love it! I wanted a natural looking everyday blush, and while this is a little bit too pink to be undetectable on me it still looks like a nice flush: it just makes me look healthy and awake. I have a slightly warm medium/light skin tone, but I think this would look even prettier on pale complexions. The pigmentation is so intense that I only lightly dab my brush in the pan once for each cheek - if I need more colour I will add a tiny bit more - then I blend in with a kabuki brush. You only need the smallest amount. Perfect for the apples of your cheeks.

Also the lasting power of this blush is insane; I applied my makeup before lunchtime and lightly dabbed this on top, then went to a 10 hour shift bartending, had some drinks myself, and didn't return home until after midnight. My concealer (which had been applied very carefully and set with powder) was gone and my bright red acne marks were glaring at me, while my cheeks were still a soft, pretty pink. Incredible.

This is a very natural shade of pink when applied. I was lucky to receive this in a swap from a nice swapper. So glad I did. The color is gorgeous. It looks intimidating in the pan because it's very bright but it only take a tiny amount to create a natural flush. I have light skin yet I think this would look good on tan skin also.

I really like this product! I was a little hesitant. I was originally looking for a bright bubblegum pink blush (think NARS' Desire) but a lady at Sephora recommended this to me. It's more of a violet pink, but I really love it. It's flattering when used with a light hand, and it has great pigmentation and better staying power than most other blushes.

Beautiful Plummy pink ( if that makes sense!) it's a lot less shimmery than a lot of NARS blushes, but still beautiful! It is über pigmented, and I would suggest using a stippling brush (such as MAC 187) to build color, or else it could get messy! I would definitely repurchase, but I doubt I'll ever get through it because of the pigmentation!

This product was MADE for someone with my coloring!! I've never felt that way about a blush before, where I put it on and it just *clicks* that this blush makes me look incredible. I'm very fair and cool with dark brown hair and brown eyes. This is a beautiful bright clear pink-lavender color on me. It just lights up my face. I do, however, prefer to wear it on top of foundation as it can bring out redness in my face. Overall, very unique blush, and if you are similar to my coloring I definitely recommend!
Update: After a few years, this is my HG blush. I have never found a blush that makes me look more alive, pretty but also sexy at the same time. Just wanted to say that : )

I liked the texture of this blush and found it easy to build up and blend, however the colour = bad. It looks perfect in the pan, but just does not translate to the same colour when applied to my face. I like a soft blue-toned pink on the apples of my cheeks but Mata Hari seems to emphasise the red tones in my skin and just makes me look ruddy - not really a look I ever choose to go for.

If you're after a shade that looks the same on the cheeks as Mata Hari looks in the pan, go for Illamasqua Chased - perfect.

I'm NW20 and this gives me the perfect pink cheeks without giving 80's dated look. For me this is a perfect pink color for everyday. I first bought Desire but after taking it home with me I found that it does not flatter my skin tone. I returned it and bought Mata Hari instead. Mata Hari has a cooler pink color than Desire. Happy end.
