A bit difficult to take the last bit out, but keeps shadows from running to the crease, at the end of the day it still as freshly applied as in the morning. Also, it brightens an eyelid a bit, like covered with some brightener.
Lasts very long, love it. Will definitely buy again and advice for others.

This is a rather dry eye shadow primer, more of a concealer/cream texture than it is a lotion. This means that it is a bit more difficult to blend than the famous UDPP and TFSI without pulling on the lid and especially if you use too much. The trick to it is to just take a pinprick on your little finger (my ring finger is too big for the task) and then dot the small amount on before patting it on rather than using strokes.
I have rather oily, hooded eye lids so I really need a primer that does its job well, and not only stops creasing but simply make sure the eye shadow doesn't budge at all. This does the trick more than well. I've worn it for whole days, out and about, during hot and sweaty summer days that make my whole face oily, but my eye shadow stays put.
This is my new HG eye shadow primer. The simple reason? It is all that a staple should be. Good packaging and a reliable product for a fair price.

I'd never had luck with eyeshadows or kohl liners because even though my skin overall is flaky, itchy, crypt-dry, my eyelids are oily even a few minutes after washing my face. The Lumene base is the first of their products that I've ever tried (it was just the cheapest primer in the store, to be honest) but I'm pretty happy with it. I have to be careful to put only the tiniest little amount on each eyelid (it's seriously a weirdly small amount -- like a pinprick) or it gets really dry and built up and it's hard to get the next product on. If I put it on correctly, my eye makeup stays basically all day (about 7 hours) and never becomes quite the disaster it used to even then. I will definitely keep buying this!

I think this primer is ok, makes the shadows quite vibrant and I like the packaging. I have oily lids, so I really need something good to prime my lids. This makes the eye makeup last around 3 h before it starts creasing. After like 8 hours of wear, my eyeshadow has creased totally.
I find the Urban Decay Primer Potion much better than this one.
I think this would be good for people with normal to dry skin, but not for people with oily skin like me.
Won't repurchase.

I was once a huge fan of UDPP until I discovered how much product was left inside the tube.
This base is just as good, costs less and is less of a hassle to deal with when it comes to getting all the product out of the tube.
This creamy product is a little thicker than UDPP, but spreads easily with fingertips. A little goes a long way.
I've been using this for so long now I should probably consider it an HG.

I really like this shadow primer. Unfortunately, I found it just after it was discontinued at CVS, so I had to resort to buying it on Ebayor Amazon. *sigh* Target does carry some Lumene products, but not this one.
This is a slightly thicker consistency than UDPP, but I like the texture and the packaging very much. After I put it on I give it a few minutes to dry while applying other makeup and then put on my shadow.
I will be very sad when I can no longer locate this online. Its such a great product.

I picked this up at CVS and was hoping it would be a cheaper alternative to TFSI or Lorac, which I love. While the easy availability and price and packaging are nice, this unfortunately creases on me after about 7-8 hours. It's nice for evening out the skin on the eyelid because its a light flesh tone, I just need something that still looks fresh by the end of day. I have oily lids, so this might work well for someone with more dry skin.

This was my absolutely favorite eye shadow base after UDPP and before Shadow Insurance. I would have continued buying Lumene, but it’s difficult to find, even online. Lumene is soft and blends right into my skin. It grabs the eye shadows and holds on to them all day long. This product lasted a long time. Packacking is nice, I like bases in tubes.

It was hard to decide if I should give this a 3 or a 4.. But I decided in 4 because I feel it does what it's supposed to do. HOWEVER, my eyeshadow does crease with this product at the end of a workday. This is actually the first eye shadow primer I've tried so it's hard to judge. This tube has lasted me for almost 2 years now with everyday use, and still has half left! That's like amazing! Overall, I will use for as long as I don't have anything better.

i looooooooooove eyeshadows,so i need a great primer. i ran out of my ArtDeco primer and thought i would try lumenes one.
i dont think i have ever regretted buying something so much.
the consistency is sooo dry that my eyelids literally hurt after putting this on!!!!
it does not bring out the colours in the eyeshadows.
only thing i like about it is the packaging, good little tube.
bad bad bad :S
ill stick with the ArtDeco primer.

