I only *wish* this were a lush, complex floral on me. I get almost the exact same thing as edenssixthday: a boring, forgettable floral bouquet.

With a description as lush and beautiful as the description for Venice and the various notes included, I thought it would be an unforgettably gorgeous scent. Unfortunately, it isn't. It's floral and powdery and pretty boring on me. There's nothing special about it at all. I'm not even going to bother trying this one in a scent locket, that's how thoroughly boring and unimpressive it is.

This is a very lush, complex floral, with citrus giving it a bit of bite and preventing it from becoming too sweet. It is very well blended so no one note stands out, rather they just mesh together beautifully. It definitely evokes images of the city, and is very kinda decadent in its complexity. It is pretty much the same wet as it is dry on me. This is absolutely lovely!

I love Old Venice. A lot of BPAL doesn't work on my skin, but on me, this one just sings.

It's a slightly musky, fruity floral - feminine without being girly.

On me, the jasmine and lemon in Venice just seem to curdle one another. They smelled almost like neroli, which is terrible on me. Hours wore away the strength of that scent and left an unremarkable floral blend. This one's not for me.

there's supposed to be something in this beyond just lemon, right? on me it just sings LEEEEMOooON! after dry down it's a nice nondescript floral, but nothing standing out identifyably, and the hint of citrus always nearby, threatening..
this isn't really anything special, i'd try other HG BPAL's first.

Wanderlust - A complex, voluptuous scent that captures the robust beauty and of the Italian Renaissance: lemon, red currant, wisteria, red rose petals, heady jasmine, Florentine orris root, waterlily, red sandalwood, violet plum, and violet leaf.
Venice is one of my favourite places in the world and I love the images I get with this scent. Lush, bright colours; red, yellow, purple and green. Vivacious, buxom women, faces hidden behind vivid masks, their contagious laughter rippling through St Mark's Square as they dance to the live orchestra with their partners...a mixture of floral scents drifiting from their warm, ample cleavages... Beth's Venice is bold and intoxicating: floral, green, slightly aquatic, a touch sweet and fruity. Roses, jasmine, violet...and also the strong lemon zest and red currant mixing in. Despite those fruity notes though, Venice seems to be all floral, all the time on me, and I just can't do most big florals. I find it a bit sharp too. I love the imagery, but ultimately, this one is not for me.

This didn't even get as far as my wrist as the scent was so off-putting in the imp that i rejected it straight away. Its a very heavy, cloying sickly perfume which reminded me of YSL Paris and I truly detest Paris! Not a good BPAL purchase but thankfully only an imps worth.

I think this is a pleasant aquatic floral, it would be good if you are a fan of that genre.

A far too jasmine-heavy rose scent for me -- reeks of perfuminess. One of the more artificial/generic smelling BPAL blends I've tried.

I got this as a sample...way too floral for me. Nothing unique about this at all. I am a BPAL fan too, but this one just didn't work for me.

A lemony floral strewn with roses. Old Venice could easily be mistaken for what we deem a “department store” fragrance. Overall, a sophisticated scent, if a bit mumsy.

This was one of the first BPAL oils I tried, and, sadly, it just did not work with my chemistry. It was very heavy and overpoweringly floral.

This is gorgeous. My first whiff from the bottle was rose, but when it dries on the skin you get a complex aroma of a sunny lazy day in a vineyard with a garden nearby. This is a good floral for people who are not usually into florals.

I really like this scent, and I'm not a fan of rose scents. It's roses and citrus fruits and a bit of spice all simmering in a pot. Lovely and decandent and rich.

This is pure romance in a bottle! I envision a gondola, a first kiss and a bunch of roses clutched tightly in a woman's hands whilst snuggling into the warm embrace of her lover. At first sniff I smell sweet fresh cut roses with nuances of some kind of sharp white flower....this is a very unusual rose scent and I like it a lot.
I only have a wee little Imp Ear of it now and I was contemplating purchasing the full bottle but I won't because unfortunately I don't agree with BPAL's business philosophy.

Lemon, lemon, lemon, with a little bit of jasmine. Very nice, but when my sample is all used up, I don't expect I'll repurchase. It is a warm and sunny, cheerful scent. Though what lemons have to do with Old Venice, I have no idea. But, then again, I'm not naming the fragrances. This is an uncomplicated fragrance, good for those who have enough complexities in their lives.

This is one of those fragrances that makes you feel like you're gorgeous... Full-bodied with lush hips, overflowing bosom and a behind like two puppies wrestling under a blanket. Someone else said it's a "red" scent, and that's a perfect description. On me it's red and wet and juicy and very unique... More fruit than floral, definitely a keeper.

This scent is all flowers all the time to me. I know there are other notes, but the flowers are overpowering all else- in a good way. I wouldn't think of Venice smelling this, but a garden exploding with flowers, huge blooms everywhere.

I bought this without sampling it first, just on the basis of other reviewers, and I was not disappointed. Old Venice has become my favorite BPAL oil.

Floral, not girly, but voluptuous. It is complex, with jasmine, fruit, green notes. Yummy!
