I was really disappointed in this stuff. I had heard lots of good things about it, but it didn't hold up very long for me. I smelled like perfume mixed with BO at the end of the day --- not great. Plus it is expensive and it also darkened the skin of my underarms.

A nice-smelling natural deodorant - and this are all the positive things I can say about it. It doesn't stop odor and it's only marginally better than not using a deodorant at all.

I really wanted to love this product. It smells pretty good, but it doesn't stop odor at all. I have been using this for about two weeks now and every day I am feeling self-conscious about my smell by about 10:30. I reapply at my lunch hour. I am going through this roll-on rather quickly.
My cheapie (less than $5) Crystal Essence roll-on smells almost as good and works much better.
I've tried the Dr. Hauschka in conjunction with my salt rock but something in the Hauschka seems to create more odor. Maybe it's the oils.
So...I wouldn't buy this again. The packaging was mostly glass so for those looking to avoid plastic this helps reduce your dependency. I plan on taking the roller ball off and pouring my other deodorant in it soon. However, the roller ball itself is plastic.

It's a deodorant that doesn't last for more than 2 hours in sunny weather.Since the purpose of the deodorant is to keep you clean and fresh,I don't think it is a good choice. Also it is very expensive, the smell is a bit strong at first, but in an hour or so it doesn't smell at all(right before you start smelling yourself....).The positive is the fact that it isn't sticky and it doesn't leave white marks on clothes.

This is the best natural deodorant I've tried so far.
I switched to aluminum-free, natural deodorants more than 5 years ago since my armpits are sensitive and readily develop those nasty bumps. It wasn't the easiest transition since natural deodorants are not anti-perspirants and I live in a tropical country. But it's true what they say -- your body eventually adapts and you sweat less. Up until a month ago, I had been using Lush's powder deodorant. But I was forced to consider alternatives when I was told that they'd discontinued my deodorant. There was a number of good feedback on Dr Hauschka's deodorant and I decided to try it (notwithstanding the exorbitant price!). Based on reviews I'd read, I brought it to the office on my first day of use to do a mid-day touch up just in case. To my pleasant surprise, I felt fresh the whole day and it lasted a solid 14 hours (it'd probably have lasted longer if I didn't take my evening bath which is a must in a tropical climate). Yes, I still sweat a little during lunch since we walk under the scorching sun on our way to the nearest coffee shop. But there has been no funky odor no matter how warm it gets. It's also good that it doesn't leave any sticky residue unlike most deodorants sold in the grocery.

I could recommend this to people who don't really need deodorant. Or it can be used in the winter when you know you won't sweat. However, if you sweat, you will be uncomfortable because you will feel really wet under your arms. You will also stink. The product smells like spicy floral potpourri. Will not buy this again because it doesn't work all year round. It only works when it's freezing cold outside.

It works. I am really surprised, as I did not have high hopes. I live in Texas and it worked during the summer, no less! My underarms do not smell when I have this on. I have tried many other natural deodorants and have never had one keep me smelling OK. My odor was starting to bug me so much I was considering going back to using an antiperspirant every few days to keep me dry. I tried this as a last resort and am super happy with the result. It costs a fortune but if you care about not poisoning yourself with chemicals it is worth every cent!

Let me just say that I really really love the Fresh Dr. H deodorant. Like the Fresh, the Floral does a good job of preventing odor. I do reapply during the day (I especially do this with natural deodorants), so I'm not sure you could go hours in 100 degree weather with this, but it does a decent job and it's healthy for you. As others have said, sweating is good for you, so this is not an antiperspirant. It just keeps you smelling good (and use of natural deodorants over time does reduce how you smell anyway - it really is true). This is much better than some of the other natural deodorants I've tried (Kiss My Face, etc.), but I also like to combine it sometimes with the liquid crystal deodorant spray for extra protection. The only reason I'm taking off a lippie for this is that this (unlike the great smelling Fresh version) smells like rose with pimentos to me. Yes, flowers and martini olives. Not terrible, but a bit weird (yes, my deodorant is fresh and expires in 2 years). So, one lippie off and I'll just stick to the Fresh version of this after this one is done. Price is high on this, but worth it.

Great deodorant, I purchased it together with the Fresh one for alternating, according to the fragrance I'm wearing. The only downside is the smell, it's very rich and invasive, like dried roses and beeswax, not very delicate, so: check if you like the smell before buying.

