Messy but love it. I use this once a week on dry skin. its a small tub but a little goes a long way. once dry you rub it off and ur skin is so smooth! i think its really hydrating and softening becasue of the shea butter. i also love the glass packaging and even though its not that hygenic i am more of a impractrical person than practical and just like it because its very rustic and pretty. so sad it got discontinued. Bring it bak! lol love it!

I just bought this from the outlet store in Cabazon and I have to say I am very impressed. The price was cheaper at the outlet store too so that was a plus. I think it retails for around 32.00 USD and I got it for 25.50 USD or somewhere around that so not bad! I saw it on their website, but now that I search for it, it's not coming up. Does anyone know if it is being discontinued?? I hope not...I had three very big and angry pimples on my face due to soap that was supposed to be gentle but was still too dry... just within one use it changed my skin! And it felt more moisturized than other scrubs or exfoliators I've used. I thought the packaging was actually ok. I didn't have any trouble holding it in one hand and applying it with the other, without making a mess. Please tell me it is here to stay! I've not come across anything like it for my skin anyway.

MY skin saviour!! yes, packaging leaves much to be desired - unhygienic and messy! the price is not TOO cheap ...can't compare it to drugstore prices, but beats the department store range of products. Another thing annoying about this product is the mess you tend to create when removing it off the face.sigh, do set aside a couple of minutes after that to clean the sink area. that said ...i still LOVE this product!!

I was skeptical when i first bought it...but boy, am I glad i gave it a go!
I suffered from acne between the ages of 20-27. Yes , i am 27 now. My friend recently turned me onto oil cleansers, and it made a world of difference to my skin. it improved dramatically...and then plateaued. sigh. And then i realised i need a mask! or a scrub that was not grainy and harsh....enter GENTLE FACE BUFF.

I used it every fourth day for 2 weeks, and people started asking me what I have been doing to my face. My mineral makeup now looks flawless on. I will say that this product will probably not do much without a good cleansing and moisturising regime that goes with it. but every time i use it, it does indeed BUFF the face. skin is smoother, skintone is now even (After about a month of using it) and acne scars are fading away at a slightly faster rate than usual ( still not miraculous though). the pores on my cheeks have also shrunk. must be because it has totally cleaned everything out and my pores can now close happily!

I live in a dry and cool climate area (Canberra, Australia), and this buff has offered the benefits of a mask and scrub without any drying effects.

I bought it for AUD36.95. been using it for a month now, every fourth day. I believe this jar will last me at least 3-4 months. but I am planning on cutting back to once a week soon. the price is rather decent for the kind of effects I have seen with the use of this product. If this is an amount you can spare, please try it out.

wish it came in tube though, seriously.

I have samples of this, and remain on the fence. I think I like it as a moisturizing mask (while it is drying) more than an exfoliant. When I consider it as a mask, I don't feel so disappointed in the product. Great mask, bad exfoliator. 3 lippies? 1 off for price, 1 off for being ultra messy when "rubbing" it off. Probably would not repurchase the full size at full price, though I might get it if it were on sale at TJ Maxx for $5.

This is a great way for people w/ dry, sensitive skin to exfoliate. Most products are either so gentle that they don't do anything or they're too rough. This is perfect -- you put it on, wait a few minutes and gently rub it off to reveal soft, smooth skin. The fragrance is light and very pleasant.

This is the most impractical product I have ever used. I like exfoliators that rub off this way (Guinot has one which I use) but this just doesn't do enough for the effort. It makes a huge mess in the sink and it is too pricy for what it does. I honestly can't recommend this to anyone.

This is an unusual scrub. It's granule free and you apply it like a mask first then let it dry and then rub off. It's this rubbing action that removes the dead skin.
Like all L'occitane shea butter products, this smells a bit weird (like dust?) but the result is fantastic! Soft GLOWING smooth skin! My skin looks tighter and extra healthy and revitalised. May not repurchase because of the price.

This product is lovely but a bit rough and tumble. It's messy and smelly and the jar is horrible and rubbing the dried scrub off your face is uncomfortable, but ten minutes sacrifice is worth it for soft, smooth, nourished skin that really does glow.

The biggest drawback of this product is the "unappetizing" way that one has to remove the product from the face. After the product dries, the rubbing action that is required to remove the product is not all that "gentle."

My skin did feel soft after using the product but that didn't make-up for the fact that the product was awkward to use and actually quite "rough" on the face.

I apply this on, wait for 5 to 10 minutes to let it dry and rub off then rinse with water, and my skin is feeling soft and moisturized. It's very gentle comparing to a physical scrub. But I still prefer my regular scrubs becaue they are more easily to use and takes less time, thus the 3 lipsticks.

I was a bit surprised at the texture of this - since it's called a 'buff' I expected exfoliating flakes and such, but rather you do the buff-work since it involves rubbing it off with your fingers (I used a damp washcloth). This left my skin wonderfully smooth and radiant, and smells very pretty and real (finally, a non-fruity-blast smell!). I got this as a sample pack, but will buy again once I run out.

i just tried a sample of this and it didnt agree with my skin as i am now typing while i wait for the redness at my temples to dicipate. i did, however, enjoy the application and removal process. its a unique and gentle way to exfoliate although the product name is misleading b/c no "scrubbing" actually occurs.

Weird but cool product. I got a sample of this that lasted me two weeks and it's a thick paste of clay and shea butter that only sort of exfoliates but it does leave skin with a well-hydrated glow. I have combo skin that tends towards oily and it worked fine for me, even though it's for dry skin.

My HG facial scrub! This is for dry skin, which I have from October through May. At $28 for 2.6 ounces, this non-granular scrub contains shea butter and oatmeal extract. It leaves my skin looking polished and feeling incredibly smooth. There is no need to use a cleanser first, but I always do. I use this 5x a week (instead of the 2x weekly that's recommended), but I'll probably cut back in the spring. I had been using
Fresh's Umbrian Clay Mask as a daily scrub, but it left my skin overly dried. Interestingly enough, Prada's Hydrating Mask also contains Shea Butter, but it broke me out. My skin is much more even-toned since I started using this scrub.

This is my HG face scrub!!!. I have a combination/Sesitive/Acne Prone Skin. This is the most genle face scrub I've ever use. It's very moisturize but doesn't clg pores. It gently buff of the dead skin with out being too hash. Other scrub I used usually leave my skin dry and flaky. Not to mention that some left my skin irritate. L'occitane give my this glow and incredible soft skin. My face looks fantastic.

PS:I use this once every 2 weeks to make sure I don't over srub my face. After the face scrub I use L'occitane moisturizing honey mask for sensitive skin.

I adore this. Its a clay mask that you have to rub of after 10-15 minutes and you actually see the dirt in the clay as you rub it off. I love the way my skin glows, and feels clean and smooth after I use this. And it smells wonderful.

This scrub goes on almost like a white clay mask (but doesn't dry to a crust), and is particle free.

It's very moisturizing but I don't feel any oilyness, grease, or slickness (I have combination skin). I just feel soft, smooth, and my skin has a very healthy glow to it. I didn't experience that much buffing because when you rub it off it feels soft, but it works because my skin is sooo much smoother!