I used to never use primers before and of course it would be crease-city. Thaks to mua i've learned all about primers. I picked this up almost a year ago at a local cvs for 50% off. I still have it which shows how long this can last you. I absolutely love it; no creasing, doesn't change color of eyeshadow. Have never used any other eye primers so can't compare. Would def repurchase; however have not seen it lately, prob discon. I'll have to start looking into other eye primers when i run out! :(

This just doesn't do anything for me. I tried this since it's readily available in Sweden (and I was living there at the timeand at the time) and I had to buy UDPP from abroad. My eyelids are very oily and eye shadow creases within the hour nearly. Lumene eye makeup base just didn't do anything to improve the longevity of my eye shadow, all it did was even out my skintone. I much prefer the packaging and price compared to UDPP but the product itself is useless to me.

This e/s base is comparable to TFSI ( Too Faced Shadow Insurance), but is cheaper. I picked this up at my local CVS while it was on sale for $5. I apply a thin layer on my lids, as well as a little under my eyes ( where I apply liner), and let set for 30 secs. Next I apply a MAC paint pot or shadestick and then my e/s. This e/s base does allow me to wear MAC PP's and SS's w/ out them creasing on me. I cannot say how this base holds up on it's own, as I use it for the sole purpose of a "primer" fo a primer...lol! So, if you have problems w/ paint pots or shadesticks creasing on you, give this a try if you can still find it. I think it might be d'ced as all my local CVS's were clearancing them out. If I find it again, I would definitely repurchase :)

I purchased this product from CVS for 50% off which made it $5. I never used UDPP so I can't compare it to that this is my first primer. I like it, my eyeshadow doesn't crease all day (10hrs is usally the longest I've gone with no issues). It's easy to apply and my eyeshadows blend easily I would repurchase if available.

This is the world's best e/s base for me, but I have a few minor gripes. First, the good qualities: It works as promised, keeping almost all e/s from creasing all day (some BEs can crease slightly on me over this primer, but that's the only brand I've experiences this with) and evens out lid tone beautifully if you're going makeup-free for the day. Now the cons: it needs to be warmed up a bit to spread evenly and I find the product gets clumpy (which feels like tiny pieces of grit) towards the middle and end of the tube. Also, I have to powder over it before applying e/s for blendability. Still, I love it and will never be without it. Oh, and yes, I did try UDPP a few times and ended up swapping it because it's just too darn "sticky."

I have really oily eyelids (living in humid So FL does not help at all), which of course leads to undesirable eyeshadow creasing within a few hours of application. L'Oreal Decrease provided lackluster results, and I was thinking about shelling out money for one of the more expensive brand eyeshadow bases such as UDPP, when I noticed Lumene's Eye Makeup Base at CVS. It was 50% off of $9.99 so I snatched up two of them. Great decision. This product works even better than expected. I apply an ant-sized amount to each lid and blend well. The result is a smooth finish on which to apply eyeshadow. Since I have been using this product, I have yet to notice creased eyeshadow/oily lids for the duration of the day (from when I apply my makeup at 8 am until I wash it off at 10 pm). Even at regular price, this is an excellent investment.

HG! I was afraid to try another eye shadow base after a fiasco with a reaction to MAC paints and then the evil, eye-wrinkling monster that is UDPP. This stuff is great though. It's not drying and it's very smooth. My eye shadow applies wonderfully over it and stays on all day.

I was dying to get this, but it's not available in Canada, so I finally got it on a visit to LA. Fortunately I'm happy with it. I personally like the packaging. You have to squeeze the tube rather hard and a thin squirt of product comes out. I can't picture any other packaging that would work well for the consistency of this product. It's rather thick, but if you only use a little and spread it between your fingertips first, you can easily spread a thin smooth layer on lids. It really does make my eyeshadow last much longer, especially ones that I know would crease after a few hours (Kitten, I'm thinking of you). I don't bother with it every day, but if I really want long-lasting makeup this does the trick. And I know I will never run out, the 10 mL tube is enough for a lifetime.
Update: Amazing! I love it I love it I love it! The more I use it the more I realize that this is a definite HG and I can't do without it. It has become more or less a permanent part of my eye makeup routine. The other day I put on my makeup at noon (using the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips, which are also great), went to work for 7 hours, then went out with friends, and got home around 2am. My shadow looked freshly applied, no fading, no creasing, it was a shame to take it off. I'll be picking up a bunch of these on my next trip across the border to give them out to friends.

Let me first say how much I hate the tube packaging. This stuff is thick, and the teeny tiny opening in the tube is incredibly annoying.
That said...this base is AWESOME. I wear about ten pounds of eyeliner on my waterline every day and needless to say, it'll smudge. Even my beloved Ulta automatic eyeliners get smudgey down there. But I've been smearing Lumene's base on my undereyes and waterline, and my eyeliner DOES NOT MOVE. It's amazing!
