This foundation glides on well for my skin and able to even out my skintone. Like other powder foundations, this may clog your skin to a certain extent, and is more suitable for oily skin as powder formulations tend to have higher oil absorbency.

This is prolly not my favourite foundation as I found that it left my skin looking a lil 'flat'...there is no glow imparted from applying this *as compared to BB cream*

However, for those with oily skin and is looking for a long wear foundation....this may be for you. For some reasons, this product just sits there on your skin, and your face would look like it's powdered even 8 hours later. For that, two thumbs up for it's lasting power. Other than that, it's probably another slightly above average performing powder foundation.

I'm liking it, a LOT. Nice amount of coverage, but looks so natural. Found it when I went to check out the airtouch, and like it even more than that gizmo. Though it's the combination that seems to give me a nearly flawless complexion, which I most certainly don't have without makeup.

It is so expensive, which is why I put it on half my face, and then Mac StudioFix on the other for comparison. Which I'd been liking okay. Made my boyfriend look. He first thought I wasn't wearing anything on the Signs half, then said it was no contest, the Mac stuff looked cheap and cakey compared to the SKII. This was outside in daylight.

I think this is my everyday foundation and I'll wear the airtouch for extra polish.

To speak to past reviews: the packaging is beautiful, and I've been using disposable wedges, not the included sponge, so as to avoid bacteria buildup.

Other possibly helpful misc- I am asian american, and the 450 is a near perfect match, mac nc35 looks pinkish in comparison.

EDIT- I may buy this product again, but for now I'll be returning. Why? Because I don't like how my face is so glowy from this product. A powder finish might work well, but then I'd have to hunt that down (SK-II doesn't seem to make any), and for $80 refills, meh.

This is a nice foundation! It has a really good coverage. It makes my oily skin drier and it doesnt break me out. And another good point is that this foundation doesnt feel heavy on the skin.
UPDATE: Now I use SK II Signs Transform Foundation and I like it much more!!!

I like the idea of using a foundation which treats my skin as well as covering it, and Pitera is 5th on the ingredient list, which I think is very decent. Also in the ingredients is niacinamide, which helps reduce redness.

I bought a refill cheaply on ebay so can't comment on the proper packaging but the refill packaging is sturdy enough that you could use it without buying the compact as long as you don't plan on travelling with it.

OP1 was the right colour for my light skin (10 Limpide in Chanel Vitalumiere) though slightly yellower than I would have liked (I prefer neutral shades). Coverage is medium. My biggest beef with this was how it showed up tiny flakes and dry patches on my skin which had hitherto been invisible. Isn't this supposed to be a moisturising foundation? And probably one aimed at women of, ahem, a certain age? I'm 27 and oily-skinned so I don't get how this made me look dry.

An OK foundation, but really not good enough for the price.

UPDATE: I'm starting to like this more - it gives me a nice healthy glow - but the problem I have with it is that in strong lighting you can SEE the foundation on the skin. Maybe that's normal and I've just been spoilt by my HG MUFE F&B (what a lot of acronyms!) but I don't like looking caked in make-up.

This is a review for the actual fdtn only. I purchased a BN refill on ebay so can't comment on the complete packaging or retail price.

I really like this fdtn!! It goes on smoothly and creamily, almost melts into the skin. This can encourage you to apply more product but don't - you don't need to and it'll look cakey. One light dab of the sponge for each cheek, one for the forehead and one for the nose/chin is all I need. This should last me a good few months. The sponge is good too, altho a PITA to clean - it's very dense and def holds onto the product. Haven't tried it with a brush yet. It is only light-medium coverage but I prefer my skin to look like skin than fdtn anyway so perfect for me. Quite a moist natural finish, not sure how suitable it would be oily skin.

I find this last all day w/out touch-ups - after 13 hrs wear I'm only just starting to see it settle into the lines under my eyes.

I took a gamble on the colour but went with OP1 which luckily is a pretty good match. For ref, I'm NW20ish/Chanel Vitalumiere 20 Clair/Chantecaille FS Ivory.

I am definitely going to get this again, altho with luck it'll be another refill from ebay rather than the full retail price. Try ebay for the refills to test out before you pay full retail!

Finally - no breakouts or irritation at all. I think I actually love this fdtn. Yay! HTH.

UPDATE: I can't get this to work when applied with a brush, so I'm still figuring out the best way to clean the sponge. Also, I can't use this the day before TOTM, my skin's oilier (literally for that one day lol) and with this fdtn I was very shiny by lunchtime. So it may not be great for oilier ladies.

