I just received this as a gift from a coworker and I must say it is a very unique fragrance. The cucumber is very fresh while the pomegranate and freesia bring a fruity and sophisticated floral bouquet to the mix! Makes me want to wander through the rest of VS's Secret Garden ;)

This smells really nice but I wish that it had more pomegrante in it and less cucumber (I hate cucumber!).

When I first started wearing VS products some four years ago, they had a divinely refreshing floral scent with cucumber and water lily, now since discontinued of course. Romantic Wish recently caught my attention because one of its notes is cucumber, which is a known alfactory stimulant to women along with liquorice. The other notes in Romantic Wish include pomegranate, freesia, and peony. At initial spritz on my wrist, I get a clean, watery cucumber melon scent. Yes, I know there is no melon, but I am reminded of honey dew or cantaloupe before a sweet floral stage reminiscent of flowers and Jolly Ranchers. It smells better than it sounds. The dry-down is a light fruity floral that never fails to make me smile. The lasting power is pretty good for a mist on skin--a few hours; I would recommend spraying some in your hair, which should give you four to five hours, if not longer.

As for getting your hands on Romantic Wish, it appears that for a short time that Victoria Secret has brought back some of the classics. Both stores that I frequent in two different states (travel to and from university) offer Romantic Wish, Sweet Daydream, and Passionate Kisses. I immediately bought three Romantic Wish mists and two lotions, which are more floral from the freesia and peony with the watery cucumber, to put away in a stock pile. So if you are hankering for a fresh, clean cucumber fragrance, VS does seem to have Romantic Wish on its shelves, though I suspect they will not restock after the semi annual sale in June. In fact, I am tempted to go and buy some more mist and lotion just in case. There is the 5 for $30 deal in addition to the big semi annual in June when Fantasies, formerly Secret Garden, should be $2-3 each … or something like that. Hurry now! The candy cucumber will not always be there!

This smells like pomegranate and cucumbers - it's a sweet, clean, quite unusual scent. I have the body spray and it has a pretty good staying power. It gets used up really slowly, I have worn it so many times already and still have 3/4 of the bottle left.

I loved this scent! I wish VS hadn't have stopped making it! It was my favorite at one point! It smells so good, clean & sweet I don't know how anybody couldn't like it!

I love this scent but is very hard to find. Luckly I found a body mist in Walmart called Cucumber Melon from Bodycology. Smells exactly like this and is cheaper. Check this out!

Smells wonderful- Floral, bright, and crisp! Some seem to be bothered by the cucumber, but I really like it! It is also cheap. A good pick me up during the day (don't think it would wear well at night).

I'm so sad VS doesn't carry this anymore :( I still have 2 bottles but I save them for special occasions. The smell is so beautiful and feminine and just the right amount of sweet and it works amazing with my body chemistry!

OMG OMG OMG I LOVE THIS STUFF SO MUCH!! Smells amazing and lasts a pretty long time!! I love it!! Im so sad ... I live in Canada and La Senza, (our victoria secret) used to carry this and no longer does...so it's harder to have access to... thankfully VS is coming to Canada so I can get LOADS! Definitely try it out!

I love this!!! Probably my favorite but then again Im a VS junkie so all of them are my favorites. My roommate loves this spray she secretly puts it on when im not watching. i went out to buy it for her but i couldnt find it at the store. Was it discontinued or something?

I never owned this, but one of my friends had it in the body butter form and the body spray, and I just hated that scent! Next time I go to VS i'll try it on myself and will update this review, but I would be surprised to like it...
EDIT: I went to the store and sprayed it on my wrist like I said I'd do, and I totally hate it! Other people seem to say it's kind of a cucumber-melon scent, well I think that was the bothering part of the fragrance! It has a really good lasting power though, a few hours after I could still smell it, but it bothered me a lot...I really like VS and I'm pretty puzzled : why do I hate romantic wish and pear glacé that much?!?!? taking this down to 1 lippie

The cucumber in this is the predominant note I would say. It's a very fresh, vibrant and girly scent. So if you love cucumber scents, you'll most probably like this

I love the inital scent of this, it smells juicy and bright, it does smell kind of like watermelon but not exactly.
That must be the pomegranate (I have no idea what pomegranates smell like)
I would have loved this if it stayed like that, but on me it drys down rather quick and becomes smelling a little powdery, almost musky cucumber-floral with a hint of Freesia.
I personally HATE cucumbers so I can not stand the dry down on this!
But the inital scent is very pretty, and people who love BBW's Cucumber Melon will most likely love this too!
The dry down kind of smells like a more grown up, much more wearable version of Cucumber Melon.
If everybody ever wished CM was a little more sorphisticated or complex, you should go try this one !!

One of the best Secret Garden scents ever. This is one of the only scents from the collection that I never get bored of. It has something fresh and delicious about it that is similar to watermelon, but it also smells pretty and deep. For a fruity scent, this one is definitely sexy! It lasts pretty long for a body spray, but oddly enough, the EDT does not last as long, which is disappointing. Romantic Wish has some of the same characteristics as Pure Seduction, but this is not as sweet and candylike. I hope they keep this scent around!

I bought a couple of stimulating body scrubs in this scent for 75% off. At first I thought I liked it when I smelled it in the store, but when I got it home and used it, I found it does in fact remind me of BBW cucumber melon, which I'm not a fan of. If you like the BBW cucumber melon, or fruity florals, you might give this a try. I'm going to use up the two scrubs that I bought, but I would not repurchase this scent.

EDIT: Okay, so it took me like a year to finally edit my review. LOL. Anyway, I love this scent now! I'm on my second bottle of it. When I first tried it, I didn't like it, but now this is my favorite Victoria's scent. It's gorgeous.

I went to the Victoria's Secret sale yesterday, and I bought a small bottle of this, for $2. I almost decided to buy Amber Romance, since I bought it for my mom once and I personally loved the scent as well. But, I don't want to smell like my mom lol so I bought this one instead...


It smells really nice at first, almost reminding me of BBW's Cucumber Melon, but slightly more floral. Now, it could possibly be because I sprayed several different fragrances on myself while at the mall yesterday, but this scent tends to have a plastic note on the dry down, on me. I'm not sensitive to scents, I'm not one of those people who can't tolerate scents and get headaches from fragrances. Trust me, I'm not. But, this smelled like cheap plastic at the end of the day. I never knew what people meant when they said a fragrance smells "plastic-y", but this one did. Maybe it was old, and that's why it was on sale? I don't know... I'll give it a few more days before I decide, and I'll edit my review.

My poor roommate uses absolutely too much of this when she does put it on. But other than that, it does have a nice, fruity smell too it. Smells a little sexy even.

this scent is great. its a really nice cucumber melon scent on me. its refreshing, summery, and not too sweet, which is really good because alot of cuke melon scents are way too sweet for me. this and BBW cucumber melon are the only two cuke melon scents that i actually like. i will most definitely buy this again.
