First let me start by saying I DO like this BB lip color--Pink/Mauve in the Creamy lipstick. I have a difficult time with lip colors. My natural lip color is very rosy and because I'm in my Fifties, dark lip colors just don't look flattering anymore. That said, I find this lipstick to be so very dry and it makes my lips feel as though I have some extremely heavy product on. When I do wear this, I apply chapstick first, then lip balm, then the BB lipstick, THEN a clear gloss. I really find it just isn't worth going through all that bother unless I'm going out for a special evening or to a special event. I usually just stick to my regular routine of chapstick or balm.
I dunno--is it me or what? I find the BB makeup line to be expensive--I'm finding I really like the NYX line of makeup much much better these days!

Let me describe colors. I have Sandwash Tulle, Sandwash Pink, & Brown.
Sandwash Tulle and Sandwash Pink are nearly identical. The SP has a more purple or berry tinge to it. The ST is more bright pink. Both are very pretty colors that look very natural on lips.
The Brown is very dark for my skin tone. It is not a typical nude lipstick and has quite a bit of pink in it. The dark pigmentation does not mesh well with my skin. I have this in the "Give Away Pile".
The lipsticks texture is nice, although not terribly creamy. I agree that there are other lipsticks that feel more creamy, but I think BB does a great job of coming up with nice colors.

I like the staying power of this lipstick, and have only had one that felt dry. Maybe it was a liitle old or something. I got it-Brownie Pink, from QVC. The ones I got at the mall or from BB online were not dry. For me, a very fair, blue undertoned skin, my favorite is Azalea from the antigua pallette. I hope it comes out in regular lipstick b/c I love it. It is a pretty pink/ lilac to me, and a shimmer, but I don't think it has that much shimmer to it. Raspberry Metallic is much more "frosty" and I would like it better if it showed more color and less shimmer. Tulle is my favorite of the pinks. These lipsticks hold up well with lipgloss. Really moisturizing lipstick does not last with gloss on me. I took ;the advice on QVC that I could not go wrong with Brownie Pink but that did not pan out. It is just to orange. I have to put it on with a brush to tone it down and then put some pink gloss over it and it is ok so I don't have to waste it. I like the texture b/c it does not feel heavy or greasy. Azalea{sp}? is close to Jane Iredale rose, just a little more plum, but jane's has ha strange texture and I like BB better.

I love Bobbi Brown makeup and have never received more compliments than when I started wearing her line. I know that the colours across the line seem a little boring, but they are well formulated and made to enhance your own looks, not cover them up. I tend to always pick the same, neutral, pinkish-brown lip colour, no matter what line I'm looking at. BB "Brown" lipstick is just about the perfect rendition of that colour. I buy them two at a time, one for purse, one for home, and I love the creamy, matte texture and the smell (or lack of) does not bother me (I'm sensitive to lipstick/gloss taste). I wear Brown almost all the time and use a bright pink gloss like BB Popsicle to perk it up, a deep red glaze to make it a little more dramatic, a pearly gloss to tone it down, etc. It is very versatile. I also have Sandwash Tulle for something a little more pink, and a berry colour that I apply and then blot off to use as a stain (came with a set and it much to dark for me). I don't have a lot of lippies, and the ones I do show very little wear except for my standard BB Brown. That said, I haven't found a lot of other colours I really love in the line, so I usually look to Chanel or Guerlain for reds and corals. I think the BB lipsticks have great lasting power and the neutral colours make it easy to dress them up or down a little, and it is what I reach for almost every morning.
*ETA* - I'm in love with corals this summer and I just tried "Orange" and it is perfect! Applied straight from the tube it is very dramatic and it also looks great applied lightly with gloss over the top. I've been playing around with different colours of gloss for different effects and it is just beautiful. I never thought I would buy an orange lipstick, but this shade is highly recommended if you have a warm skin tone and it is way more versatile than I imagined.

I'm really surprised to see negative reviews on these lipsticks! I think Bobbi's lipstick formula is fantastic! Not only do you get a great color selection, but the formula is very creamy, super long wearing, and has a great semi matte finish. The only thing with these are, they can be a little bit drying, so I do wear a light layer of lip balm underneath, but other than that, I'd have to say this is one of my favorite lipstick brands, and I've tried hundreds!