Absolutely love this product. Works better than any mainstream deodorant with aluminum or propylene glycol, two things I'd rather avoid. And I love the scent!! In fact, the other day, I got this faint smell of rose and could not figure out where it was coming from. I was trying to figure it out and thought to myself "Did I put on some Jurlique rose hand cream today"? I finally realized that it was the Dr H deodorant! It's not overpowering though, just faint enough, and very pleasant. Best of all is that it works!! I will never go back to anything else. It's worth every penny.

After throwing the stinky Peaceful Patchouli deo of Kiss My Face, I got this online. Among the handful of natural deodorant alternatives, I can say this is a superior product. I am not a sweater but I exercised after putting it on, and it worked just fine. The fragrance is quite strong though. It is a rosy, powdery fragrance with an unpleasant note which competes with my perfume during the day, but strangely I got used to it and even began to like it.

This deo actually GAVE me BO. I was at work (nothing strenuous) and thought "who didn't shower today" and then realised it was ME. And I've never had that before. Given the price, I was relutant to chuck it, but after a week no way was I going to pong! In the bin.

Although it is very expensive ($19.00 USD), this is the only natural deodorant that I use. The smell is spicy rose, just like their powders, but this scent lasts, so if you don't like the scent, forget it. As mentioned below, it won't keep away wetness (which isn't really a bad thing healthwise), but you can wash cloth off and reapply if needed on really hot days. It *does* seem to work better the more you use it, too.

I have tried a lot out there. I don't please easy and I demand a lot from my skin care. If it performs well then I will pay $$$. Our bodies are suppose to sweat. Sweating is good. It's the body's way of releasing toxins. A body in optimum healthy doesn't stink! but, any way....back to the deo. I'm not in love with the roller ball or the fasct that it's sort of cold and wet when you first apply it. I did find it on the pricey side. It's $25 in Canada at Whole foods. Anyway, I teach fitness classes every day of the week and I do sweat when I workout. This deo neutralized all odor what so ever!!. I checked. I haven't tried apply Hauschka's powder first and that's next on my list. The quality ingredients are pleasing and I am happy with its performance so I will buy again. I like both the Fresh and the Floral. Just depends on my mood. Oh! another great thing about this deo is that is does not irritate newly waxed under arms! woo hoo! I am constanting removing under arms hair as soon as it grows in because my under arms are exposed every day. I can apply this deo minutes later and it does not burn, it does not make redness occur. It's a prety great product!!

I use both of Hauschka's deodorants and am very happy with results, but I never perspire much anyway. My advice is to persist, they don't work for the first week or so if your body is used to stronger stuff with nasties in it. Give it time and you won't have a problem. And the health benefits are worth it.

UPDATE OCTOBER 2006: Now that we have had a few hot days this can't keep up. Would be ok for the cooler months but forget it in summer.
I can't believe I spent AUD$20 on a deodorant (and that was with a discount, it retails for AUD$35!), I must be losing my mind. Anyway, this product is fantastic. Smells gorgeous, is completely non-irritating and keeps me non-stinky all day. Doesn't keep me dry, but not even anti-perspirants with all the aluminium in the world can do that, so I'm not bothered by the wetness factor of ordinary and natural deodorants at all. I might try this with Jurlique Rose Silk Dust though just to experiment with reducing the wetness factor.

This definitely does not keep me dry. And though it DOES neutralize odour, it only does so to a limited extent. Keeping in mind that this is all natural and better for our health, I find it adequate for use in the Winter (I still pat on a bit of body powder over it though). I find the soft scent inoffensive. I must add that adding body powder seems to keep me dry longer.

Read the good reviews and decided to give this a go: now regretting it! this smells like dried prunes, kind of "old lady" medical oil type...! Yikes! EDIT: it worsened my BO when I sweat...caused this 'orrible STINK!!! Not good at all for humid environments.

It's a great deodorant, smells wonderful, but it doesn't stop the wetness. I was "sticky" after only an hour. Thumbs down. It's way too expensive to buy again.

well, I don't know. On the one hand, I don't want to use toxic deodorant; on the other hand, this stuff doesn't seem to work AT ALL. Will stick with it in the hope that it might 'start to work' (!) But really, it seems to me you might as well not bother for all the good this stuff does.