2nd UPDATE: After comparing this to the fdtn I am now happy to call my HG, I can say the colour match is a touch too warm. The texture isn't that easy to build - it looks cakey a little too easily for my liking. I've changed my would I repurchase to a no.

This is a very good foundation. It combines three features in one. Its obviously a foundation, has SPF16, and has some anti-ageing ingredients like the Advanced Signs Treatment moisturised. Like all other SKII products, it has pitera which will help balance the skin. Its got great coverage and may initially come across thick, but is actually a very fine foundation and goes a long way. Might be pricey, and finding your actual shade may be a hard thing to do, u'll have to try them before u buy. Coverage, again, i must emphasise is great but don't use this if you're going somewhere humid, cause there's a chance u'll get oily.

I LOVE this foundation. For years, I have been using Giorgio Armani LSF in 4 and it was my holy grail. I bought the new Shaping foundation in the line and liked that too. But when I tried the SK-II foundation at Christmas I couldn't believe how flawless it made my skin look. And the best part is that it doesn't seem to need touch ups (maybe once a day and often not even that) so there is no accumulation of powder during the day. It goes quickly from cream to powder finish very fast and doesn't feel sticky or heavy. My only complaint is the price, which is crazy. My finances are not made better by the fact that I set it using their air brush foundation.... But hey, it looks amazing and for me, that's worth it.

I really like this foundation, probably one of the best i have ever tried. The only major complaint is the price tag that comes with it.
This foundation gives a very natural finish, however you ought to have good skin to start with, otherwise it does not cover any of the flaws. Also, the color range is shocking limited. I also use Chanel Vitalumiere #30, and the closest match i can find is OP3. For some odd reason, their foundation also have a pink hue in it. Its not too much, but I can tell comparing with my other yellow base foundation. Considering their main market is Asia, I dont understand why pink is in it. But then again, a lot of asian i know love the pink color even if it doesnt match.
If you wear this, make sure you blend very quicky as it tend to dry out fast. Also only when you have a good skin day, as its very translucent. Finish is great, and it doesnt need touch up very often, stays matt all the time.
I will buy this again because the texture and finish is great, even the color is not exact what I hope for its still wearable as long as i dont slap too thick a layer.

EDIT 08/12/2006: okay, still loving this foundation, but just an update, its liquid version sits even better on skin! totally flawless (I will write another review on that), but just like to point out i no longer able to use the essence and moisturiser in SKII range because I have developed an allergic reaction to yeast (gives me rash but not red) but thankfully this is still okay to use (i guess they dont have much pitera in it).

I bought this because it claims to have ingredient that is great to the skin. I was having a very hectic time and messed up working schedule, so I figured this one would help on my worsening skin condition. I have to say that I didn't feel any of the benefits that it claims, my skin doesn't get better or pampered, and it is hard to blend. I now only use it around my eyes as concealor, since when applied to my whole face, it's just hard to get even coverage.

This is one amazing cream-to-powder foundation. Works fast and easy like a powder and blends in beautifully like a cream. The coverage is light and the finish is fabulous---absolutely natural, as if I have nothing on. Gives me radiant and flawless skin. Also moisturizing enough for my dry skin and works the best during fall and winter months. EDIT: Take one lipstick off because sometimes it doesn't seem to blend well enough around the nose.

I actually hang around the SKII counter when they lauched this product in Singapore to check out how's the response of the customers.

My verdict - only 'colourblind' SKII addicts should buy. There's too much pink base in it, which looks really fake on Asians yet the addicts didn't see it. The worse part was how bad the colour is and yet the SAs were lying through their teeth!

At first, I thought this product caused my breakouts. But after some use, I guess it is more suitable for people who stay in air-con places better. And for people with drier skins. If you have oiler skins, this foundation will make you look cakey and shiny after a while. But using blotters will be effective enough. Will still see if my face will have breakouts or not..

I have tried numerous foundations, and this is by far the best. My skin glowed after using this foundation. Glided on very smoothly on my skin, and had a very dewy finish. Doesn't give complete coverage, though, but skin looks translucent and natural. A bit on the expensive side, with the refill costing RM180. The compact alone costs RM65, but looks very elegant and sharp with its red colour. Quite heavy, though, and bulky. Lasted me for at least 6 hours but because my skin is quite oily, I had to blot in between. I've been using this for 2 months now (I apply once a day), and I reckon I still have about a month's usage left. Will repurchase again, wish it was cheaper though.