It is easy to find a BB colour that will be your natural fit which makes it the first counter you go to and you plunk down your cash. It is better but more time consuming (and that's the marketing catch!) to scope out other counters but you will come up with a better product. Her lipsticks have been poorly formulated since day 1. I should know since she did my makeup just as they were coming out. Despite being integrated into Estee Lauder, who makes terrific formulas, and despite being a luxury lipstick, these are drying and don't last! Even drugstore lipsticks like L'Oreal are much better formulated. What's up with this? BB shadows also are good colours, very wearable which you can amp up with your own creative application since the line is boring, but don't have good staying power. I have a pile of BB which just lays in the makeup drawer because I manage to find better performing products.

Although Bobbie Brown doesn't have a huge variety of lippy multi colours under the rainbow, they have a LARGE selection of the prettiest neautral pink/beige/brown/red colours for everyday wear.
This brand is more conservative than say, MAC... So I respect the colour selection & have like almost all the neutral pinks like Tulle, Soft Rose & the Sandwash colour are my fav. If there's one I don't have I will buy it cause these colours are so flattering, they have the tendency to brighten the complexion. The packaging is sleek with the gold mid section makes it look prestigous.
They are creamy satin texture with opaque coverage. I LOVE opaque lippies. The only downfall is they're not as moisturising as the MAC lippies. Girls with super chapped lip problem(like me) may need to wear lip balm under these.
All in all I will keep buying these lippys forever & ever =)

I am totally surprised by the bad reviews for these lipsticks! Maybe the formula differs from colour to colour, but my Brownie Pink doesn't dry my lips out at all! I do wear a gloss over them (currently a Lancome Juicy Tube, but I'm replacing that very soon because it's too sticky and sparkly), but even without the gloss, I don't find them as drying as I've found other lipsticks.
It was a bit of sticker shock (paid about 30$ CAN for it), but worth it in my opinion. I was never sure what colours to pick until the SA helped me out, and this is my MLBB shade (redheaded PPP with naturally kinda pigmented lips), and my favorite lip stick I've ever bought!
My pic on this review page is of Brownie Pink over some clear Burt's Bees lip balm, with no gloss over top.

One day I walked to the Bobbi Brown makeup counter in the department store to get a lipstick because I read all about it in the magazine. Big mistake! There's nothing good about that lipstick.
Packaging? So so! Price is certainly not cheap. But the most important thing is the quality of the lipstick. Damn. It's bad. It's so dry, my lips start to chap every time I wear Bobbi Brown lipstick. I looks so ridiculous. Nothing is worst than unhealthy bad skin. My lips look unhealthy and bad. I look better without colored chapped lips with chipped skin hanging on my lips, meaning I am better off not wearing lipstick at all. The lipstick is just not usable. I toss it away and never look back. I never approach Bobbi Brown counter again.
For that kind of price, I expect better quality. I regularly use MAC lipstick. Once in a blue moon, I would get a different brand to see if there's better things out there, it can be another department store brand or drugstore brand (too see if I can find a gem at bargain price). It never works out. I always run back to MAC. BUT my lips didn't chap like crazy last time I put a drugstore brand lipstick on. It's ridiculous! I think Bobbi Brown is department store price but drugstore quality.
Lesson learned. Don't believe in magazine articles. It can be paid PR or their brilliant networking. It's all business. Read as many reviews as possible and try the product at the counter. You might want to check on your face to see how the product is doing in 2 hours before you buy it right away.

These lipsticks are very nice. They have a great variety of very neutral, subtle colors that most people can wear. I have this in rosy and it's great, the wearability is nice and it's not as drying as others. My lips are pretty pigmented (NW20) so it's difficult to find the right color. This adds some color without being overpowering, looks nice with my fair skin, and very reddish complexion. I would repurchase these.

I think Bobbi Brown lipcolors are the best in one category: natural/nude tones. She doesn't have the best reds, pinks, plums, variety, or packaging-- but she does natural/nude better than ANYONE. If you are always purchasing MLBB hopefuls that are never quite right, head to the BB counter and have your lips color-typed (they actually match lippies to one of 12 natural lip tones). You can then choose from same-as-lips, slightly-darker, or slightly-lighter shades. Really, it doesn't get any more customizable than this.
I found my perfect, MLBB shade in Brownie. I happen to like the soft herbal scent and semi-matte texture, and the wear is unbelievable! The formula is extremely pigment-dense and stays put--almost like MAC Retro Mattes, but with a much moister feel. You can wear it full-strength or blot; either way, it's just perfect for a subtle, but polished, look. It sure isn't going to replace all the other lipsticks and glosses in my collection, but for a matte MLBB look that's natural but polished, I couldn't find the perfect shade anywhere but here.

I've tried three colors, they were okay. BUT not any better than a Revlon or Maybelline lipstick. BB's lipsticks tend to be drying and the packaging is so big and "old," like the Estee Lauder brand. I'd rather spend $20 on a BB eye shadow or liner or just go to MAC and spend less and get more exciting colors and a better finish.

These lip sticks are so expensive, and not that great. They're way too drying, and after a little while on my lips, they're flaky!
Bobbi advises using lip gloss over her lip sticks, but I just don't like having that much stuff on my lips. I am usually a huge Bobbi Brown fan, too, so I'm very disappointed by these.

Wow, these aren't the best. It's my own fault for buying when I saw the words semi-matte as description. I find these very difficult to apply, even with brush. They are impossible to get into the corners of the mouth. They MUST be worn with lipgloss over. They mutate quickly from a regular lipstick look to something else that I don't care for, a chalky and undefined color that looks dry. For some weird reason, they migrate towards the lip line and the color builds up there. I have two red colors and find them too difficult to apply evenly, but I'm a gloss user. I prefer a creamier lipstick so I should have heeded the warning about the semi-matteness of them. Funny thing is, I used to wear BB lipsticks exclusively about ten years ago, couldn't get enough of them. Now I am just full of complaints. I really prefer, and I hate to say it, the formula of cheap old Rimmel lipsticks. Do like other BB products, however, quite a bit!

These are very long lasting and dry quite matte. There are some great colours, but overall there needs to be some new shades thrown in! They're either all nude, red or apricot shades that don't suite everyone (and some horrid 80's pink tones). Overall, not bad if you find colours which suite you because they will last a long time since you don't need to apply alot to get good colour and wear.

The only Bobbi Brown lip colors I own are the ones in the Pink Face Palette. As many other reviewers have noted, they are quite drying to the lips, so I apply mine over MAC Lip Conditioner Stick SPF 15, which also adds sun protection. I like the fact that the colors don't turn bright pink on my pigmented lips the way many drugstore lipsticks do. I enjoy using the shades I have in the palette with the other products in it, but overall, I don't find these worth purchasing on their own. Ingredients: Castor Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Isopropyl Lanolate, Candelilla Wax, Beeswax, Ozokerite, Silica, Microcrystalline Wax, Cetyl Lactate, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Fragrance, Benzyl Benzoate, Linalool, Limonene, Citral. Fantastic "real lip" colours which truly are in a league of their own ... but what a shame shame about the wear! The lipsticks - all of them without fail - are FAR too drying & too opaque to look natural if worn on their own. It's the kind of consistency my grandmother's lippies had. The taste isn't anything to commend either. BB, presumably in order to achieve a true "natural" effect, avoided any hint of frost/glimmer in her lippies. Whilst a valid point in theory, in practice a bit of glimmer is flattering because it accents the cupids bow and natural ( or added) lip line.
Still, all is not lost. If the lipsticks are lightly dabbed onto the lips with a finger instead of applied directly from the tube and topped with a gloss or balm, the effect is okay. But no more than that, it just looks okay. However, for a lipstick costing this much, I expect to be able to wear it straight from the tube without faffing around with it. And I expect a darn sight more than "okay". I can achieve a perfect "okay" from Labello.
